It completely depends on the way we treat them because if you wait patiently we can able to see the potential about them. Holding long time will also kill us we have to move according the market situations.

based on my opinion holding of Altcoins are not really dangerous unless you haven't review the composition of the team, the white paper, their road maps, their goals after launching their ICO. On this industry you must have patience to review all the related contents so that you can anticipate or predict your holdings and investment to increase in the future. Best of Luck finding good profitable Altcoins Smiley

I do not think that the altcoins will fail today! I calculate for the growth of this currency this year as well.

I agree that holding alts are dangerous same as holding bitcoin , there was just lot of risk when investing on alts compare to bitcoin since most of the alts can be easily manipulated , there was lot of return on alts and lot of risk also , so if you have a big risk appetite you could invest on alts and you may gain a lot of returns in the near future.
Yes, you have a point in there. Holding alts is also dangerous it is because it is part of a crytocurrency market. We all know the volatility of the thread so we must be more cautious of what is happening in crypto market.

Last year alts rise a lot. I dont know the average percentage. But when I check coins in the market at year 2013 lots of them dead now (too low ranks). probably new tech coins won them (like peercoin, namecoin, ixcoin etc)

Also we are following new ICO s and most of us expecting too much gain from new coins which are not at the market. If our ICO expectations will happen, when they added to market, current market coins will go down. kind of paradox  Huh
If you can choose an Altcoin that has good prospects and promises for the present and the future, I do not think that would be a danger. You will be a danger if you invest in Altcoin which is not the good development and also the price. So you must be careful in choosing the Altcoin you want to invest, let alone invested in the long term. You have to choose a really good coin and the price can be very high.
If the altcoin is now stored potentially good when dihold in the long run it is not a problem may be an opportunity to increase in terms of prices will occur, otherwise it may get a high profit. so hold coins I think will not be as dangerous as long as the coins are potentially.

If you simply hold altcoins without doing the necessary research, then it could be extremely dangerous. Some people go with the hype and forget that they invested on hype-d coins and the problem with this is that the hype, DIES. When the hype dies you will be stuck with a low value coin that can't even be sold because there is no volume.

As they always say, DYOR. Do your own research.

dangerous if you can't wait too freaked out if at any time the price of the coin falls, it's usually done by novice investors who hold their coins.

Most of them will fail, it depends on which coins you hold. If you hold coins with no chance, then you are very likely to fail with them in the future. Good coins may die as well.

As I think it is not, keeping or selling it depends on your ability and market conditions, if you need money to see you can sell it and vice versa there is no dangerous problem. so is holdng alts not dangerous

Obviously, alts are more riskier than bitcoin but the risk factor will be different for every altcoins. Generally, the topmost altcoins can be considered less risky so majority of portfolio should be in bitcoin and top altcoins. Only invest small amounts in ICOs  and low cap alts.

Not at all. If you have a good selection of altcoins, and you can hold them for 2 years to 3 years , it can a return of ten times your initial capital. Coins like Ether, waves and Neo are good for holding and not dangerous at all.

So far I think holding Altcoin harmless. The price movement of altcoin in coinmarketcap influenced by Bitcoin is not a dangerous thing, Bitcoin does have an influence on Altcoin.
But we also have to understand not all Altcoin able to compete in the existing Crypto market is sinking because its value is very low.
Therefore, choose a coin that has good potential to survive in coinmarketcap.

Yes, holding altcoins is dangerous. Because of that I hold small amount of altcoins for long term. I use altcoins for short term investments.

I think so. This is due to the fact that when the market is at the stage of correction, many token holders do not sell them, and the price in any case falls. As a result, the price of the token falls significantly.

In a growing market, this is not dangerous, as it brings very good profits. But the market can turn around and bring you losses.
