Katie Taylor v Amanda Serrano rematch has been added to the undercard of the Paul/Tyson fight. Long time coming. I actually think Serrano won the first fight.

Hopefully they get some more decent fights on the card as this could be pretty huge for Netflix so makes sense to stack it. Maybe Netflix could end up competing with the Saudis for these big fights.

This one is at least a legit fight. Serrano deserves the rematch after all the fight is won by decision. This is something to watch out for on Netflix besides the main event. I don't really follow Women's boxing but it looks like they were rivals back then and Serrano seems to have a long experience in boxing with better KO power.

This fight might just the on the betting platforms while the main event may not be.

Apparently it's Netflix's tendency to invest in fights. It doesn't make much sense, but it's a niche to be explored. Apparently they will just be fights that will be promoted as they would have no appeal if not for Netflix.

It's a new venture for them to invest in boxing fights, they think that they can make a lot of money from it and so they got the most hype fighter in the whole exhibition fight genre and that is Jake Paul.

And then paying Tyson in millions, that is a big gamble for them but for sure they are counting on the popularity of Mike even though he is retired from pro-boxing. But Tyson has his own podcast if I'm not mistaken, and so he is still expose to fights and boxing fans and we still love him. So this is another way for him to make money and at the same time be active even at his age.

I see this as a way of Netflix to gain more subscribers. It doesn't necessarily make them create a lot of money with the new subscriptions due to this fight, but if we look at the long term result, these people that will subscribe which is considered as new, might just continue to renew their subs and that's where the Netflix are making more money consistently.

Make sense, because according to report, this event is free to view for the existing subscribers, so those who arent's subscribed with netflix for sure will pay for the subsciption since it's very affordable. Aside from their share on Netflix, these two are also gonna enjoy the revenue they'll make on the venue since people are gonna come to witness this exciting fight, they'll come to see Mike Tyson teach Jake Paul some lesson.

I think that Netflix did well in this fight venture, anyway, if it weren't for Netflix, any other streaming platform would love to have exclusive access to a fight by the legend Mike Tyson.

I think younger people don't understand how much GIANT is the name Mike Tyson, he is simply one of the greatest boxing fighters of all time, any fight of his is a giant event on planet earth.
the younger generation definitely knowing jake paul for his stunt in youtube and well aside from his ridiculous stunt that sometime just getting out of hand, they don't really know what mike tyson is capable in his younger days compared to jake paul but its also what makes it fun.
a former youtuber turning into a boxer fighting the legends, we will also see how mike tyson in his old day could hold up against the like of jake paul and even beat him, even having a draw its already a victory for mikey since he is significantly older yet can compete with younger generation of boxer its gonna be a lot of fun in the future.

Nope, i dont see for this fight to have no appeal even if they would be deciding to go with other mediums and not that using Netflix or using up the standard way on how these fights do really happen.
If we do really think up throughly then both parties would really be having that mutual benefit on which this isnt really just that Mike/Jake or this fight overall would be getting that attention but also same
goes with Netflix on boosting up when it comes to exposure knowing on that these dudes or fighters are really that known specially Tyson plus with that Clown Jake Paul.
They do know that they could really benefit to each other and this is why its not really that shocking that these kind of partnerships or agreements do really happen.
Its all about business yah know.  Kiss

They are willing to gamble in this venture, Sho and HBO are out, and their rival, Amazon prime has sign with PBC to stream their PPV fights if I'm not mistaken. And so Netflix will have to come out big, and most likely they reach to jake Paul and then they offer Mike Tyson $20 million for this fight.

I think younger people don't understand how much GIANT is the name Mike Tyson, he is simply one of the greatest boxing fighters of all time, any fight of his is a giant event on planet earth.

Yes, it's like when younger generation hasn't watch Michael Jordan in his prime and then they have Lebron James as their GOAT. During Tyson's prime and prior of him going to jail, he was really scary in the ring and knockout almost all of his opponents in a brutal fashion.

I guess this is related to me. This is the first time someone tried to humiliate me in such a manner. Thanks Cheesy

Ok Mr. I-am-a-big-boxing-expert, give me your thoughts about who Jake should fight and what he should do to make boxing more popular, plus what Jake should do to earn. If you claim Jake wins are rigged and he fights only retired, old and disable people, then what are you doing here? If you know that Jake never fights a real challenger, then why not just come here July 21 and post "I told you" ? Dont like it, dont watch it. Nobody force you to watch Jake Paul fake boxing fights.

I wasn’t referencing anybody in particular. MMA fans were really loud leading up to Mayweather vs. McGregor. They also believed Anderson Silva was going to beat Jake because Silva had beaten a former boxing champion with drug addiction and mental health issues. Woodley was also another overhyped Jake Paul opponent. Some of it was wishful thinking, a lot of it is pure delusion.

