I'm happy with the decision to go for a hodl strategy, since daytrading took away my sleep, and it was still mostly luck based.
I believe a higher profit is possible with well-informed investments, which are held for months to years.

I remember that I used to spend a couple of hours in days for crypto as a hobby. I was engaged in trading and analysis, research of crypto market. Now I began to understand that crypto captures me deeper and deeper. I began to spend all weekend and sometimes almost whole days. I do not know if this is good, but the opportunity to earn extra money is very attractive

Right. It is quite similar to gambling. There are a lot of traders spending 10 hours a day 7 days a week trading on different exchanges. I use to trade too, using the arbitrage trading platform and it was pretty successful. Anyhow I'm wishing you a good luck!

I think the potential for the tech to change to world is enough to get people to sit up and take notice. To get the opportunity to participate in an a space with such huge potential is what gets people addicted

I heard about a guy in Moscow, who jumped out of the window, because he lost all his money in crypto investments and trading. So, do we have a new free heroin here? Is it possible to get addicted to crypto?

I wouldn't compare it with Heroin, that's a lil extremist, but i'm agreed about it can be highly addictive.

Some years ago i teach a friend about how to trade on exchangers. He doesn't jump off the window, but he wakes up like 5 times in the night just to verify his inversions. And that's because altcoins markets are too volatile, they can jump to +200% in a couple of ours, and those are the bumps investors don't wanna lose.

This friend end making a nice profit, like x5 from what he had started, and 5 months ago he decided to get out from the business, take the money and buy a car. Was a happy end for him, but wasn't easy to make that profit, a lot of stress behind each move.

And there are still a lot of people here who are willing to quit their job to go full time in cryptocurrency trading. Some even want to sell or mortgage their house. Others are maxing out their credit cards. Please stop or don’t ever think of doing any of the three. Resist the temptation. That guy gambled big time and lost, get-rich-quick or die trying.
I quit my job, now im a full time trader, joining some ICOs and holding several coin. Its a risk i willing to take, but it work for me, i make some good profit sometimes i lost is fine you cant make money without spending money.

Money is addiction, no matter what kind of: fiat or crypto. I remember when the last world financial crisis happened lots of ex-rich people who lost their money also jumped from windows, shot themselves and their families etc. So crypto addiction is not that new

I think there is a possibilty.Because a lot of people now especially the new traders, are greedy to earned more profits as fast as they can.And inorder to do this,it needs a lot of time to monitor the price of different crypto coins and to find traders who make rush trading because this kind of traders are usually selling coins at a lower price. And it is very addictive and fun.

Trading can be totally addicting! Stocks or crypto.
I think that it is good to have this in mind. I myself should also be carefull there!

Think by yourself:
What if price of BTC and altcoins will decrease with 75 %. So every 400 dollars are now 100 dollar. How would that make you feel?
And if it would stay there for 2-3 years? So no bullmarket for some time, which is possible. Can you handle this?

I think you have to much money in there if you cannot handle this. If this would change how you are as a person or how you act.

Are you there?
The only solution is to decrease your position to the level that you do not watch the BTC price as first thing in the morning.

Good luck to all!

Personally i feel the same rush as gambling, so it probably depends on your personality. I think people that have gambling addiction and discover crypto also become addicted to trading.

Off course it is an addiction:

"Trading in the financial markets is stimulating, exciting and engrossing. But you can become addicted, just like with actual casino gambling or using illicit drugs. Like any severe addiction, trading addiction can cost you your job, relationships and, of course, your financial resources. In this article we will talk about what causes trading addiction, the symptoms and how to break out of the downward spiral. The problem focuses on the brain and understanding how its reward systems can literally train you to trade compulsively and dangerously.

I wouldn't say addicted but just protecting our investments. Plus I wouldn't want to use anything that i can't afford to lose.

I think it depends on the personality of the individual, some people are more prone to display addictive or obsessive behaviour,  some of the most successful people are truly obsessed with what they are involved in because they want to succeed. Obsession could be termed as dedication depending on your viewpoint.  The more time and effort one puts in to something the better the rewards.  This is witnessed often in many areas the obssessed artist, musician, athlete and maybey the crypto trader.  I know myself if I get into something I will get in deep and dedicate a lot time to it because I to wish to succeed.  Im not addictedd to crypto but I could be a little obsessed or am I just dedicated.. I guess so, I'm so addicted in trading that I keep on watching my folio and the market even if I don't have fund to trade too because I'm on hold. Cheesy

it is good for you and if your coin is increased higher, you can sell it with fast and I am sure that you have many coins in your account. but sometimes we become sad when we know that this is a good time to buy the coin while we don't have fund. I think I am addicted too but I am not always to watch the price on my computer or my laptop but I use my android to watch the price. at least I open the apps for once in a day to see if the price increases or not.

I think it's not crypto trading that is addictive, but the act of making money / gambling.
Exactly, the thought of making more money is the reason He wants to trade in Crypto and that is what every trader wants. Crypto trading is all about patience and speculation of prices every now and then. I wouldn't call it an addiction because in order to trade well, one must always check the status of the Crypto You have invested in. Rather I would call it a requirement to be able to be a successful Trader. It may be called an addiction once You get so obessed that You will spend all your money savings just to trade crypto just like the guy he pertains to. But generally Crypto trading isn't an addiction.

That scenario is because of him being fully engage all of his momey imto trading and suddenly he loses all of it and that is somehow an addiction because maybe before he do that and he win a pot of money and the pleasure that the money gives are the one that are addictive because you can buy all the things that you ever wanted and when the time that he did mot meet that expectation and he posses all his funds he didnt kmow what to do.
