No actually i don't think this can stop bitcoin or any other fiat from using for illegal activities as there are many ways from which hackers/criminals can pass through such KYC regulation and i have heard few cases where hackers/criminals have used fake identity proofs to get through exchange and withdraws.

As usual bitcoin are using for buying illegal drugs and its happening on my country too but goverment or police don't care about bitcoin they want the suspect of that crime and if bitcoin will be banned on my country i probably travel in to another country because i love bitcoin. I'm not so sure about that, most countries do not have the proper mechanism in place that would allow them to make sure people are using their Bitcoins within the law. I wouldn't be surprised if a large number of criminal organizations have already adopted Bitcoin as a means to transact under the radar. I mean let's face it Bitcoin really is the ideal money transfer system for criminals right now.

Yes bitcoin use for ellegal activities like fiat they use bitcoin because its more safe to transact and they can not trace it where it come from so many illegal activities now that they used bitcoin. They do not want to use bank because they provide identification before they open a bank account so many used bitcoin for them to hide their identity.
That is one of the big reasons why bitcoin now is in demand and we are seeing that the price has increased so much, I guess it will continue to progress in the future as more and more people are coming in to do their illegal activities and normally those who are doing illegal activities use big volume of bitcoins to transact, the would help the economy of bitcoin to progress in overall.

I think although Fiat is also used for illegal activities as well but I think it will not be as perfect as bitcoin, because you can be easily tracked when you use fiat to transact. with bitcoin you can not be tracked and there is no evidence of when you really use for illegal activities
