The more I read about this match and the more promotion that I see, I feel like it's going to be basically a sparring match. The fact that it's on Netflix and not Pay per view also tosses a red flag at me. While I feel like in his prime Tyson would knock the snot outta Paul, there is no denying that the 30 year age gap is a big deal. Tyson could probably hang in there for 5-7 rounds, but has not been training like he used to. Paul clearly has the advantage as far as being in shape goes.

It's likely that this is just a glorified sparring match and neither will be giving 100%.

You're right about Netflix coverage. I don't think they would promote such violence. Furthermore, it is very likely that they will come with a documentary style, before during or after the fight to give more engagement. But in the end, I still think it will just be an exchange of punches between friends.

This match is to hyped for a person like Mike who hasn't been keeping himself in shape or rather fighting to get his A game back on track.

But funny thing is he thinks this will be a walk in the park fighting a younger lad with the early retirement his promised Jake, but seeing some of the video footage his been sharing..he seems faster and stronger than Jake and I think he will take this one unless Jake can avoid those power punches and fighting to close to allow age do the fighting for him as he has lost the endurance!

Mind games or not, this should frighten Jake's camp!!

This is just hype, but somewhere in media I have seen that Tyson has said that he is doing this only to send Jake to WWE to his brother faster Cheesy
I've also read that article and both fighters will say anything to hype this fight, Tyson, the $20 million is not bad for Mike Tyson other top boxers in this generation cannot get that amount but in Mike's case, he is still active in the boxing industry so he deserves that price.

Quote
I would gladly believe in that this whole fight is fake and would never going happen. Netflix is rich, but that seems to me a waste of money. Tyson should have a rest better, but Jake better fight someone his age and skill.
It's still three months to go if it fails to get the hype and the subscription does not increase there's a possibility that the fight will not push, I read that Jake Paul just had the same tattoo on his face the exact one on Mike's face, expect a lot of circus-like scenario headed to the date of the fight.

Even with 10 millions, people might feel themselves as beggars Grin When you have hundreds millions and is used to wipe ass with 100 banknotes, 10 millions might make you feel like a frequent Costco or Walmart coupon user Cheesy Mike is definitely not doing it for the money.

AFAIK, Mike Tyson isn't in a very good financial situation. He would fight anyone for a few dollars.
This would be more like a circus or US wrestling rather than a real boxing match. At this point, I truly believe that there will be a fight between Floyd Mayweather and the Paul brothers(it doesn't mater Logan or Jake) in the near future. Mayweather and the Paul brothers both like money and shitcoin/NFT scams so there won't be a problem for them to setup a match and get some easy money.  Grin
I really don't know who is going to win between Paul and Tyson, maybe whoever gets proclaimed as an outsider by the bookies. Grin

Where did you get that information? Wasnt it only in the past, his promoter Don King, stole most of Mike Tysons money. I havent heard that Tyson is in so bad situation that he would fight anybody. At least he has earned recently when he helped Francis Ngannou to prepare against Tyson Fury. And if he would really be in such urgent need of money, I think he could have organized a friendly fight with some of former boxing champions. That would be more easy and less harmful way to earn.

He is still a millionaire as what we can read online.

As of 2023, Mike Tyson, the iconic figure in the world of boxing, boasts an estimated net worth of around $10 million. This figure, sourced from Celebrity Net Worth, paints a complex picture of a career marked by astounding success and notable challenges.

That was in 2023, $10 million is already a lot of money. However, compared to other boxers who are making millions every fight, that might not be big enough, but for sure he is not struggling financially, unless he is living a lavish life. His fight with Jake Paul, this could be another million paycheck for him, so that's fine as if it will not happen, I'm sure other boxers will be interested with Mike, and he can still make money.

His life is very related to boxing, so we will see him from time to time, on and off the boxing ring.

Jake Paul's mother is nervous on what will be the faith of his son in hands of Mike Tyson since maybe he see those clips where Tyson is so scary for showing up his strength and power despite of his age. Also Paul got nervous for what he see on Mike Tyson so this is interesting match to see if Paul could really handle the out of prime mike since if he let his guard down on this match for sure mike will put a sentence and make Paul eat pure cereal for weeks after their fight.  Grin
Surely His mother have watched Tyson's golden years and this is what made her have this thinking and also up to now Mike is showing his power but we also knew how weak Tyson in terms of stamina because he is a power puncher .

I'm also surprise that Tyson still have that strength and power combination. We can see that despite of his age he can still defeat those people challenging him for an exhibition match.
yet Age always matter in boxing(of course with skills like jake paul) so this is a very interesting match and I thank the organizer for putting this on.

I would bet that Jake Paul will last a maximum of 2 rounds, Mike Tyson is a legend, a boxing machine, his physical shape and strength at his age is impressive. I say again what I said in previous posts, I believe that Jake Paul will not be able to lay a finger on Mike Tyson. He will take a "perfect" from Tyson.

