XRP has not defeated Ethereum. Investors are putting huge money into Ripple because it is constantly developing and making a lot of agreements with centralised banks. But Ripple is not a crypto currency and would never be better as ETH or BTC.

Ripple has no chance of getting around Bitcoin from any side. The fact that ripple temporarily ranked second in terms of capitalization does not mean anything. Even in terms of capitalization, this coin is inaccessible to Bitcoin. I'm not talking about price, popularity, and so on. In general, it does not even make sense to compare these two unlike coins. It's not really about which coin is where. ETH, XRP and BTC aren't direct competitors with one another, they each offer different things.
As to whether XRP can hit number one in market cap, I think it's possible but a long way (years) off.
For now and at least the medium-term future, BTC will dominate crypto and will have a huge effect on altcoin prices.

Raise or fall of market cap of any coin is totally dependent on the traders trust and analysis. ETH and XRP are like seasonal fruits that's all I have to say so, instead of comparing just enjoy trading.

there is, but in the long run. we pay attention to the condition of the two coins in the market and several other factors such as support for the coin project, then ripple has a pretty good chance in the future to defeat bitcoin.
