Something is brewing in ixcoin.
The price is very volatile instead of being dead a few months ago.
It can go up to 10k and drop back to 5k in a day.

I presume he meant Ixcoins vs Bitcoin. And not the Dollar value.

Correct.  There will be only 21 million iXcoins ever.  Just like bitcoin.

Asking for the community to donate 100,000 IXC far surpasses the amount of Bitcoins ever donated (combined).

Bitcointalk has received around 6,000 bitcoins.  Just so you have an idea.

I know the dollar value doesn't compare but we are talking about a very similar, in fact - twin, finite asset.

That said, I'm gonna ask the iXCoin community to come together and donate more iXCoin to this project than the entire Bitcoin community and its many millionaires, including Satoshi, have ever donated to their community in its entire existence.

...

There was over a million dollars donated for the new bitcointalk forum software alone. The Bitcoin community must have donated tens, if not hundreds of millions of dollars during its entire existence. You are asking for a donation bigger than the total the Ethereum IPO raised.

Your proposal had better be good.

I wondered what he meant by that as well...

Important:

I want everyone to read this entire post, please.

Deadsea33 came up with a great idea for a project which I think will transform not only iXCoin, but all crypto, including Bitcoin.

But this project has been tried by others and has failed due to security issues.  But I think it can be done.  I think we can be the ones that actually make it happen, and if we do then it will put ixCoin second only to Bitcoin.

For this to happen all the right key players have to sit at the table.  I've been talking to them all and they're NOT a lock, but I feel confident.

But there is one crucial piece missing.

The community!

Michael Terpin told me a few days ago that without a community a coin can't go anywhere.  And he is right.

I have a proposal in mind but before I make it to this community, I have to make sure I can get everyone to sit down and commit to doing their part.

And the only way I can do that is if I can also get this community to come together; if I can promise these people that we will definitely do our part.

That said, I'm gonna ask the iXCoin community to come together and donate more iXCoin to this project than the entire Bitcoin community and its many millionaires, including Satoshi, have ever donated to their community in its entire existence.

I'm gonna ask that all of you pool together 100,000 iXCoins.  And I don't want it from 3 guys.   I want something from everyone.  If you only have 1,000 IXC then donate 50.  The involvement counts as much as the donation, if not more.  This is crucial!!!

I want EVERYONE involved.

And to make sure this happens, I will throw down the gauntlet and provoke Thomas and everyone else into doing something which will awaken this community and get everyone to come together so we can make this happen.

Nobody donate anything yet. Just think about it and in the next few days, if things work out, I will present you my proposal with all the details, and I will make it sufficiently provocative and compelling so that there is no way anyone here can say no.

That I promise!

Thanks.

I'm new to IXCoin so I have a LOT of catching up to do. Is there a bootstrap of the blockchain available somewhere? I also can't seem to get my wallet to find any peers even though I added all the following to my conf file:

addnode=109.145.47.15
addnode=85.25.213.103
addnode=158.222.168.97
addnode=101.98.161.9
addnode=69.207.6.135
addnode=108.170.37.114
addnode=198.154.60.183
addnode=50.116.37.18

What am I doing wrong?

I had the same problem last weekend. This link expanation works. You need to wait 5  - 10 minutes once loading the new nodes as well.

First, for sure in this way (quick dump followed by a pump) ixcoin volume is increased without increasing the price too much. Second, you attract speculators, since such a variation in price in a very short time means money for skilled players. Third, as I said before, I personally dont' like Feathercoin, so as long as we are above it as the market cap, I am happy LOL.

Feathercoin?

I have disliked that coin since it launched to much fanfare and rave reviews and articles back in 2013.  I have no idea since they couldn't even come up with a decent name at a time when most names were available.

This IXC volume is strange; I'm curious where it's gonna go from here.  Should be interesting especially with Gavin just announcing he's gonna become Dictator of Bitcoin.  I think a lot of early Bitcoin adopters who were naivé enough to believe in the decentralized fairytale will look to diversify into other alts to mitigate any risk with a potentially govt/bank controlled Bitcoin.

Another 80,000 iXCoin dump to under 4,000 sat today.

Followed by a quick rebound.

Someone is losing all their iXCoin cause it doesn't appear that anyone is following those sells with more sells.  On the contrary, I'm seeing nothing but buying after the dumps.

Another reason to put Nasakioto on the board is the fact he still has probably ~ 200k IXC to distribute in bounties. So, what better positions than being on the board for that?
PS Has anybody news about Nasakioto? It's several months since his last post.

I think it's been nearly 6 months since Thomas has posted.  I haven't heard from him, personally, since then either.

I can confirm it was not the seller buying.

Haha.  Thanks, hope you got a good chunk!
