It is possible if most of us are educated about what scams are. But there will always be the newbies that are not aware of it and just learning the process through their experience.
But as talking about the possibility that all of us of being literate about determining the scams then it's a no. We need to be the majority to deal and tackle about knowing the scams so everyone can avoid it.

Can you also depend on that whatever platform you mentioned to avoid scams? Such platforms won't guarantee you that they can just "assess" a project head on.
Why depend on another project when can you just assess it by your own?

I recall OP mentioning CheckDot project quite few times now from his other post history.

Its so easy to prevent, just always keep in mind to always make research if someone offer you something around the internet or you need something especially when it comes buying stuff and etc. Be aware! Specific information is a must wherein never trust anyone remember that. . Don't easily fall to anything such what you see around the internet because that's how its start or should i say most common mistake of newbies..  So be smart or stay away instead for your safety.

I wouldn't go as far as "easy". You need to be aware of LOTS of things and even if you are aware of most tricks, you are still in a risk of trusted third parties getting hacked or exit scamming, your accounts hacked and numerous ways people will try to social engineer your keys.

But there's one good rule. If something is too good to be true, someone is most likely scamming you.

Do you think it is possible to completely get rid of scams?

Hello everybody. I think everyone who has ever been involved in cryptocurrency investments is interested in the question of how to protect themselves from scams and loss of money. Recently I learned about the CheckDot project, which creates a platform with which it will be possible to get an assessment of any project in the blockchain world. In theory, this way you can get rid of a lot of scams, but does it help?

What do you think, is it possible to somehow get rid of scams among crypto projects?

Perhaps the most basic question is can the CheckDot site be trusted? The extent to which the role and function of their team in assessing a project. Are they almost the same as the SEC in auditing crypto? Because previously there were sites that gave ratings to new projects, and we choose the best rating with a verified team, but in the end, there were also scams.
I think for sites it is not so difficult to increase reting and not here should be the benchmark that we see for investing, many site developments that are carried out cannot guarantee the coin in the future, even if the reting of the site is getting better , there are also projects being developed just disappear, it would be nice if the site did not become the main reference source to start investing.

Rather than being alone, having this kind of services to help us to find out scams definitely a good thing to have in this crypto space because each and every day we need to face lots of scam attempts and just by ignoring alone lots of people are protecting themselves. But, if you turn greedy then definitely you will end up got cheating/hacked. So, I have to appreciate your efforts heading up about this service.

Still, just by checking with this website alone will not protect us completely. We need to learn how usually scams are happening and how to spot out it and how to ignore it. Because, only self awareness alone I will help anyone at any kind of situations because no website will be capable of covering all type of scam attempts.

It is possible if you stick to well recognized and most valued projects. Unfortunately, most of us are blinded by the huge gains of shitcoins and become easy target for scammers, but if you are not too greedy, you will be able to avoid unreal promises and stick to top gems which have a solid team behind who doesnt hide behind anonymity.

No you can not avoid all scams because there is high risk when investing in cryptocurrency or the project like some of the projects looks legit but end it up scam. The scammers are smart now so you must be careful when investing the project, just carefully research the project so you will not losing money easily.

Scammers are everywhere, even there's a project that will introduce this kind of features scammer will simply find ways.

Admit it, they are also reading and doing their own research, they are better in finding the suitable ways to attract and allure their targets,
it's better to keep digging and make sure to investigate before your invest your money to any available prospect that you have in mind.

taking your time is your number one tool, it will save your butt with the scammers.

I suggest not buying random coins because we can be tricked by coins that give false hope that their coins will go very high. Before buying coins, we better go to their website so we can get clearer information about their project. In addition we also have to look at their social media, from their social media we can get information from their followers whether many recommend that the coin is very good or not.

Scammers are everywhere in the community but there are some ways to avoid them and also to identify them in any particular environment. The best way to avoid them is to be more active in the forum information, so that you can get all the information you need to avoid scam in the community.  Never you run after cheap things in the community because those are the things scammers use to scam altcoin investors and also to reduce them in profit making. Always make your personal research before approaching any projects because there are some fake projects in the market .
Always listen to your facilitators in the community for you to be free from  scammers in the market.

