But we all know that merits are not the only basis for survival. If you consistently follow the rules without breaking them, you will surely be safe from kicking out from this forum. While merits are also considered vital, but it does not guarantee your survival in the forum.

Well, with my little understand my dear, I think having merit is not a way of securing your account, just like someone else has already said here, that in order to secure your account,you are to keep your passwords saved and do not go against the forum rules and regulations and I think by so doing i think your account will be saved and secured,..

While merit help you to grow up your rank,from newbie to higher rank and that is the important of merit in this forum and it's very important as you are a member of this forum you need the merit to rank up...

Instead of survival, it's more like a measurement to make sure you can keep growing in the ranks. I think your account will stay intact even if you don't get any merit. You can keep posting and hanging out with other fellows here, and don't mind about merits if you just want to merely discuss here. However, if you have other importance, for example, as a bounty hunter who wants to improve their earnings through signature campaigns, then merit is very important. There are some criteria for increasing your ranks, and one of them is to fulfill certain amounts of merit for certain ranks.

It's not about having lots of merits that you will be respected but the contributions you make which makes you a respectable forum member. You can even see a forum member with thousands of merits but thid forum member have negative score which you know what it means which is he/she is not to be trusted. If you remember there is a forum member who receive Bitcoin to his wallet accidentally and he returned it to the owner which already makes him a respectable forum member. There's a thread where you sign a message and that will be used to prove the ownership of the account if ever the account is hacked someone knows the password.

I think merit is just a gift that users give us to give appreciation for what we do. only that. unless your goal here is to get a job, I think merit is quite influential, because there are some jobs that require a high rank, for example signature. If you have waited a while, you would have figured out yourself how important merit is in the forum. I have also seen that this thread has span upto 5 pages. But I still want to answer your question incase you are still reading. Merit is very important to everyone, including those that has thousands of it already. While lower rank members need merits for rank up, older members who already have thousands of merits need more for prestige. You might not have needs for merits if;

You will not want to join any signature campaigns
You don't intend to become a campaign manager
You do not want to join some contests and give aways

If you are here only to learn about bitcoin, you are free to even read from the guest mood and everything will be fine. But if you are here to earn, just like many, you will need merits.

No it doesn't so merit basically a point that you can earn by providing something useful to the forum but sometimes there are people who gave joke and merit them.
and this merit used as a rank up so you are a newbie now and the max rank here is legendary if you have a bigger rank some people might trust you.

Higher rank can also be used as work and sell things here you can do a signature campaign like I do with weekly payment. In this case for the signature high ranking means a high payout, but there is catch some manager need you to be active on forum and keep give valuable material so you can earn merit and keep you in a campaign.

When your friend introduced you to this forum, what was your purpose and what did he tell you is the forum all about? This is very important to know whether you need merit here or not.

As a newbie, merit is just a way of your contribution to post, you get rewarded or typically when someone like your post, they give you merit for that and the more merit you get with more activity, the more you rank up from Newbie, to Member, Full Member, Senior Member, Hero Member and then Legendary which is the last rank here with merit requirements of +-1000 merits.

The forum has a market place where trading is going on, if you want to engage in trading here it's not merit that you need but a reputation, you can see that your trust score is 0/0/0, if you get a green +1, it shows that you are been trusted with a positive feedback and more people will trade with you and if you been distrusted with negative feedback -1 and with that on your account, people will avoid having trade with you.

So, you choose why you are here and stick with it to the end, if you have both merit and positive feedback, it increases your reputation in the Forum and more people will want to deal anything with you as long as you have it.

Op first of all welcome to the forum , joining the forum is like a ground and merit is the foundation on that ground therefore merits are very important for you to grow in the group .

Merit is actually very necessary and you can also earn merit depending on the quality of your post and contributions on a discussion , so for you to survive on the forum please go through some threads of the Old members and follow their footsteps and in that you can also earn merit through your reasonable contributions.

Merit is not really necessary for survival in this forum, especially for people that come to learn and move, because there is no restriction on posting and asking questions that require merits and ranks, provided that you do not want to add extra things to your post, like images.

Even if you want to do any special posts or advertisements and it requires you to add images to them, you can buy a Cropper membership, which will unlock some features for you and allow you to post freely in the forum.

If you want to rank up in this forum, you need merits, and you can only get them if you make a quality contribution to this forum.

As other as said merit isn't necessary to secure your account. All you need in the forum to remain here is to keep the lay down rules of the forum. Merits are just needed to rank up. But this shouldn't turn you to only merit fishing member. Most merit fishing members often get discouraged after making several post and not be meritted. It is highly better you make your good contribution by posting or replying to post and let merit seek you through your good post.

Merit isn't very important but like I have said it all depends on what you are here for, are you here to make a name for yourself by ranking up? Are you here just to learn only? Or are you here to provide some good solutions to crypto related problems?

Contribution is how you get merits on this forum but it doesn't matter, nothing will happen to your account if it's not merited, you can be active or not for years and your account will still be safe, make sure you use a strong password combination and maybe even activate the 2FA Authentication.

Merit is a reflection of quality and also sometimes contains an element of reputation on this forum. It has nothing to do with account security as it relates to passwords.

If you aim to secure your account, the more important thing to do is stake a Bitcoin address where only you know the private key. Like I did a few days ago. It doesn't need to be a wallet with a large balance, but what is certain is that you have full control over the wallet that you signed and verified by someone else.

If you aim to get merit, have good quality discussions, such as learning about bitcoin wallets and doing some small experiments. I'm sure many members will appreciate your persistence in studying. Even though your post asks a lot of questions, as long as you have tried it means you have progress in gaining knowledge about Bitcoin or cryptocurrency. And that's great.

Currently I'm not aware of any known penalty that comes with not having merits on the forum except you are participating in a campaign. Merits aren't compulsory for you to maintain your account on the forum neither is it a necessity to securing your account on the forum but then if you are here and you are not experiencing growth then the essence of been on this forum will definitely be defeated, One sign of growth is with your merits and activities if you are growing as you should by getting good and quality knowledge from this forum then the quality of your post will increase and by default some one will appreciate it with merits and your activities will be on the rises aswell, that way you can tell if you are really growing by joining this platform so the essence of merits can't be overridden even if it's not compulsory.

Getting merits come from quality post just like I did stated earlier, apart from been merited for quality posting I'm no aware of any other known way and merits are very important if you ever get interested in been hired or participate in a signature campaign were you can earn a few dollars via Bitcoin payments.

Just as many have enlighten you in many area about this merrit , I want to assure that no body will like to work without promotion but if you are one of those who will like working without promotion it's your choice. Is not mandatory you must get merrit before you secure your account I see Merritt as secondary the primary is keeping your details properly save and obeying simple laydown rule of the forum as well studying hard on the trends. If all these is in place I believe every good work you put in here will yield you better results of getting merrit that will promote you.

No there is not any kind of rules like this here on the forum like if you want to survive here you need merits. well answer to your second question is that if you have good information or knowledge share your info here with us or the OG's members your struggle, information, and knowledge will be much appreciated as merits. keep in mind that you have to stay pure here by avoiding using of AI tools or Copying & pasting without giving any source link.

As you are a newbie, you have no idea or knowledge about how to qualify. First of all you can post here without qualification, if your post quality and quality is good then definitely you are eligible. And if you post well and post without understanding everything well then you will never qualify, then you must first know about Bitcoin and about this forum. When you know and understand everything well then if you can create an important and quality post then you will be able to qualify.