I may or may not watch Jake Paul’s fight, it’s not really relevant. I’m only giving my opinion and refuting the mistaken belief, some people have, that Jake Paul has any credibility whatsoever as a professional boxer. If he wants to earn that credibility, there are plenty of lower ranked fringe contenders he could build his record against.

Then it is to bad that Jake is a media person, as he can not fight for just +1 in his win record, and is not going to let others earn on his name. A lot of people focus here on that he is doing that only for the sake of money. Those people forget that his opponent also get something for rigged beating. If Jakes was the only one to get paid, then I would understand all the hate and support that. But there are always two who play this game. I havent seen anyone being disappointed for loosing to Jake. Instead, people call him for a fight to earn. And that is what is wrong. People shout "pick me! pick me", "beat me! beat me! as I want to get rich!".

His trainings are real good but it's true that when we age, our strength and thinking becomes weaker and slower. But I'd still give him credits for being at that good shape even he's aged a lot, he's still considered the living legend.

As they say, strength is the last thing to go with age (or at least that's what I've heard).  Everything else starts going pretty quick once you hit 40 though.  Seeing the recent video of Mike Tyson running is a good example of that.  You can see that he is still a very strong individual, but just being able to run a 40 is awkward and a bit of an accomplishment.  I think the video showed that Tyson has the strength to still do things, but his body just doesn't move like it used to.  Still, his top tier boxing skills may open up an opportunity to land a knockout blow on Jake.  Make no mistake about it though, Tyson is old and it shows a lot.

Sure he will be training hard as Tyson has built his name to be a solid KO artist. But I doubt this will be a serious fight. It's called an "Exhibition fight" for a reason, no one will get harm especially the old guy and probably Jake Paul would be able to continue his career as a boxer now.
I also doubt that this is going to be a serious fight. You know how Jake Paul fights and if this is going to be favorable to him then Mike will have to let go with his ego and pride and let the guy win.

With the history of Paul with his matches, it's said that there's always some contract being done before the match happens or even the day the fight has been announced to the media.
About who will win, we don't know yet as there has been no official rules of the fight, or maybe I just missed it..
I think they will just be showing what they got but no one will get hurt in the end, they should consider the health of Mike Tyson, though we've seen him training but I think he's just all talk at his age now, compared to Jake Paul who has been in real fight and is very active. Let's not expect too much or get so hype, just enjoy,  besides, it will not cost us much to watch this fight.

There's still plenty of time to promote the fight, but the world knows it's Mike Tyson so they'll watch especially that it's broadcast in Netflix where membership is not expensive unlike paying a PPV subsciption.
It's more of a comfortable PPV this time since it's on Netflix.

I hope other fights will also consider partnering with Netflix, that way more people would be able to watch and I think they can still make a lot of money considering Netflix has "260.28 million subscribers" source(https://backlinko.com/netflix-users)
And at the same time, the customers will also have that privilege to watch other movies together with that package of PPV. Or else, they'd just do it like a oneway ticket for the fight.

Also having that kind of broadcast partner, it's a big promotion coming in with their help too.

Exhibition matches would provably became more marketable nowadays since there's a lot of famous personalities reading up the hype and interest of people that's why for sure we can see a lot of this to happen. It may really laughable for Jake but in reality this is a big achievement for him either he win or lose since he is facing the legend and also he get a lot of money for this fight so there's no lose for him since he will create a lot of noise for this and for sure this will benefit him in long term. Also I thought I heard about they make this fight to be at pro level but anyways whatever set up they fight for sure both of them are the winners.
Jake is a great showman, he knows how to attract attention to his fights, and he added the Tyson Legend to this combustible mixture, so this fight can have a lot of views. Yesterday I came across a video where Jake and Mike are preparing for a fight, listen, it’s like I was watching excerpts from a movie, everything is so well heated up that I would even be interested in seeing how this fight could end. By the way, Tyson delivered such blows during training that I even believed that he could knock out Jake.

But we need to remember that this is just a show, for Jake for sure, but for Mike I don’t know, but I think that this is also an opportunity. Jake, of course, is acting very ostentatiously, but I’m almost sure that he likes it all, and for Tyson it’s just an opportunity to earn big money.

do you really think that mike will seriously fight against jake, I think it's just a show and for the money the rest is just silly sponsorships of products and other things now I don't know but if tyson really fights for paul it will be the end haha

Yes why not? Its somehow a shame to the part of Tyson is he lost to a youtuber so for sure that he would give a good fight against Paul. We know that Tyson is a legend and for sure he will retain that status since this is huge achievement of his life. He would provably not let anyone to stain his legacy. But if you mean that they might arrange this fight in favor to someone well maybe that might happen. But in this case I don't think there's something like this will happen and we can see a good fight between these two gentlemen which something have to prove like Paul he want to beat Tyson and also Tyson who want to show that he's still capable to defeat young guys who challenge him.

