Honestly, you said something very important because Bitcoin is in the first place in this crypto market. So Bitcoin's relationship with Alcoin didn't have much of an impact because you see that at the time Bitcoin was at 6,000 but I sold our income coins at a hefty price and now you see Bitcoin where 23,000 left but then didn't pump very good coins. The main reason is that now everyone is looking at Bitcoin and so I think Bitcoin and Alcoin both move at its own pace. It is my general idea, now you can tell your idea. Thank you.

They do slightly follow when BTC rallies however the problem is they dump much harder than 'rallies' when BTC corrects a bit.

I agree with you, the volatility we see in the bitcoin market tends to be much higher in the alt coin market. A rally usually has positive impacts for the alt coin markets. The correlation seems to be quite high in times of Sharpe rises or Sharpe declines.

Bitcoin is a hotseat of this year especially the bullish trend. No wonder that almost of the thread present in the section are all about bitcoin market price.

Now, with trendy aspect of bitcoin the altcoins had nothing to do with it. As had been observe that some altcoins had fall down and crashing while others are also being bullish just like bitcoin. In altcoins, no one could reay say that when bitcoin is good so it does to altcoin. One thing is sure about altcoins is that most altcoins fall down when bitcoin market crashes.

Most coins/tokens are priced in Bitcoin so when Bitcoin starts pumping, so is alt. That explains why altcoins follow Bitcoin bullrun. You will even noticed that in most exchanges and even the majority of DEX.
Yes exactly it is .When btc get started to pump we can see alt also turning out slightly but the main fact is that when btc has got the race alt look like stable .When we can see btc stable then alt are starting to pump .Its a normal behave of market .If we pass some time on the market we will have more idea then.

Sometimes we see When the BTC High then Alts move slightly. So, what's the correlation of Alts with BTC?

It's the way that one Bitcoin has a big impact on another altcoin. People say Bitcoin is the queen of virtual currencies so maybe everyone will follow the movement of Bitcoin.
Are you sure about this? what about this time? it doesn't seem altcoin is following the bitcoin trend and what's your conclusion about that? I do believe if altcoin will not always follow the bitcoin.
The news will bring the impact that even bitcoin can't affect the altcoin market. It seems like that theory was not true at all.
We must see the reality that's happening in the market right now.

Previous market history performances before shows that Altcoins are truly depending on Bitcoin performance that is why many traders are making the Bitcoin price as their baseline of their investment but I wonder why that this current all time high looks different than before in which Bitcoin price is really very far away from the Altcoins prices like the Ethereum that as far I remembered the price is $1.4K.

Sometimes we see When the BTC High then Alts move slightly. So, what's the correlation of Alts with BTC?

It is difficult to judge the relationship between BTC and altcoins, as the situation in the crypto market is often unpredictable. However, there is certainly a connection. I believe that when BTC goes up, the top altcoins also react and their price gradually rises, but this growth is not great, since, nevertheless, if altcoins are pumped, then only after the price of BTC rises. In general, I believe that often the rise in BTC contributes to the growth of altcoins. Now we have seen how BTC reached $ 24,000, at the same moment altcoins also reacted with a slight increase. So this is how it shows that there is a direct connection between them.

All you have to do is look at Coin Market Cap or Coingecko at the little charts at the left side and you will notice that most alts do follow BTC.

Initially the altcoins also went up, along with Bitcoin. But now the trend has reversed. Bitcoin prices are stable, while many of the altcoins are crashing. For example, XRP (Ripple) has lost more than half of its value during the last few days, and many of the alts were also affected by its drop. But Bitcoin prices seems to be stable and it was not influenced by the SEC lawsuit against Ripple.

Sometimes we see When the BTC High then Alts move slightly. So, what's the correlation of Alts with BTC?
You have answered your question about its correlation. There were times that it is correlated and there were times that it don't.

To answer your question as for your title, the altcoins will also follow bitcoin's rally. We don't know how long this rally will commence but it's usually coming after the btc bull run. Alts will start to take time of becoming bullish when bitcoin's done.

But as of the moment, there's no sign that bitcoin will stop.
All you have to do is look at Coin Market Cap or Coingecko at the little charts at the left side and you will notice that most alts do follow BTC.

