The question is vague and that guy must be a crypto newbie trader. It's like you are asking this, "is having an overtime addiction?" someone hasn't been paid with overtime so he killed himself for losing that money. It all depends to the emotion of the person who's into trading, if he can't the losses that's why there's a move called cut loss but for most of the experienced traders you will not see this type of act.

I heard about a guy in Moscow, who jumped out of the window, because he lost all his money in crypto investments and trading. So, do we have a new free heroin here? Is it possible to get addicted to crypto?
That's bad for us as community cryptocurrencies, i hope we don't blame the cryptocurrencies due to this accident and i don't think cryptos trading addiction, the main problem on the guy in Moscow he can not take control when investing in cryptos trading, should the people who want invest in cryptos, they must know about the risk in trading activity and never invested all of the money. It needs knowledge about management of money and risk in trading cryptos.
Emotion is the main factor why he decide to jumped out of the window which he didnt able to handle out the stress that it gives specially when we are on the losing side. We dont know whats the actual reasons but most likely losing huge money on this kind of case which might be possibly his last resort or last shot to invest and then suddenly lose it all and where stress, anxiety, uncontrolled temper would set it which it results to suicide.
Yes, should the people who want to invest into cryptos coins especially in trading alternative coins, will be better to know about the psycology of trading, it will helps for traders to take full control of their emotions in trading activity and it will helps to be sucessfull in trading activity, unfortunately there are no many people who know about the psycology of trading and there are no many source of information that talking about the psycology of trading, so the traders must learn by them selves about it.

Due to the individual nature it is possible that some people may not be able to control their emotions. In trading which is mostly speculative, traders are always asked to put in only what they can afford to lose to avoid this kind of ugly situation.

Like every other addiction ,you will get a high doses of dopamine which is the chemical released in the brain whenever you get a reward or hapiness . So when trading those profits you will make are rewards that rather seem easy and very satisfying to get . By time you will get used to that feeling of winning and you start looking for more and more , but when you lose It will be way harder for you to get through it . Because the more profits you make the more dopamine is released every time and when you lose it will you hit you way harder than the first time . So you could safely say trading is as addictive as gambling.

It depends on every person sometimes the effect on what we do causing to become addictive. In his case I think he did not take truth about losing his money the emotions dominate him, so in every decision what we do set your mind that you can control your self.

On my own perspective, i gues it depends on the person if he/she will be addicted in crypto trading, because if you earn a lot of money and become successful in crypto trading maybe that's the time that you'llget addicted, but if you lost all your money in trading, haha i don't know if you'll still be addicted in trading.  Smiley

And there are still a lot of people here who are willing to quit their job to go full time in cryptocurrency trading. Some even want to sell or mortgage their house. Others are maxing out their credit cards. Please stop or don’t ever think of doing any of the three. Resist the temptation. That guy gambled big time and lost, get-rich-quick or die trying.

Yep. The most important rule that you need to know before you start investing is never invest in cryptos more than you can afford to lose. Then such tragic incidents will not occur

I think it's not crypto trading that is addictive, but the act of making money / gambling.

yes it is kind of like gambling because you never know if you are gonna "win" or "lose" depending on the market state.. however if people jump out of a window it's because they invested money they weren't prepare to lose.. which nobody should do

I believe it is not the crypto trading is addictive it is the way it will make money out of what you are trading. I knew a person who resign from his fotmer job engaging in trading and bounty campaigns for his living. I dont think there is any wrong there. Though you call it addiction but it is not as negative as drug addiction. Is your job addictive? Cause you are in it all day? I dont think so.

It depends primarily on the person himself. I myself trade. And I like it. When I'm tired of trading, I just do not trade. And I try to reduce my risks to a minimum. I'd rather earn less, but I will not lose anything. And to trade can not be treated as a game in a casino. This will not forgive the crypto currency market and will punish it.
In the recent past I have mainly invested in ICO projects and kept long term instead of trading as before. When I first joined the cryptocurrency market, I really enjoyed trading day because it gave me the feeling of watching the value of the crypto that I invested. But I lost more than profit when trading because the market fluctuated too large and I could not keep up with its progress.

Yes I think It is possible addiction of crypto trading essipecially bounty. If you invest a lot of money, the addiction is getting bigger. it is necessary to invest in guarantee coins rather than being an adventurer.

Trading requires a lot of attention and a lot of time, whether this is addiction or hard work? Hard to say, it could be either or both.
If you are addicted and it brings good result like you are profitable then I would say it's good for you.
There is nothing wrong in putting your time and effort in trading because we all want to develop ourselves as we want to be successful.
However, trading is not a job that makes you depend on it too much!
You have to remember trading can not create more money, it is very simple, transfer money between the traders.

It is possible to call it so. Because it is a game with risks and luck sometimes. Some people take it too serious though, just like that guy... Trading is a very nervous process, I should say. Hate when people call it "easy money".

People who experience such dependence are better not to deal with crypto, and you need to invest as much as it is not a pity to lose. Apparently the guy invested not only all his money but also borrowed money.

Unfortunately the answer is yes. It is definetely an addiction. I realized it that i have been started to wake up a few times every night and check my portfolio and some cryptocurrency prices. It is not a good thing when you have a family.
