I dont think the ulcer thing stops the fight but its still relevant to his overall health alongside all the other factors from his age and also questionable state of fitness since he originally retired.   Ryan Garcia bravely offering to take over is kinda funny but cant blame him, so long as he is not expecting his name to command the same pay arrangements for the fight win or loss.   The ages would match better at least but Im not sure the other stats do, if it were a normal match up.
I didn't know that Mike had an ulcer, and it seems to me that this is a serious factor that can affect the fight. Jake can take advantage of this and strike in the stomach area, one good blow and that will be enough and it’s all over for Mike. But I am more than confident, that this or any other disease will not prevent them from having this fight, because there is too much money at stake and then Mike will be able to go for the best treatment he can find.  Grin

Ryan Garcia has stepped up and said he will fight Jake Paul in place of Mike Tyson if needed. I’ll admit that fight I find more intriguing than Tyson, but only because I don’t want to see anything bad happen to Mike. I doubt Ryan Garcia would get the nod either way, but I’m sure Netflix is glad to know they have a decent backup if Mike’s condition continues to deteriorate.

That would be much better if we see Garcia vs Paul fight. But will Oskar De La Hoya "Golden Boy" promotion allow Garcia to fight? Wont there be contract issues? I know that today their fight wont happen and Garcia is only hyping on that. But that fight would be a bigger career jump and opportunity for Jake. Imho today Garcia generate much more attention than legendary Tyson.

I will very much like to witness this! The trashtalking that King Ry will receive from the Problem Child will certainly be about steroids heehhe. However, if this type of trashtalk occurs, it will not be person, I reckon. King Ry and Jake Paul are friends since they were teenagers. Also, according to an interview with King Ry, he taught Logan and Jake how to box.

In any case, I am very happy that this will be free on Netflix. I never noticed that there is a remind me button hehehhe.

Also, Mike Tyson is smaller than Jake Paul.

They won't charge extra for watching these fights, it wouldn't make sense for them. But I believe they must have some viewing agreement, etc.

Mike must be in good health to be able to take such risks. It doesn't make sense for him to fight without being well.

I like this, and if you ask me, this would be far more entertaining to watch than Jake Paul fighting Mike Tyson. but yeah, I agree, I doubt Jake Paul's team would let this go through, Jake Paul has been meticulously nitpicking who he fights. if Mike Tyson's health continues to deteriorate they'd probably look for someone to replace Mike Tyson but it won't be Ryan Garcia(but I wish it would be him if it ever came to that).

It will be entertaining as hell when this two will face each other in the boxing ring. Nevertheless, it might not happen as Jake Paul is used to be cherry picking his opponents to make his look good in and as the same time, easy money for him. A prime and young Garcia doesn't suit his type of opponents. Although they like having a trash talk in social media, it will not equate in a fight.

It's seems that everything has settled down already, Tyson is back and I will assume that he is now continuing with his training and might be closely monitoring one what he eat so that he won't see his ulcer acting up again.

The news is clear, he has ulcers and that just bled, that's it. This isn't anything important for the fight to be fair, and it shouldn't matter to the fight, it's very benign thing and won't be really impacting the fight at all. I believe that the fight is still in Mike Tyson's favour for me, I know that it may not look like he is that great because of his old age, and I know that Jake will go around telling he beat Mike Tyson ignoring he was 57 years old at the time if it ever happens.

But that doesn't really mean anything to me, I feel like we are going to end up with nothing of that weird nature, we should be considering the situation as still Mike Tyson and not some old dude, even at old age he is one of the most dangerous people in the world at boxing.

Spot on.  Tyson is another animal in the ring than Paul has had to deal with.  This dude literally is looking to kill you in the ring.  He still says it's not good enough to just knock out his opponent he wants to end theor careers.  He's a killer.  And there ain't no way Mike is gonna let something like that get in the way of this fight.

I hope you guys are right.  The age thing is a lot for me to get over.  I don't think anyone believes that Jake Paul would last more than 30 seconds in the ring with a prime Mike Tyson, but a 58 year old Mike Tyson with ulcers and heavier gloves might be a different story.  I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that Mike comes out and gets a knockout, but I'll have to see the odds before deciding where I'll put my money.  58 is just old...  If he were 48 it wouldn't be so bad.  I just keep saying it, but I hope Mike doesn't get hurt.