I will be honest and as a newbie in the past I had been scammed a few times too and I must say that all you newbies are really lucky.
You people have all the information that is needed to prevent yourself from being scammed but back in those days falling prey to a scam was really easy.
I have learnt from my experience and was never scammed from the past 4 years. We can prevent ourself from getting scammed by taking the necessary security measures.
There are many types of scams happening every week, try to read about it and find out how scammers scam the people.
Learn from the mistakes of others and it will help you from getting scammed.

Scams have been in existence for ages before the creation of bitcoin. It's quite unfortunate that we find ourselves among scammers duping us of our hard earn money in the crypto sphere. As it stands now there's nothing no one can do to get rid of scammers cos they do operate in different forms, promising good fortune to their investors which will end up being a scam.
The best and only way to follow them is to report them when you see one. By so doing we'll be able to reduce the number of people that will fall into their fraudulent acts in crypto.

what kind of assessment do you mean?
there are so many sites that judge blockchain or cryptocurrency projects, but they only judge based on the completeness of project, team, and other information. however, there is still huge potential to be a scam. even, looking back at some projects, such as Centra, even those projects have been successful. however, due to some irresponsible people, the project is now labeled as a scam project.
What I mean to say is, it's very difficult to get rid of scammers or avoid them if these people have real intentions to scam their investors. the only thing that can minimize this is to find out in-depth information about the project with the standards we have. You can use information sites about crypto to see their social media, white papers, and more. read it, find out for yourself about how active the team is in developing the project.

This kind of thing is impossible to do. after all, fraud and cases of theft will continue to exist forever because this is something that will exist because of human nature.
as long as they are greedy and evil things like this will continue to exist.
on the other hand human attitudes like this will always exist.
maybe for someone who wants to change, they can certainly but on the other hand there is a proverb that says one dies grows a thousand and things like this also apply here, those who are eradicated by one person will come another scammers.

I usually report this thread because this is a soft shill for Checkdot project but I don't to reduce my report accuracy so I will just leave a comment here. The OP or the PR team of that project should just create there ANN thread and post this kind of discussion there. This is very unfair to other project that limiting there announcement or discussion on a single thread. I observe that many newbies are doing this indirect shilling since last week. I admit that this is a good strategy but this unfair by tricking user by introducing a topic related to the project then shill the project like they really don't know what's they are doing. I'm starting to doubt about the credibility of this project for doing such a cheap trick.
Yea, it is maybe an engaging strategy, but it's far to be called a good strategy. The project makes me irritate, honestly. The idea sucks and it won't stand a chance nor scale further. I tricked on another post, I thought that the user genuinely asking, but they are all shilling it.

Some might argue that there is no bad publicity, but the way the so-called-preventing-scams project, using the marketing campaign who is like most of the known shitcoins and scams project, really tells what is the project all about.

Yes and no, if you take the safest approach which is to invest only in bitcoin and then when the moment comes for you to use a service like and exchange, casino or some other service you do your due diligence, I will say that your chances of reducing the number of scams to a minimum and be close to zero are very high, however if you want to invest in unknown altcoins and use new services without a reputation then even if you do your due diligence and use external review sites then this is not something you can do, as the number of scams in this market is huge.

As for me, it isn't possible but you could always find ways to get rid of it. Doing a series of research would be an advantage and being observant and skeptical has an edge. Just keep in mind that not everything that we read on the internet about a certain coin is true so doing follow-up research is still necessary.

Crypto market is full of scams and irony is that there is no absolute method to avoid these scams. We can minimize the risk of getting scammed by doing research (very serious type), there is no other method. Even there are people who invested in projects after doing weeks of research and the project turned out to be a scam. You can read or post about the coin you want to invest in here, read what senior members say about that.
Crypto market scams will always be inevitable and so there are still no perfect ways on how to combat them, we just need to do more diligence in making researches because its the best way so we can prevent from being scam. But there are still instances that even how well you prepared for that project and even have sleepless nights from doing researches, but at the end of the day, the project just only happen to be a scam. Maybe let's just accept the fact that scamming will be here for a lifetime, and so we need extra efforts to avoid scams as much as we want to.

Not possible to get rid of scams in crypto space. Recently one project scammed a lot of investors although project was having solid concept and did the kyc. But team just deleted all social medias and disappeared after collecting million dollars. Not only this, many successful projects also rugged pull after doing IDO. So none knows when team will rug pull the project.
