I think not all altcoins can benefit you, everyone knows that the market is currently weakening and almost all altcoins also fall, I think before investing we must have confidence and have information about the altcoin that will be invested.
altcoins are not something you invest in. it's just some fun to have, like buying a lottery ticket. you need to realize that before you do any of these risky trades. i personally have 95% of my portfolio in proven coins (your classic BTC, ETH, Dash, etc) and coins that i TRULY think will matter in the future (Neo,BCC, XMR (!!!)). you expect to go 2x - 5x on the long term with this kind of investments. 5% i just put into small things of which the whitepaper and concept kinda make sense. recently I've taken a liking to OMG, NEO and baby coins like Binance and XST. just read up on the coins, don't buy anything before you understand it
Since the market is down, I could state inbesting in atcoins are way better contrasted with putting resources into Ico. The reason is on the grounds that you never again need to hold up more than the person who put resources into ICO to see a cost increment. Moreover, there are parcel of coins that their costs is lower than what is in ICO.
I think that if you need to invest in the crypt in any case, you need to be neat and have all the subtleties!
I think that investing in altcoins is quite profitable, but it is worth choosing really good coins first. Also, investing in Bitcoin in the long term will be very profitable.
Altcoins are actually the worst investment now. Almost all alts are back to their November/December 2017 price before the bull run last year.
Altoins are generally risky and should be trated with caution. BTC is precious and should be accumulated and stored. Many altcoins are just shitcoins. Do not get dilusional in thinking how much can certain shitcoin rise. Take occasions but do not be greedy.

Yes, if you want to get x2-x10 then it is better to invest in altcoins because Bitcoin and Ethereum are very expensive and they will not make x2-x10 in short time.

Looking at the current state of the market I don’t think that altcoins are the best investment to make right now it's better to keep all of your investments locked down into tether which is a USD coin or better into bitcoin until the market does not become stable enough.
It's a good method of investing your funds, but to say that it's the best, I don't think that's a certainty, reason being that there are a lot of altcoins in the market and not all of them have the potential of making you get some earnings. A lot of them are scams and it is quite risky to invest in them.

I Believe that you need to invest when you have a knowing about where you are investing money. If you have studied the cryptocurrency market, then you should invest in altcoins. You mention an important point here on the forum not many people know about half of the available coins. For example, I don't know all the coins. If you know and you believe in the team and the growth of the coin, then take the risk.
Of course ,if you only buy altcoin at an early stage, then you can get a good profit .
