So many updates some come from influencers saying the fight is just postponed and some are saying it's cancelled. Until the news says final and it comes from Joke Paul himself I guess we can close this thread. The majority of the info I found is from Xitter who keeps telling the fight is just being rescheduled.

So far is there will be a poll asking whether the fight will push through or not, I think most of the votes will be cancelled. They don't want MKike to fight actually.

Mike Tyson is a living legend. We had the chance to see him in the ring again because he was extraordinary. And it would be very good for us to see him in the ring again. But it's always better for us to see him in good health.

Before this news I thought he had a chance to win this fight. His opponent is young for him. But I thought that if he made the right moves in the first few rounds, he might have the power to win this fight. But this news has changed my opinion about him. This fight could have irreversible bad consequences for him.

I know that Mike is a fighter and still in good health but there will be changes in his body and his body cannot keep up with his motivation anymore, I like to see Mike more of Mike behind the microphone and main events interviews for his opinion, I hope they call off this fight it will hurt both fighters' reputation and health.

We should all remember Larry Holmes he was a great champion and one of the longest-reigning champions in the heavyweight but people have a hard time recognizing his achievements because they remember Larry Holmes as the guy beating the hell out of Muhammad Ali who is already past his prime and people will never forget that.

The same thing will happen with Jake Paul, people will lose respect for Jake for all that he has achieved if he goes into the ring and disrespects Tyson the same way Larry Holmes disrespects Ali.

but in my opinion we are not talking about a real meeting it will all be a show let's remember that the good mike is 52 years old and is no longer as young as he used to be but he is still mike tyson let's remember that he won't be as fast as he used to be but if he catches you with a hook he destroys you regarding Paul I'm not convinced I see him as very close despite his young age so I definitely wouldn't know if the match had been done when Mike was 20 too there would have been no match

And here is the official statement coming from MVP, Jake Paul's promotional company who handled this fight,

And they said that they will announced the new date next week, June 7 as when it will be rescheduled. Previous tickets are going to be honored on the new date, but for those who can't attend the new schedule, they will offer a refund.

Not to bash or anything, but this shows that Mike Tyson is really old and should not be pushing for this fight, IMHO.

That is really late, depending on how much I paid I would probably be asking for my money back at this point, just watch it remotely will be fine.   For those that had Tyson as their all time great, a living legend I guess it makes no difference they want to be there just to see him walk out one more time.

I would refund primarily because you have a fairly clear verdict now that Tyson is not full health for the fight so its even more pushed into the exhibition style of bout over an out all rumble.   If its any possible impact I would rather he just did basic commentary and pre fight talk, he can still be part of the picture that way.   I don't consider 50's to be so old but it all changes with health problems.

Its fine for the show but its not going to be Tyson coming out of retirement to reclaim his old peak like some might have hoped.    Ulcer can be serious and anti biotics take at least a month to properly change the prognosis I guess so I was thinking summer date still but more time is entirely sensible.

Money wise it will probably only help build more hype and bid up the prices some more on advertising space and sponsorship.  They are probably going to benefit from the greater time while also I think the fight quality expectations imo should be lowered.

Jake Paul released a video today where he expressed his concern for Mike Tyson. He also said that Mike has reached out to him and behind closed doors is asking for more time to get healthy. He said Mike requested a date in “Q4” so I assume we’ll see him fight sometime around November. Later than I thought, but that’s the best information at the moment.

This is getting really ridiculous. Tyson is obviously not fit to be participating in a sanctioned professional bout. It should be cancelled altogether but I doubt Jake Paul is willing to admit this was a horrible mistake and will still try to go through with it. He is shameless, greedy, and selfish and all that matters is getting his payday and having something to brag about to make himself feel important.

Yeah, but it takes two to tango, so in part Mike Tyson said yes to this fight and so both are guilty in my opinion. And that flare up could really be worse that we initially thought although for some of us, it's already a huge concern that he had medical issues before the fight.

I also doubt that Jake Paul will admit with this mistakes, he has been criticized already in the media and in his social media accounts so for him this is still a green light and he still wanted to beat Mike Tyson regardless if he is healthy or not.

This is definately a money thing and no way it gets canceled.  I think I heard Mike is making $50million off this lol.  No health issue is gonna get Mike to cancel it.  Personally amd selfishly I want this fight to happen I need to see Mike fight one more time.  Only so much highlights ypu can watch.  I know he is old but dude is a straight killer and think he wraps this bout up in a couple rounds.

I think it's about logistics, but not directly related to the fight. It's impossible for them to pull out of this fight. They can change the main fight, or postpone it, whatever. But they won't cancel it. There's a lot of money involved.