Yeah, but the disparity in weight though, Ryan can balloon at 154 lbs to be his biggest weight, but Jake Paul started at CW around 186 lbs ++. But in terms of hype and trash talking, yeah it could be a match made in heaven. So just imagine what they could have said in the face off leading to hype as both are big mouth and love to say insults. Of course Ryan is willing because of the huge money that it can generate and it could be just an easy work for him as he is a pro-boxer. But I don't think that Tyson will cancel this fight.

There is one problem though, didn't they find stuff in his drug test after the last fight? Sure he would be a fun replacement but seriously, only 1 punch by Paul need to get through and the fight is done, the weight level is just too high.
On the other hand, Paul never fought a real fighter, just some has beens or some up comers.

Anyway, the whole fight is a joke anyway, who ever he is fighting. It's all somehow staged and stuff. There is only 1 loser, the audience expecting a good/real fight.

He just beat Ryan Bourland recently who looks like not willing to fight and Jake is up again for another.
They should call this a fight but an exhibition but believe it or not is happening. You think Mike is done after Roy Jones but Jake wants to pull him again for he just needs recognition from the boxing community.

I would be surprised if Mike beats Jake. He is 60.  Would you bet if its on Stake?
Jake Paul needs PR and hype around his person (in order to be monetized in the future), and Mike Tyson needs money (a retired professional boxer), because he doesn’t need PR at all. How would I take this fight? Like a show that has nothing to do with sports, because grandpa Tyson and blogger Paul will be in the ring - ideal partners for a fight. Smiley

If I were to place a bet, I would bet on Jake, because the victory will certainly be awarded, since I believe that the elderly Mike (despite his past merits and great name in the past) is here acting as a “springboard” in the career of a pseudo-boxer blogger.

On this Mike Tyson medical emergency, the skeptical me is thinking that this is a promoter's tactic to get more attention and create another news next week telling everyone that Mike Tyson is 100% healthy to hype the fight ehehehehe.

If this was promoters tactics, than this is wrong tactics. First they create image of Mike being as he was in his prime with all that short videos of him punching bag. Now its health issue and pictures of man giving him hand to help to walk. This destroys whole story of undefeated old-prime Mike. Flights are stressful and old sores remind about themselves. What is going to be with Mike in days before the fight?

I don't know what is happening now with Mike Tyson health but I doubt the news circulating, there are too many things that I feel are exaggerated in the writing.
Fight will still take place and Mike Tyson has started to prepare for his health by quitting smoking and he is focused on the fight and making several efforts to maintain his health.
Regarding the problems that occurred, I sure that this is normal thing and considering that Mike Tyson is old, it is normal for several small problems to occur which require him to receive medical treatment.

Moreover, what Mike Tyson experienced was only nausea and dizziness caused by an ulcer.

yes let's remember that it's true that he's starting to get old but in my opinion he can still have his say I saw him hit in training now I don't know if it's just show but he hit really hard like a train, let's always remember that he's Mike Tyson yes Paul is young but all that show he does isn't very professional, so much so that in a recent face-to-face meeting Iron Mike even started laughing and mocked him, I still think it's just a lot of show and spectacle and that there's not much boxing involved. definitely a match that I will watch but I don't expect anything and hopefully I'll be surprised

I feel quite confident in Mike Tyson in any case. Ulcer is something my grandmother had, and while it is a pain and terrible feeling when it flares up, unless he has it flare up during or before the fight, then he should be fine on regular days.

This of course is important information, because lets say he had it flared up that day, he wouldn't be able to fight properly at all, no matter what you do, it is not a single day fix, so it would impact the fight, but we have long time until the fight and if it doesn't bother him on the day of the fight, then this means nothing at all, even punches to the gut doesn't make it flare up, so it should be fine. I still 100% believe that Mike will mop the floor with Jake no matter what happens.
he should be fine with good diet that couldn't cause ulcer but I think even then it should be addressed seriously, there should be no risking the life of a fighter even more so with the case of mike tyson, the legendary boxer i've seen plenty of people getting admitted to ER just because ulcer, it sometimes can be serious you know and life threatening if not getting the right treatment. also couldn't imagine to have ulcer flare up when in fight its truly debilitating thing if it suddenly flares up, hard to breathe and so on there's certainly reason why a man a caliber of mike tyson getting nauseous and dizzy it means the ulcer truly bother him.

but like many other said regardless, the fight probably won't be fierce fight anyway probably just to demonstrate how capable of mike tyson in his old age and thats it.
I guess thing just gonna went smoothly with this one and hopefully that is the case.

Yeah, I think that's why Netflix wanted, since the closer of HBO and Sho they want to have a piece of this action. And also to compete against Amazon Prime.

So this is really good for boxing in general.
