Although bitcoin is the leading cryptocurrency on the market, there are several different alternative digital coins are available on the market. Altcoins have the similar background as bitcoin, they are all based on blockchain technology although different technical algorithms and features are associated with each altcoin.

As of today there are almost thousand different altcoins have been issued to the market. The number of alternative digital currencies is growing every week as new coins hit the market through the ICO – the Initial Coin Offering processes.

Yes it is,it depends on how you choose a coin that you are going to trade
Look for some event that follow in the coin development like a release of new tech, rebranding or conference,it will affect the price and you can use that to make profit

For all of your die-hard Altcoin traders out there, share some input on your experiences or strategies you may have implemented/utilized to find success. I myself have had my fair share of dumb luck (knock on wood) but i'm interested to hear what some of you legends have to say.
Expecting people to tell you their loses experience or how they make profit without you narrating your own fair share is suspicious. When it come to the issue trading altcoin two things are involved, is either you lose or you make profit, which all depends on your experience and the knowledge of your crypto currency that you have over time.

The best way to make profit is to keep your self updated with current news and affairs going on within the crypto world. They are strongly related to market and the price. If someone well known or a famous site talks about a coins, we can see some significant rise of the price. Also spread your investment to few different coins. This was you are able to minimize your risks.

Ofcourse they are profitable but only when the trend is so bullish. For example altcoins were extremely profitable 4 months ago. We are all waiting for a new good trend time again.

of course it is profitable, if not profitable then there will not be many traders who succeed in their lives. I can say I am also a trader, but not an expert. I only do the main principle in trading that is buy low and sell high.

To answer your question, altcoin is insanely profitable. For example: I bought stratus in January when bitcoin was $950 @ 6k sat. I sold stratus in August when bitcoin was $4800 @ 200k sat.

Always buy coins when the price is down and everyone is in panic. You will surely get huge profit when everything are back to normal.

Altcoin trading is the most profitable. Indeed the risk of loss that may occur is same, altcoin gives a huge advantage. And in essence, only patience that gives maximum results.

Of course altcoin trading is profitable, if it's not then no one would bother with it. Trading in altcoin have a higher risk than trading in bitcoins, but if done right it could have a bigger profit even in short terms. Trading takes more knowledge and good strategies than just luck.

there is a simple way to get profit from altcoin trading. But its for small budgets.
You can look for minimum volume markets and buy from dips and put your sell order %50 profit then in a month or less some groups will pump that coin for sure.
Quick but small money.

It's not good every time. There are some risks compared with bitcoin trading. Altcoins are vulnerable to the news and updates coming from the different countries and they can react hard. It's for Professional traders and brokers, if you ask me.

Most people enter into some altcoin as a way of protecting themselves (hedge) against Bitcoin. Here are some reasons why someone does this, in case Bitcoin has some kind of catastrophic failure that altcoin may not be subject to. Also an altcoin may have some future utility that is significantly better than Bitcoin, which will allow altcoin to overtake Bitcoin. And even if Bitcoin remains the most valuable crypto, there will still be room for some altcoin to serve some other niche market and thus make it a valid bet.

I don't have much yet, but started with a few dollars worth from filling in surveys to having half a bitcoin.

Blockfolio is a good tool to use, often because of crashes and having coins in different places you don't feel like you're getting anywhere, Blockfolio just reminds me I'm heading in the right direction.

I'm not sharing my favourite strategy though.  Grin

Yes it is! Especially now that the market is very volatile and there were lots of price downs recently. Always buy coins when the price is down and everyone is in panic. You will surely get huge profit when everything are back to normal. I bought a coin last month and now I have 150% income from it. If I sell it a few weeks ago and I became impatient, maybe I will not have that kind of gain from it. Patient is the key to altcoin trading.

You are right. patience is the key to trading. we have to wait until the right moment to be a good profit. we also need to look at market prices and estimate all possibilities.

It’s completely depend on the strategy you use to trade if your looking for long term trade then invest on high potential coin like recent bitdice CSNO or aventus kind of tokens otherwise follow pump and dump group buy and sell coin but don’t greedy with short term trade take the profit in minimum margin.
Yes i do agree if your making proper strategy then thew will be a profit and also you can reduce the loss i believe in long term investment atleast for 3 months i dont believe in day trading.
You should also know that although altcoin trading is very profitable but altcoin trading has a considerable risk dude. you can see almost all altcoin is currently experiencing price declines. all altcoin graphs in exchange are red colour. it is a risk on altcoin trading. you also have to be smart in the analysis in order to avoid this situation
