There is a chance but it's not really high at the moment. Having said that, I wouldn't like Ripple to take over. BTC and ETH and many others are so much more appealing projects.

Bition is going to remain the king of cryptocurrencies for a very long time and if there is going to be any coins that is going to defeat it it is going to be a governments issuing coins. Xrp still have a long way to go and I think ethereum is still going to over take it after the hardfork. 
No, XPR will never win bitcoin. Can not currency, which became the starting point for all crypto-currencies to take its position. To the surprise of XPR bypassed Ethereum, OF course Ripley's currency has good potential, but the victory over Ethereum is a temporary short-term phenomenon.
Bitcoin will still remain the main crypto currency on the market for a quite long period of time. Investors still believe in Bitcoin and they won't switch to altcoins at least not during the next several years.
Good day! I don't think any coin can defeat bitcoin, including xrp. A lot of people consider xrp as a pump and dump coin so you can earn only through those pumps. But I would chose holding xrp for long term too.
I don't think it will never happen in future. It is next to impossible for XRP to defeat BTC. BTC will always remain on the first rank, no other currency will take the place of BTC.
I prefer to think that bitcoin is the main one and lead the crypto market, and for ripple I think it's not a rival of bitcoin so that ripple won't be able to replace bitcoin.

Ripple won't takeover from bitcoin in the nearest future , i don't think it is feasible presently but later in the future anything can happen when ripple took over from ethereum i couldn't imagine it and it happened so over taken is allowed.
XRP will not be able to defeat BTC. I think Ethereum will return to take second place in the coinmarketcap in the near future.
