Some altcoins show good growth last days. You need to undestand and BTC influence top of market only, but not the entire market. I hope you got my point.
Altcoins usually follow btc , so if bitcoin is moving down then alts will drop too . If you are a holder any assets , of course you will not be satisfied that your asset falls in value. On the other hand, if you are a potential buyer and are looking for a good entry point, then the price drop is only good for you. Thus everything depends on the point of view.
It is bad for top altcoins, but when you look down below, there are so much tokens that does not care about BTC prices and they are the future of the indusrty.
Many of first and the oldest altcoins were based on BTC, so there is obvious that they are connected. Some of them may even completely copy BTC.

Keep in mind that many altcoins are based on BTC model, so they will do the same things as BTC. On the other hands, we need stable BTC to make people sure about future of industry.

Yes for now all the altcoin market is pegged to bitcoin I don't think they can hold their price if bitcoin drop anyways good luck in your investment
