What is this fight becoming? I'm afraid of what will happen until she arrives. If it continues like this, I'd rather they move forward as much as possible to avoid this kind of senseless thing. Tyson's comment doesn't make any sense

I didn’t think I would wake up to videos of Mile Tyson saying that he got an erection watching a 16 year old Jake Paul do tik tok dances, but here we are. As sick and twisted as that statement is, it’s somewhat refreshing to have an insane Mile Tyson back saying insanely gay things to terrify his opponents. I almost forgot what it was like. Lol

Well Jake Paul started it when he said that he wanted to kiss Mike Tyson's lip,

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/xFLaptG2iNs

LOL, but it was really uncomfortable hearing what Tyson says though and then the reaction of the crowd was funny, awkward silence with some boo's.

But this is the old and classic Mike Tyson, remember when he said that "I want your heart, I'm gonna eat your children". The interviewer was also shock when he heard this explosive stuff coming from Mike's mouth.

Right and it seems that Mike Tyson has wake up in time and then started to trash talk Jake Paul in the press conference. How terrifying Mike Tyson is when he had to talk really bad on what he is going to do with his opponents and others. So the intimidation game has started, maybe to promote the fight but there are more hype already as compare to let's say the Fury vs Usyk fight. And perhaps when Jake inserted Buster Douglas names, that's where Mike Tyson just irritated and then started all this trash talking just like when he is fighting scary guys.

Considering how much money is at stake in the fight, saying random erratic things is really not a good idea.   Not sure that helps him and 16 is considered a child in USA laws in all respects so its totally inappropriate to even joke or taunt somebody in that way.   Bad for promoters, sponsorship, advertising and regulators I'd guess not smart.

As far as the fight goes that makes me think anything can happen at this point because apparently they are off the rails in terms of following rules or set script especially.   Maybe its a one off or we'll see a crescendo of chaos.

I did think it ironic that Tyson Fury is also fighting right now.  His opinion is basically as I was expecting:
Quote
"If Mike Tyson hits anybody, I don’t care if he’s 90, he’s going to knock them out cold isn’t he?" he told the MMA Hour ahead of his upcoming undisputed fight with Oleksandr Usyk on May 18,

"He’s Iron Mike Tyson, the baddest man on the planet. Jake Paul is very experienced now and he's had a lot of fights but obviously, I have to back Mike Tyson for the knockout as he always backs me."
Could be this is all standard noise for a pre fight I guess.

That's how bad Mike is, but honestly, I'm not very confident in him anymore, probably because he's getting older. No matter what he says about Jake Paul, it cannot be denied that Jake is the stronger boxer right now. If their exchanges add some excitement to the fight, that would be great. However, since it's just an exhibition fight, I don't expect a real bout where a knockout could happen, especially not against an aging Mike Tyson.

Good for Darren Till to have found a way for his new career, he could be making huge money in boxing if he can make an impressive win. To which I'm not so sure since Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is definitely an experienced boxer. But who knows, this could be a new beginning for Till.

It could be a disappointing match but it could add to the PPV sales.

It’s impressive how long Chavez Jr. has managed to milk his father’s name and legacy. He had a somewhat lackluster championship reign a decade ago and somehow went on to fight Canelo and is still being featured on these big cards. The loss to 46 year old Anderson Silva should have made it clear he needs to retire, yet here he still is, being used as a stepping stone for an MMA fighter they will try to market as a credible opponent for Jake Paul in the near future. I guess the Dana White saying is true “cocaine isn’t cheap”, which is the only explanation for why he continues to disgrace his family name for a few bucks.

Well he had the name so in the beginning there was a lot of hype on him and winning fights. But when he started to up the tempo and fighting good boxers, he was exposed and so it started the whole story that he is not that great as his father and you can see the frustrations of JCC Sr.

It's obvious that he still needed money at this point, could be living the lavish lifestyle that he started when he was winning and having great money. And with that, you can't blame him just like what Mike Tyson is doing, millions in just one fight that could give him a good future. At least Jr is still making decent money in his failed boxing career.

Not against what you say, but common, that version of Mike that you describe is in his prime. He is almost 60 years old now, although he did train very hard as we can see in his videos, but that's training though, it's going to be very different in fight. He might still have the power, but the reflex, we don't know if Mike still has the speed.
He is 57 years old, and it is not about just reflex that would win him this fight, there are two things that will make the difference insane; chin and power. If he is capable of taking punches, and he has world class neck so we all know that he will be able to take punches, and if he also has enough power behind his punches to hurt, then it means that he still is Mike Tyson. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that he would have any chance at all against any real fighter, if you take even the 30th ranked boxer right now in his class, that boxer would easily beat Mike, not because Mike is bad, but because he is 57 years old.

But, we are talking about a youtubers brother here, not a boxer, Jake has zero idea what it means to be a boxer, he is doing this just for the money and fame, that's it.