Altcoins always follow the movement of bitcoin and only time will tell, it seems that nowadays everyone and investors give priority to bitcoin because it always dominates the market and its price continues to increase.
most likely they are very careful to invest in altcoins and that does not mean they are not, but prioritizing bitcoin because it is more promising, and I believe there will be changes to altcoins just need time and patience to wait and I also hold some altcoins and will be patient to wait until the time comes .

Hopefully we will see a repeat of altcoin pumps similar to 2018. But there needs so be a correction in btc first.
We will not see that happen again dude. This time altcoins were facing a big problem and ripple can die too.
The bitcoin will be the only coin that could be pumped by the institutional investors. Some companies are liquidating their position in the altcoins.
I see that some major altcoins were being affected caused by the on ripple that decrease the trust from the investors to keep their money into the altcoins.

Altcoins can be divided into 2 groups: those who follow bitcoin pumps and those who have their own pumps but usually follow the trend of the whole market.

The first group is like BCH, LTC, ETH... They follow bitcoin and usually do it pretty fast but with a reserve, so when Bitcoin pumps 10% they may go up 5%.
The second group pumps and dumps independently. Those are usually small and not very popular altcoins or tokens built on Ether, but even those coins dump when the market as a whole dumps, like when we had that US lockdown in Spring.

not all altcoins follow the direction of bitcoin,
we know that altcoins are very dependent on the community and their own holders,
so if bitcoins go up, then altcoins are likely to decline.
indeed, the effect of BTC on all altcoins cannot be equated, because we know that in crypto currency everything is alt (alternative coins), coins other than BTC. but the point is if in a like exchange dex / cex has altcoins that are paired with BTC then the price effect is extraordinary. for example eth.
1 bitcoin = 35 eth, when bitcoin goes up to
1bitcoin = 37 eth
then eth will automatically decrease in price due to the impact of the increase in bitcoin prices.

Your answer will be answered if you compare the movement of Bitcoin with altcoins, of course there is a connection between
Bitcoin and altcoins. Because most traders use Bitcoin pairing to trade altcoins, so surely Bitcoin price will affect the altcoins price.
So my advice is if you see the price of Bitcoin starting to go up, immediately convert the altcoins you have into Bitcoin, or you
can be patient waiting for the altcoins to rise in price.

Sometimes we see When the BTC High then Alts move slightly. So, what's the correlation of Alts with BTC?
The way btc is moving and maintaining its price while all other coins are dumping and bitcoin's dominancy is increasing, just signals an explosive btc run ahead, I expect 50k btc in few weeks because I have not seen such momentum from bitcoin in recent years.

If we are to compare and contrast last year bull run with this year, I will say altcoins didn't do much better than previous performances, perhaps it's because this movement was base on pure adoption and most alcoins aren't worth the real use case. DeFi was the only part that performed good at their time, though most of them collapse due to unforeseen circumstances and greediness among individuals.
Bitcoin did better just as it was heavily pump during 2017 but altcoins never followed it rally that's was why we couldn't make a trillion market cap.
I hope we do better in the coming years.

Sometimes we see When the BTC High then Alts move slightly. So, what's the correlation of Alts with BTC?

This actually happened in the last quarter of 2017 onto the first quarter of 2018 but it was suddenly put into an stop when Bitcoin's value was slightly stabilizing at certain points. The correlation is visible but we really should still consider the fact that not all Alternate Cryptocurrencies would rise along with Bitcoin since not all of them is branched off from Bitcoin. We should also consider Ethereum and Ripple as Crypto's that is also possible to rise in value.

Sometimes we see When the BTC High then Alts move slightly. So, what's the correlation of Alts with BTC?

Altcoins are more volatile than Bitcoin. Rather, we should expect the transfer of capital from Bitcoin to Altcoins. People will invest in Altcoins in the hope of higher returns. Almost every altcoin with a significant capitalization is traded in pairs with Bitcoin. Altcoins really depend on the behavior of Bitcoin.

Sometimes we see When the BTC High then Alts move slightly. So, what's the correlation of Alts with BTC?
If we examine the correlation, this can be seen through the platform used by Alt coins and through what network they used when Alt was developed, although in fact this does not really affect all Alt, but Alt which is already popular will certainly always be many like it so that people who like Bitcoin in general will also like the Alt coin which is really popular on the exchange, so the increase in some Alt coins will also be seen when Bitcoin moves up.
