It's very difficult to distinguish which projects are real and scams, I've tried my best to invest in promising projects, but still get scammed, I think this is a risk, an opportunity for big profits if you meet a good project, there will always be a scam project.

it is impossible but i will advise having separate wallets. you can create a special wallet for holding ethereum and tokens you trust that will do well. this is my suggestion. try as much as possible to have a wallet that does not interact with dapps. a wallet for storing long term projects. for all chains. for whatever platform you have your funds inside. make sure you have separate accounts.

Do you think it is possible to completely get rid of scams?
Yes if all of the investors will not let themselves to get scam.
Unfortunately, this will just happen in our dreams because there will always be investors who will fall into different types of scams.

Hello everybody. I think everyone who has ever been involved in cryptocurrency investments is interested in the question of how to protect themselves from scams and loss of money. Recently I learned about the CheckDot project, which creates a platform with which it will be possible to get an assessment of any project in the blockchain world. In theory, this way you can get rid of a lot of scams, but does it help?

What do you think, is it possible to somehow get rid of scams among crypto projects?
Well, this thread is just an advertisement thread after all Cheesy.
Getting rid of scams in crypto space isn't impossible but with what we are seeing, I don't think that it will happen and many are thinking of that too.
Scams will always be there whatever happens. On the other hand though, scams will be eradicated if "all" of the investors will not fall into scams. I quoted all because I want to emphasize that all of us must learn and research before investing in order for us to not fall into the scams out there.

I think it's impossible to get rid of a project that is likely to deceive a lot of participants because we don't have the capacity. but to avoid fraud I think there are still many ways, namely by analyzing a project and doing further research.
The point is that every project that deceives many participants should be reported to the rightful party (the moderator) in this forum.

Use your brain.  If something sounds too good to be true then it is!  Greed is the reason people get scammed.  Greed has been around forever and so will scams preying on Greed.  So the answer is no but you can avoid them by just not being naive.  Use your head.
I do agree that if something sounds too good to be true then usually it is just a pure scam. I agree that there is a good chance that all those big name high level things end up not being such a huge deal back in the day, so it is clear that it doesn't have to look great, it needs to just look like it has potential and it is being worked on and if it is worked on decently then I would have to imagine that something should look like it is a big work in order for it to be good.

Think about it this way, ADA is very long term thing and when it first started it didn't look like there is nothing happened for years, then we end up with something that is great for a while, why? Because it was something that is risky at first and it was a big problem if they failed doing something then it wouldn't even be here and it would fail long time ago however it didn't pan out that way and they actually made it work for something.

There is no single solution to this, you just have to maintain your due diligence.  Even if the platform works, it shows that you still rely on the other party to decide which is 'valid' and which is not, which is certainly not the norm.  Getting rid of scams is extremely impossible.  But prevention strategies can.  Many newcomers are being cheated so how do you plan to help them.  Complete guidelines, reminders and all warnings.

Since October I invested around $800 to buy new listed coins, unfortunately many of the new listed coins that I bought now dropped and I lost more than 75%, this is of course an important lesson that we shouldn't be too easy to buy coins because many are scams even though Initially the pump was big.
What do you expect from shitcoin. New coins listed are not yet fully tested in the market, so the risk is very high. Greed and ignorance can make a person lose everything. Now how do you feel after losing 3/4 of the value of your investment. To avoid the risk of loss, you can invest in coins that perform well over time.

You can not avoid scam, it will happen to you soon or later. I was very be careful and I got scam twice and lost couple of Ether because of that. So i know lots of people face same problem with crypto, it mostly because those coin creator can easily hide their identification. so none will be able to catch them.

we can't avoid them but not stop scammers as they still find a way to succeed. if we are too careless and do not even help ourselves to do research before investing or that because someone suggested, I can really imagine of losing.

Honestly, I was not familiar with this project but I have no intention to dig this deeper just to know if that is a legit or a scam thing. You have to check this thoroughly and don't get tempted with a huge offer because this is the common market offer that scammers do in order to attract investors.

Avoiding it is rather easy to be honest, you just dont invest into something that offer unrealistic return of investment because thats what they usually use to try lure greedy victims into their hand and rob them off their money. The reason why so many has fallen to become victims of unrealistic investment is because the victims themselves also gets too greedy that they can’t think rationally and started to invest randomly and as a result most of their investment become a big failure because they always try to get the biggest return of investment while we all know that such investment usually is out of logic and is simply just a dream. If any, it’s just those scammers.Only invest in a legitimate tokens or coins so that your investment will be safe, its better to get lower ROI than losing all of your money.

It is impossible to get rid of scam but it is possible to avoid scam projects. The flip to that avoidance is the limited opportunities! The bigger the risk, the bigger the reward! If you limit yourself only to bitcoin and other established altcoin, you may notake more money in cryptocurrency or the time at which you get return on your investment will be long!

In order not to be trapped by a scam project, it can actually be minimized, although it cannot be completely avoided, but taking anticipatory steps is much better. Even experienced investors can be fooled. Usually, many scam projects promise lucrative profits, so don't be easily influenced. continue to investigate whether the project and the team's performance are developing in a healthier direction or not. if not then better leave it alone.
You are right, scandalous projects promise good lucrative profits, which is enough to fool even the experienced ones. So to avoid scam projects we must analyze the project well before investing.

No! Because there are many types of scams you can't think or even predict methods of scams. Scamers are expert to make new ideas and ways to scam innocent people. If you make fail one scam they use another method or its going on...
Crypto scammers do not have a permanent job other than thinking of new ideas to deceive people and also creating new ways so that they can freely carry out their work in the crypto space without guilt.

Since I joined this forum, there have been many topics like this and there has been a lot of effort in the forum and out there to identify fraudulent projects. but these efforts are still not maximized because there are still many fraudulent projects hanging around. I think fraudulent projects are constantly upgrading their methods of attracting investors, this is what makes it difficult to identify them day by day.
a lot of people are discussing it because a lot of people are very annoyed with scammers. well, it's a digital crime, so I think it's also always evolving and adapting to current circumstances. So, people ask how to get rid of it.
however, the most effective way to get rid of it is to improve our quality as potential investors. that way, we can choose a more convincing investment than choosing a potential scammer. although that's not 100% getting rid of it, but I think, for yourself, you are more likely to choose a project that actually develops the project over a scammer.
however, getting rid of a scammer is to find an oddity in the project and share information about it on this forum, or on social media. that way I think the scammer will disappear. although that doesn't guarantee whether they will come back or not.

Do you think it is possible to completely get rid of scams?
It is absolutely impossible to get rid of scammer in cryptocurrency, they continue to grow like parasites that unsettle crypto user. They always promise high returns and unrealistic lure are still their weapon, and will usually end in the loss of investor funds.

Traders should already know how to avoid cryptocurrency scam. The two things that cause many people to be deceived are ignorance and greed. Investors must be selective in distinguishing which investment programs are valid, and schemes that smell like scam. An alternative way to avoid scammer is to know the proper initial steps.

So is CheckDot another token/cryptocurrency which investigates if a project is a scam or not? The project itself sounds like a scam project to be honest (no surprised they are on BSC). How are they going to verify if a project is a scam or not? Why do we even need them? If someone is investing in a project, he should do his own research and see if there are any red flags or not. And then there are also many auditing services that let you know if a project is going to be legit or likely going to scam everyone.
And no. No projects will be able to get rid of scams. Scams are here to stay. You just have to be careful.