The problem is that we never considered that it will be practically a staged fight and it won't really be something official. Everything indicates this and all the organization's actions are saying this. So, Tyson has the power to overcome anything, since the fight is not real

Darren Till will make his pro boxing debut on the Jake Paul x Mike Tyson Netflix card on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.
His opponent will be Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (53-6-1, 1 NC).
Fight will be contested at 190 pounds. Six, three-minute rounds.

Mike has fought against bigger opponents before, and some of them were real fighters that had some brawl experience, some of them were total professionals who knew what they had to do. In either case, he always won, it took a lot of time and issues for him to start being bad.

Sure, Mike at the end wasn't a great boxer, but even at that ear bite situation if you watch the highlights again, people showed the world that he was hit below the belt so many times before, and he has been hit head to head so many times, eventually when referee didn't do anything, mike took it upon himself to do that, it is just the reality that referee is very important on giving warnings and he didn't that fight, it was a thrown fight to start with. Mike will definitely destroy Jake, and I mean like Knock out, not even points.

I don’t like the way Mike seemed like he was joking around and having fun at their face off today. I don’t think he’s going to try and kill Jake. I think he’s glad to be getting one last monster payday and thankful to Jake for making it happen. I hope when fight night comes we see Tyson change back into the gladiator for one final show.

Maybe fight is saying to him, finally, fight is here, I can cash out the biggest paycheck in his career after this fight and that's why he is happy and having fun and joking with Jake Paul. Maybe we will see some glimpse of old Mike, but I don't think he can sustained it, just saying.
Every fighter thinks about the money he will receive for the fight, this is normal. And yestaday everything was very positive, it’s clear that Mike is in a great mood, apparently he doesn’t take this fight as seriously as when he took fights during his professional career.

Jake was more tense, but Mike relieved the tension. I assume that Jake will take this fight much more seriously than Tyson. There are a lot of show elements in modern sports, and Jake makes sure that his show is enough to attract attention. I want to believe that Tyson is capable of defeating Jake, at least seeing a few good blows that will send the guy down. And of course, Tyson understands perfectly well that the 20 million he can get for a fight is a lot of money that will make his life at least a little better!  Grin

I didn't feel very comfortable watching it either, they looked like two friends, happy to have a safe full of money, there's no rivalry, there's nothing, just two people happy to be able to hold an entertainment event... I had a little hope of that it would be a serious fight, but after the video the hope is gone, it will just be a fake fight, like wrestling was in the 90s

They will only show what this fight will really be, an act, just like WWE, but in this fight the money will be much bigger. I even believe that this issue of counting in the cartel must have some negotiation behind it to give it more credibility.

Does anyone here on the forum have the courage to buy the VIP package to watch the fights? It costs 2 million dollars and gives you the right to meet the fighters and some other benefits... I thought this package was quite expensive, even if I had a lot of money left over I wouldn't have the courage to pay all that

https://www.cbssports.com/boxing/news/most-valuable-promotions-offering-2-million-vip-package-for-mike-tyson-vs-jake-paul/

It seems kind of overpriced but it really solidifies the point that this is only a cash grab rather than a serious sporting event. Even if it’s sanctioned as a “real” fight, for two guys that aren’t aspiring to become world champion, they are really under no obligation to take this seriously. I’m guessing once they step inside the ring, everything will be somewhat scripted and the end result will be whatever organizers feel they can squeeze the most value out of. A Jake Paul victory leads to more circus fight paydays, while a Tyson victory could be used to market Tyson branded products as well as Netflix documentaries and series based around his personality.

Sometimes I even hope that it will be a worthwhile fight, but when I stop to think about the amount of money and the possibilities that an event like this can have (to raise money) I come to my senses and see it as an event to entertain people... I would really like it to be a real fight, with both of them trying hard to win... I hope it's a serious fight, otherwise disappointment will be inevitable.
You can see it though in the face-off that both are not serious, I mean Tyson digging on the body of Jake Paul and Jake simply pushing him and both have a big smile. And so it just shows that this fight is for entertainment and then Tyson making a huge paycheck. Just good to see Netflix really into this kind of entertainment, like they are in the roll. Last week if I'm not mistaken, it was roast of Tom Brady and it's a block buster. Almost all of the big fights have been concluded, so now everyone can focus on this fight and it's free if you are Netflix subscribers so if you don't have anything to do then you might as well watch it right?

Quite strange to see such conference, when everyone here expect brutal and barbaric brawl Cheesy Mike says he likes Jake. Jake say that it was Mike who wanted to make it professional and challenge him. Nothing negative between those two. Two guys who respect each other. How the hell they are going to sell this fight then ? Cheesy Fight all that laughs and jokes, I hope people will get a real fight for the money they have paid for a ticket, but a sparring, where one is trying to show who he was, and other is afraid to hit hard grandpa.
