Do you think it is possible to completely get rid of scams?
No, we cant get rid scams completely.

In some cases even we did our part to avoid scam projects, sometimes we still end up to be on that unfortunate situation. However there's always a way to prevent ourselves becoming a victim and that is by having knowledge and careful on projects to invest in.

Do you think it is possible to completely get rid of scams?

in general it is not possible because there will always be someone new who will fall for these scams, which can happen Is the number of scams will be reduced due to the great publicity that people can do to warn about scam projects, take an example from this forum due to the great commitment of the community in alerting people about scam it was possible to reduce the cases of scam and scammers appear little in this forum. this can also happen all over the internet

Do you think it is possible to completely get rid of scams?

What do you think, is it possible to somehow get rid of scams among crypto projects?

No, it's not possible but with proper knowledge, we can avoid being scammed.

There's a tricky part in doing scams like a project showing a good development and active team. In that situation, people will never think that someday that project will be a scam. Since there's no way to determine that scam will happen on that project, it's like taking the risks. Just be extra careful, at any cost, choosing a project or coin to invest in.

Hello everybody. I think everyone who has ever been involved in cryptocurrency investments is interested in the question of how to protect themselves from scams and loss of money. Recently I learned about the CheckDot project, which creates a platform with which it will be possible to get an assessment of any project in the blockchain world. In theory, this way you can get rid of a lot of scams, but does it help?

IMO, i don't think it will be completely possible to get rid of cryptocurrency scams as scammers are becoming smarter by the day and devising new means and methods of swindling cryptocurrency from users. What can be done however is massive awareness and sensitisation that can help reduce the number of people that these scammers turn to victims. As a user, do proper research also and invest only in projects that are known.

Fact checking and using sources such as forums can be a powerful tool in order to avoid getting scammed, but it is inevitable for someone not to encounter any scams at all since it can be on any platform that you use, investing in projects otherwise requires further fact checking and might as well see their whitepaper and other proof provided.

You can't avoid scams completely when operating on such a new market like crypto. It's a Wild West - big opportunities and big risks, without any normal regulation and with hundreds of scammers involved.

You do research on project and conclud that its a scam but the project turn out to be big success. You do research on project and conclude it will be big hit and the project turn out to be scam that's why its called wild West. There is no absolute way to avoid scam, you can minimize the risk with research.

someone's attempt to commit fraud or deception in a project no one knows about, meaning we can't get rid of the fraud committed. I think what we can do is just to avoid this fraudulent project by analyzing it first before joining it.

There's no 100% protection nor way to completely get of scams. However, you can minimize being scammed by doing such a responsible act and proper DYOR. Even in a project where everything seemed legit, we can't get an assurance that they will not be turned into sh*t someday.

To somehow minimize or lessen the chance of being scammed, first, of course, is to use our "common sense." Moving forward, set our own factors why should we trust or put a risk on a project.

Experience is the key. Be vigilant at all times.

That word completely get rid seems impossible knowing the situation that not all are aware of this or even they are but they still fall into scam tricks because of greediness.

it is personal, we can't touch others' life and help them to avoid investing in scams because, in the first place, they know what they are doing but never helped themselves. We can't rid these things out of crypto and in fact, it sometimes happens that even promising projects will turn into scam (exit scam trick). They will still exist no matter what we do and that is why we should be careful and do searches first before investing.

You wont really get scammed if you aren't making yourself to be greedy because this is something the main reason on why people do make out decisions into certain extents just because they are really
doing on whats up into their mind.

As long you do have that common sense in mind then you would most likely able to avoid all possible scam attempts and proudly saying that I haven't experienced on getting
scammed or fall into some fraud.

Just do your own research on something you are tending to engage on.if its looking suspicious then quit it.

~snip~

We can only get rid of scams if we are educated enough to look if the project is legit or not, developers are always updating and always threatening the investment community, about that project checkdot you've mentioned this is a unique project meant to trace bogus and legit projects, I would love to see it's use case and it's platform, so far they are transparent enough by posting the distribution and their lock time
^ Following them their announcement is the best way to know which project is good, if they keep updating those updates you can simply determine that you are not in a scam project. There are too many factors to consider before you can prove to them that they are not a scam, just also avoid hype projects that are usually very common now, they are going to hype projects and then leave when the project cannot recover their losses. But why you will choose those new projects altcoin? We have BTC that has already been proven.

I think it will be very difficult to avoid scams, moreover, scammers will have many ways to be able to reap profits in their coin investments, especially their victims are beginners who still lack knowledge about crypto.
That's right, they're tricky and smart as well that's why we have outsmart them and be aware of all of their tricks. Once they've seen another tactic to scam people, they'll do it repeatedly and the cycle will go on.
So my advice is that we always research every project that we will participate in so as not to get caught in their scam game.
It's important that you will do something such as researching before you entrust them your hard earned money as you invest to their projects. Not all of them are worth our trust.

If there's a regulatory body that would regulate these projects, then yes it could be get rid. Added by teaching newbies how to spot these scam projects. However, the first solution isn't applicable as theres no Police power that enforces a sanctions to those scammers. So yeah, its probably the spread of information on how to spot scam that could end it.

Yes if all of the investors will not let themselves to get scam.
Unfortunately, this will just happen in our dreams because there will always be investors who will fall into different types of scams.

Well, this thread is just an advertisement thread after all Cheesy.
Getting rid of scams in crypto space isn't impossible but with what we are seeing, I don't think that it will happen and many are thinking of that too.
Scams will always be there whatever happens. On the other hand though, scams will be eradicated if "all" of the investors will not fall into scams. I quoted all because I want to emphasize that all of us must learn and research before investing in order for us to not fall into the scams out there.
As long as investors are not fully equipped with knowledge, then expect that scams will always be around. But i must say that it can somehow be avoided if all investors will tend to be cautious before they decide to make investments. And because of that, there should be a series of deep researches first so we can check if those projects are real and legit, or they only seem legit at first but at the end of the day, it turned out that they are big scams.

However, i also believe that  scammers too are more brilliant than investors. In most cases, they are always ahead of us in some aspects even if we know we are brilliant and wise enough, scammers in the real sense are even more brilliant and wiser than us so they can easily deceive people with their improvised tricks.

In my opinion, it is very difficult and problematic to get rid of scammers, since the world of the cryptoindustry is very large and every day a lot of projects enter the market. And it is very difficult to track them down for fraud. So for the future, you can only be very careful and in order to participate in any project you need to fully study all the information and only then make a decision to participate.
