I am a long term supporter  of Ethereum and  know that it is the most trusted network to create smart contracts but the kind of Huge fees for withdrawal and swapping of tokens, we have to nowadays due to slow network or congestion , is going to make it unpopular coin in coming months and other networks like, Binance, EOS, Polka Dot may take its place . The issue with Ethereum is that its developers are trying to scale running Blockchain which is like repairing a car while driving.

I think you forget that the new ETH 2.0 is coming

The current ETH (POW) is already reaching its limit.

So the new ETH 2.0 (POS) with improvements is being prepared!

Wait for it ...

As far as I know the fee of ethereum has soared exponentially just because of defi craze I still remember to one of my friend who paid over $150 in fee of ethereum in order to claim very normal nft but I think transaction fee will reduce once defi and nft craze will be gone

Ethereum is the most popular altcoin but of course it is not encouraging that you have to pay huge sums for the transfers of cryptocurrencies that are created on the Ethereum blockchain, but I will hope that Ethereum developers will do something about it or I will have to deal less with Ethereum because if you do a lot of cryptocurrency transactions on the Ethereum blockchain, then you will lose a lot of money due to high transaction fees.

Ethereum will not die, and on the contrary, it will get bigger after the upgrade.
Ethereum is the king of altcoins and so far no other altcoin can match up. Including some that you mentioned, they are a long way from what ethereum has got.

We can not say that Ethereum is going to die knowing the fact is on #2 position as a trading volume and as cap. About the fees you should not worry . Ethereum is cheaper than Bitcoin when it comes to transactions fees and speed. I know there may be also other coins who are fast than these 2 but they are safest as a investments

With a large market cap value and also being very actively traded on various exchangers, I think ethereum will still remain in the cryptocurrency market for a long time. Maybe this time a lot of new coins are emerging but I think ethereum will still be the king of altcoins for a long time

I have similar thoughts about ETH, there are so many investors in the coin. The market is fairly big compared to other coins, so in my opinion there is no chance that ETH is just going to die. With the bitcoin price so high at the moment, there will probably investors looking for other coins again. I would not sell my ETH at the moment.

Only recently I converted to ETH but not as a supporter or believer or whatever,,, but as a recognizer that they are finally doing something right and I do think they are undervalued in price because the demand and utility is surely there.

ETH 2.0 Vitalik just said this week is coming sooner than expected (but he could be wrong) and that should solve the fee issues that causes price to be low.

The rise in the transaction fee is much discussed as a big issue with the growth of ethereum. Same as this Bitcoin has been said to be dead for several reasons. Particularly the network congestion and the confirmation delay is always stated as a prime reason. Ethereum going towards death is not gonna happen. The update of ethereum 2.0 will make a big change in the entire network and market of ethereum.
True, bitcoin already said to be dead for god know how many times and here we are although there's no real solution to btc fee other than lightning network or maybe i'm missing something but btc turns out to be functional right now. ethereum 2.0 update will certainly be the most important turn point for eth to reach an even higher adoption and increase in value hopefully.

Ethereum survives in 2017 when price was over 1500$ per ETH, the transaction fee was way too high but still many are using ethereum at the time, if the same thing happens again Ethereum isnt going to die because of it, at least its not the first time, i believe many coins will have high transaction fee if they surge higher in value.

You made mention of EOS, how many years since it's inception and it hasn't succeeded in beating Ethereum, even Binance chain is yet to, so I do not think there is any out there which can succeed. Yes, in the last months the fee was very high and discouraging even network congestion was not helping matters but that didn't stopped people from using it for whatever endeavour they want, that also didn't stopped upcoming projects from leveraging the blockchain to build their projects, so what does this mean? It means that, till date, Ethereum blockchain offers the best of services, and this is the reason why many blockchains has tried to beat it, but couldn't. Lastly, with the forthcoming Ethereum blockchain upgrade, I believe a lot of new changes will be witnessed which will help make the blockchain more better and stronger. Therefore, to answer your question, Ethereum is not going to die but will continue growing as it has been doing.

More interesting progress and developments will going to happen in Ethereum for upcoming months and years. It won't die. Eventually, there are already previous speculations that eth wouldn't lasts long but here it is, still standing next to bitcoin. In line with this, other coins attempted to replace ethereum but failed because the trust and reputation of investors goes to this coin.

Ethereum will not going to die, it is already been trusted in crypto field so there are so many people that still used and hold ethereum that is why it will always rise after a huge falling of the price.

Not really going to die or become unpopular. ETH is being developed and being updated recently and what OP said ETH is being repaired while driving. Once it will be fixed, I think it will still be good. The more projects using the network, the more transactions going to clog like the old problem that is making it undesirable.

Its not going to be replaced but some developers might choose a faster network like TRON or EOS but more projects on ETH means more demand for ETH which is why it's still a good investment.

The future is full of surprises I belief, but nothing can change that fact that ethereum is the best altcoin today, Polkadot will find its way as it's the best competitor of ethereum right now but it can do better without overtaking ethereum, the high transaction issue will be fixed after December 2020 and many loyal ethereum users don't care much

We have to trust ethereum in time like this, if you have to observe the current trend right now the difficulties was there already. Struggles for every coin has come to a point where every holders tend to give, but I recommend everyone to stay strong. That doesn't end there, altcoins hasn't yet come alive and it was just sleeping while bitcoin rises to the top and didn't mean eth is going to die. This situation made us realize how life must go on and learning how to survive.

we don't know what lies ahead. however, the fact is that ethereum is still the best altcoin to date. to be honest I am also a long-term supporter of ethereum, and believe in its development. large fees also occur because of so many transactions, and this is also the case with bitcoin. however, I still believe that ethereum will maintain its current position.

You should just wait for ETH 2.0 staking they said it's gonna fix the scalability issue and most likely solving the ridiculous fee and network congestion but the staking itself still a long way to go.
But, even if the network congestion problem not solved. Ethereum is not gonna die, by logic if more and more people switching from etheruem to another platform the network congestion will gone then the endless cycle starts until the devs fix the core problem.
I mean the fact that ethereum network congestion still going on until now means it's still "quite" popular isn't it? never once the question whether etheruem gonna die exist in my mind ever at this point.