I would be willing to take that bet, I will give you 1:2 for that if you are interested. Yes, I agree Mike is a legend, no question about that but his age against a very active boxer, I doubt the will last. It's called an exhibition match for a result, Mike Tyson might not be KO, but his stamina will drop in the actul fight resulting to a loss in this fight. Bear in mind that Mike didn't retire when he was still winning, he retired because he was already losing his fights.

He just beat Ryan Bourland recently who looks like not willing to fight and Jake is up again for another.
They should call this a fight but an exhibition but believe it or not is happening. You think Mike is done after Roy Jones but Jake wants to pull him again for he just needs recognition from the boxing community.

I would be surprised if Mike beats Jake. He is 60.  Would you bet if its on Stake?

Mike is still on to box , as his recent videos shows how confident and beast still he is in trainings and of course knowing Tyson he can apply this in the ring .
on the other hand Jake is a Young and aggressive boxer so if he can apply this into the match then the fight will be 50/50 win/loss so who will be the winner? even if this is an exhibition game still excites me.

It's because Tyson's was a gift so it's natural for him even at this age to have that raw power, similar to what we seen in Pacquaio recently. He had videos on mitt and you can hear that once his punches landed, it has a loud sound, similar when he shadow boxers, his speed is there that's why there are speculations that he will be back in the ring again as pro fights.

Paul is the slight favorite if I'm not mistaken, so he shouldn't be afraid,  Smiley. He accepted this fight and most likely he knows that Mike Tyson might be strong only in the first couple of rounds but if he can survived and avoided Mike's power he might be good all throughout.

Into his prime days then we can say this one but consider that he's 57 years old of age as of this moment then its not bad to assume out that his age would really be taking a toll when it comes or talks about performance but we do know oor we arent blind that boxers would really be always be having the advantage in compared into those who are none or simply their experience gap is really just that too wide.
Even if Mike is old but doesnt mean that he wont be packing up a punch. For sure one straight solid counter or straight jab then for sure it would really be a KO.
I dont underestimate Paul but this man is shit and just like on what others been saying on here that i do love for this man to be taking down or would be sleeping in the canvass.  Grin

For what they see on those clips for sure thay there will be adjustment on the fighting style of Paul and for sure they know that he can't fight a head to head battle with Tyson since the Legend still capable to cut his head if he give Tyson a chance to do it.

But for sure experience will prevail here and I believe Tyson won't let the fight last for more rounds since if that one will happen we already know what will be the possible result of this since we can't deny that Tyson is old and that can slow him down. I also don't underestimate Paul the guy show some great spirit for fighting a legend and he just need to be smart on this fight then use his youth as advantage to win.

At his prime, Mike Tyson would knock the shit out of absolutely everyone. Even at the age of 57, I believe he is capable to beat more than 99% of the whole society, he was an animal, a different beast, we have never seen someone of his level.
Jake Paul, a 27 years old guy fights 57 years old guy. We all know that this is a shit show but let's be frank, we are all interested to watch it. Jake Paul is not a boxer, he is a businessman and knows marketing damn well, he knows how to make money and how to market himself and he does it perfectly. He agreed Tyson to fight him and Jake's marketing is going to generate millions of dollars, financial income will be one of the most amazing one.

Tyson is a Tyson but I still think that it's a little shame to fight against 57 years old and celebrate it if you win. But I'm still very curious to see who wins.
Frankly speaking, I don’t know if I will be interested in watching this fight, and the reason is that Tyson is 30 years older than his opponent, this is not a joke in the ring, you need a good reaction and it doesn’t matter that Jake is not a professional fighter, he spends a lot of time training and he has good coaches working with him, he spends a lot of time on this, and besides, he is much younger and faster.

I understand why this is for Mike, perhaps in his place few would be able to resist such an offer and it doesn’t matter, even if he loses, everyone will understand this, but he will receive a lot of money and will be able to retire, and if at the same time he still manages to knock out Jake, this will be a great end to his career.

Lol, but yeah, this could be the term here, glorified sparring match and as the side they will earn tons of money. And as what Og said, could be Tyson's retirement package as after this, he might not resurface or have interviews.

Or if he will have interviews, his pay might go higher as well because of this said fight and what could be his next fight. They've created hype already, even the boxing community here are very much alive and waiting for this fight. It's the question of Mike's stamina and gas tank and I don't think that he can last that long. Maybe just after 3 rounds his age will show up here and getting tired already.

Mike Tyson has officially ended his podcast Hotboxin. This move isn’t totally surprising as I imagine the money pales in comparison to what he’s about to get from Netflix. This seems like Mike’s retirement if you ask me and well earned. I think after July we’ll probably only see him licensing his name for branding and not doing any more in person work.
