In general, it is not profitable at all, but it does not mean, we should not do it at all. There are, and will IMO always be ICOs, which themselfes are profitable, it is just hard to find them lately, and takes much more effort, but a good ICO is still better investment, than any Altcoin in my view.
From time to time, there are some ICOs that are giving you profit. But it is getting harder and harder to avoid scam projects or to avoid investing in projects that would not reach their soft cap. I hope with the next green market, everything will get better.
Yes, of course, it is still very profitable but finding a good ICO project now is indeed difficult. And to find a good ICO you must be diligent in reading this forum and you will get more knowledge. So you can determine a good project and can give you a big advantage.
If you are a newcomer this is a difficult thing to find a good ICO especially if you have no idea what to look out for or where to do research or who to trust. Besides, this is not as profitable as before.

Hello everyone, I have seen many failed projects recently. I have received many emails regarding investing on ICOs, so is it still a good time to invest? I didn't made good with my earlier investments. Is there still a future for ERC-20 tokens?
It is still good to invest in ICO but pick the best project which have very promising and usable coin which is applicable to our daily life , and regarding to erc 20 token is also in demand to most of the people in cryptocurrency .
It is better to find out more in the project to be invested because a lot of the current projects are unsuccessful and stop without further information.
Investing with an ico project is beneficial only if it is a project, not a Scam. 90% of all ICOS are fraud. Investing in ico is a huge risk.
At the moment, there are still projects that do not fall in price after entering the stock exchange, but there are very few of them. Most projects fall in price very much. therefore, personally, I temporarily stopped participating in Iko and bought the coins I liked on the stock exchanges.
Around 6 -8 months before most of the ICOs launching were hitting their hard caps and giving profit to the investors as after the launch price was going up. But now 90% of them are failing because of too much scam. It can still give profit if you select wisely. So better to analyze properly and select the one which can give profit.

I'm sure that most of the tokens ERC20 won't survive after this crypto storm. Only those ones that give a real value will stay on the market. And if you are a lucky owner of such tokens then you can easily become a millionaire just in a year or a few. Be sure of that)
If you want to invest in ICO, of course you will get a profit, but before investing, first study the projects that you will invest, including websites, white paper, road maps, and most importantly, in my opinion, Team.
I think investment at ICO is still profitable, even though sometimes after their token is listed in an exchange sometimes the price will be dumped, but remember you also get a bonus when buying tokens during the ICO so I think it's worth it. considering the price of the token can also increase in the future
Seek ones with the backing from respectable Venture Capital Funds, these might be a good sign to invest in an ICO.
In my humble opinion, Yes it's still profitable investing ICO but you must do some good research first to prevent losing your money or being scam. You must have a standard taste of ICO. As what I experienced this past months, most of the ICO are scams or a big failed because when they get listed the price was so far from the ICO,like 70% to 90% down. That is why we must be wise when investing in ICO.
I think they are only really profitable in the long run now, as many are struggling to reach softcaps even. Still some amazing tech being released
In this year (2018), i don't think so investing in ICO's is profitable. this year counts in the worst year of cryptocurrency because lot of projects are scammed and market condition is not good for whole year (just one month left). But that doesn't mean it will go continously, next year may be we get something changes in market and in ICO projects too. So never lose hope!
