Yes, religious is necessary for human because of the way we now see things, there is believe that there is God and also because of the things that is happening nowadays.
Of course, with religion we can control our behavior towards others, or with religion we can avoid the actions that harm others.
As well as with religion we can interact with the Almighty.
A human without religion is a human without humanity.

Everybody has religion and it's quite good for every human but the sad thing is religion will not bring us to eternity even the Lord Jesus Christ don't present to us the religion but He wants us to have proper relation with God. whatever religion you have fine but it is of great help if we will read the holy bible and obey what the Lord is telling us to do.
Religion in itself, in an archeological and sociological point of view is a way to explain what is inexplicably unexplainable and to actually bring order. It is also used as a way to shelter the weak and regulate the strong. A way to distribute wealth and dictate norms. Pragmatically, religion is not needed by humans since it doesn't contribute anything for survival. But as a necessity to actually bring order and staunch chaos then it is quite necessary.