I absolutely agree on the fact that Jace won't go there to make a fool of himself but even if 50 year old Tyson will be a war machine and he certainly won't go there to get beaten up by a "newbie" so we will definitely see a good meeting even if to put it bluntly everything smells a bit like an arranged match to me, we'll see...
It could be an arranged match or not, but am sure Mike Tyson won't just let Jake beat the hell out of him or have all the fun alone, without having a taste of one or two of his favorite knockout moves.
I have seen Tyson box and I follow him on his Instagram page, his warm ups and techniques don't seem to have faded or become obsolete in the boxing world.
Even if Tyson doesn't win, he's still gonna be my champion and most favorite to win the match on July 20.
As a legendary Boxer then for sure it would really be that part of his ego that even if he's that old but doesnt mean that youngsters could really be able to beat him out despite of the age or being old as of this moment. In regarding about being fixed or not then its not that shocking anymore when it comes to exhibition fights on which you could really be able to assume out that it is really that something that could potentially happen but its true and i do heavily agree that Mike wont really be that letting the show would be over without showing those moves on which he had been known or getting famous with.
Tons had already been anticipating that Mike would gonna win basing up on experience and power but there would really be those fans who would really be that saying that Jake would really be getting this one
since he's younger but well lets see on how this one would really be ending up.

Show me a champion who fought big names in the start of his career Cheesy Or any professional fighter, who fought one amazing boxers. Do you think Tyson first fight was against current champion or former champion? Or do you think that Canelo first opponent top fighters?

You people have some kind of strange vision on a situation. When he fights Tyson this year, you claim that Jake would lose because A) Tyson is experienced B) he is a strong puncher. But if Jake wins, you start to claim that he beats only retired and old fighters. How convenient Cheesy

With so much attention to his persona, everyone forced him to fight only big names. Active fighters wont fight him because of contracts. A fight against no-name you dont accept. When he fights against formed boxers, you say that he is fighting old guy. No matter who he fight against, you are still unhappy Cheesy
I partially agree with you, there is a double standard for him from people. But I simply say that he is not a boxer. All he does is that he fights retired people, those, who were legends and when you check Jake Paul's history, there are only names written in his records. So, according to names that he fought and beat, he looks to be an amazing boxer and that's what he claims. It's a little shame when young person tries to beat old grandpas and then claims to be one of the best boxer. I wouldn't celebrate beating a 60 years old grandpa. He says that he beats legends, but he doesn't want to fight young legends. Let's put him in front of Anthony Joshua and see what happens. He won't fight him because he will be dead in seconds and he won't be shown as a cool guy who beats legends.

Well, to be honest, I don't care much. I still think that he is a good guy, makes millions of dollars, has a happy life and he succeeded as a person. So, I wish him all the best.

In fact I think that Jake would gladly accept AJ as an opponent, but AJ and his contract wont allow him to fight Jake Grin He would fight young legends, but they dont want to fight him. There is a line of no-names or "not-rather-popular-or-dont-have-any-legendary-status" boxers that wants to fight him. But a victory over them wont give him anything. Vicious circle

Double standards again - you say that you wont celebrate victory over 60 yo grandpa, but many here claim that this grandpa would teach that young boy some boxing lessons. So maybe there is a point to celebrate, if that grandpa is so strong and legendary?

Imho people are just jealous because he earn millions by fighting against big names. He would do the same, but earn 100 bucks per fight, all of his hater would be silent Cheesy

This is because Jake being the Youtuber himself is a boxing promoter. Regardless of who he will be fighting, it's a win for him whether officially he lost by points or by KO, it's still him. The one thing that makes people annoy him is Jake picking someone popular to bring money for him while he knows for sure Mike is not really going to win over him.  Jake legitimately has the physique of a massive prime HW. It's just him getting under the skin, I think.

Maybe this is his way to avoid receiving any career ending injuries since if he decide to fight those pro or let say got more advantage than him then provably he will be at huge risk to get defeated or worst he might got serious injury. We all know that boxing is dangerous for all people so maybe what he think is he can fight a age ex pro with  good boxing record in history so that he can boost up his career if he can successfully defeat those old fighter.

But for looking at current physical capabilities of Tyson I can say that Jake Paul is in danger since Tyson can eat him alive as the legend still so fast and have his power which can potentially knock off Paul if he commit bad mistakes for moving around in the boxing ring.
