To my mind, ripple cannot become a coin of the future because it is not that competetive in comparison to other cryptocurrencies like the bitcoin or the ethereum.

It's really difficult to say seeing much depends on institution large-scale adoption. Today RippleNet has more than 150 customers all around the world, Ripple (the company) has worked with Bank of England and XRP (the currency) has being succesfully tested by the FED and even by real money transfer businesses (like Stantander, Mercury FX and Western Union). Santander's App is already out after succesfull pilot, almost feeless and with great speed in transfer. XRP ledger is almost feeless and very fast (4 seconds to full process a crypto to crypto transfer) so it's a very good products for a lot of customers, banks in primis. Good features then, even if many say its consensus is centralized, but adoption has to get more and stronger signals to answer your question. Definetely a crypto to be followed.
in January of this year , i purchased some ripple . at that time , its price was three dollars . i got stuck . i don't know when i can sell it . it is wise to stay away from it .