The official statement says that they are not going to cancel it, but will reschedule for another date as there too much money involved already and there is no backing down from this fight. So we will see how Mike Tyson will recover first, although they said they will released another date in June 7, but I doubt that. Because it still depends on the health of Mike that time. We really don't know if it will take surgery (this could be the worst scenario), or Tyson just be treated with antibiotics to hell the wall of his stomach or control the acid so that he can go back and train again for this fight. And like others, hopefully, this is nothing serious for him.

Apparently, Tyson's health problem was a little more serious, because if it were something simple it would have been resolved in a few days... But postponing the event, with so many people already having accommodation and tickets booked... complicated.

I hope Tyson recovers as soon as possible

They’re saying that his ulcers need to be treated and doing so would mean he has to stop his training leading up to the fight. So they’re going to give him more time to get healthy and back in training. This is a blessing from Jake Paul’s corner and I’m glad that people are looking out for Mike. This has all the signs of a disaster though.

Breaking news:

Quote
The heavyweight matchup between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul set for July 20 in Arlington, Texas, has been postponed, the fight’s promoter has announced.

In a statement released Friday, Most Valuable Promotions said that medical professionals have recommended that Tyson, the 57-year-old former heavyweight champion, should be restricted to “minimal light training over the next weeks” before returning to a full training regimen.

https://www.boxingscene.com/mike-tyson-jake-paul-postponed-tysons-medical-flare-up--183936

When we thought that it was just a simple ulcer flare-up, it seems that he can't fully devote 100% on his training and so they decided to postponed the fight for the time being. For sure we are disappointed to hear this bad news, but health comes first specially at the age of Tyson here and it's good that they heed the medical professionals call here. We might get a new date once Mike fully healed.

Slowly this situation is turning into not Mike Tyson destroying his opponent, but his opponent destroying Mike. Jake Paul has already tested himself on senior or retired fighters, now he is about to fight most aged opponent. I believe that hit & Run tactics would be a perfect match here. Mike Tyson can be a truly legend and professional, but on July 20 he will be fighting two opponents on one time. His age and Jake Paul. Dont know of Jake Paul should be proud or any happy if he wins by knockout.

It's seems that everything has settled down already, Tyson is back and I will assume that he is now continuing with his training and might be closely monitoring one what he eat so that he won't see his ulcer acting up again.
let's just hope it doesn't act up before or during the fight because if it does, that'll ruin the match. As far as I know, ulcers can flare up during stressful situations, he may be an experienced boxer but I'm sure this fight will still be stressful, especially with his age and his condition. As much as I would love to see Mike Tyson fight again, but if his health condition is fragile he should sit this one out. but then again, the most probable reason why he took up this fight despite his condition is because of the money it'll generate for him.

Tyson: 2.46, Paul: 1.48.
I guess the big age gap between the fighter and the current condition of Mike Tyson is the reason for this odds.

In the videos I've seen, Mike looks like a grandfather, while Paul is literally the typical movie bully. I would really like Mike to win for real, just like in the movies. But I hope that above all we can bet and make some money out of all this.

He is a grandfather already at 57 years old and turning 58 when they are going to face each other in the ring. So that is a big red flag already in this fight and then his medical condition that's why the odds maker put Jake Paul as their favorite. Although in some videos, you can see Mike Tyson still have that power to boot, but as we have said, it's just training and the punching bag doesn't punch back.

Maybe there are fans like you who wanted to see Mike Tyson win, specially if you are a fan and put a big money on Mike at ML to win. But still though, we can't take away that Jake Paul is the younger fighter here and if the fight goes to distance, we might see Tyson can't keep up with the phase and easily tired and Paul winning by decision.

I dont think the ulcer thing stops the fight but its still relevant to his overall health alongside all the other factors from his age and also questionable state of fitness since he originally retired.   Ryan Garcia bravely offering to take over is kinda funny but cant blame him, so long as he is not expecting his name to command the same pay arrangements for the fight win or loss.   The ages would match better at least but Im not sure the other stats do, if it were a normal match up.
I didn't know that Mike had an ulcer, and it seems to me that this is a serious factor that can affect the fight. Jake can take advantage of this and strike in the stomach area, one good blow and that will be enough and it’s all over for Mike. But I am more than confident, that this or any other disease will not prevent them from having this fight, because there is too much money at stake and then Mike will be able to go for the best treatment he can find.  Grin

Well nobody knows it unless it was just reported last week and everyone was concern about it, not just because the fight could be postponed, but definitely as a fan of Mike Tyson we don't have to hear this kind of health issues.

Nevertheless, it will not stop him to push the fight as scheduled. It has already been set and money is already in the line here.

Speaking of money, here is the ML, Tyson: 2.46, Paul: 1.48.
