You know what, I am afraid that Mike has agreed to that fight only for the sake of money.

Im pretty that was his motivation alot of times, he just happens to have an excess of skill and natural ability at various times in his life.   I find it hard to doubt him now even years later but health of someone older can be in question just because he is human like all of us so they will stay safe on that aspect pretty sure.

Only 10m for Jake Paul is quite funny, this is only a streamer or YouTube kid he isnt anything beyond just a famous hype merchant.  If he gets 10m he better be very happy about it, I would guess he'll get more in proportion to whatever Tyson gets and in any case they'll be alot of costs and taxes and so on.   Both are lucky so much attention will be given to a fight which is close to fiction in its basis just for show, they should both be glad of the money when real boxing involves risking your life and I doubt this fight is anywhere in that region.

This is what Netflix has to say,

Quote
Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson will stream live globally, exclusively on Netflix on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from the 80,000-seat capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.

https://about.netflix.com/en/news/netflix-and-most-valuable-promotions-partner-on-jake-paul-vs-mike-tyson

So it's exclusive, and so if you are subscriber, I don't think you need to pay extra money for it.

And for those who want to see it live, you can go here for ticket sales: https://www.mostvaluablepromotions.com/

I'm wondering how much is the contract with Netflix on these boxers to show their fight. It's not a typical PPV subscription anymore where a subscriber will pay $70 to $100 just to see the fight, but with Netflix Subscription which I think most of us have, it's just around $10 or less, probably depending on what country you are living too, but it's way lower than the usual rate of PPV subscription.

I think they've done a strategic planning on this to ensure both sides are on a win-win situation. I liked it because in my case I don't have to pay anymore as I have been using Netflix for years now. Good to know this new information, now I just have to wait and see.

According to this article,

Quote
Paul has hinted at the considerable financial potential of the matchup, suggesting a staggering valuation of $300 million for a showdown with Tyson. Conversely, Tyson has signaled that he would entertain the idea of returning to the ring only if the event were to shatter pay-per-view records

https://www.marca.com/en/lifestyle/celebrity-net-worth/2024/03/15/65f4c04046163fb5208b45c8.html

So probably around that ball park number. And they have to split between the two so for sure guaranteed price for Mike Tyson could be very big. And Netflix is slowly getting into sports as we have seen and yes, competition between them and Amazon prime was put on notice when this big news comes out.

And it's just like a week or so when this became official and created a lot of buzz already, meaning the hype is very high.

Cool Idea. The Paul brothers have come up with a good idea for boxing promotions,  this could just be one.
Netflix competes with Amazon Prime after it partners up with PBC. I think this will also be killing those boxing shows like DAZN when Jake Paul and Mike Tyson is going to be making millions for each party.

Amazon Prime is less appreciated by the younger generation so Netflix is probably the best network to show the fight live than PPV where few people can afford.

I can't believe that people still think that fighters are considering these as real fights. Neither Jake nor Mike cares about this fight at all, they may try to make it look like they care, but we all know that they have absolutely no care in the world about the result, as long as they do not get humiliated, that's all they care, if it's a close fight but they lose, they would not care.

The only reason why this even happens is that they realized a while ago that these type of "fun" boxing matches make more money than regular boxing, so they are just abusing the system, create a fight that will generate revenue and keep making money from this. Both will make millions off this fight so it is normal that they will want to do it, not to win but to get the money.

Maybe they are not looking for any intense fight but for the entertainment factor what possibly could bring for this match up. Paul is famous personality and controversial youtuber and you match him up with a boxing legend so expect that this will catch a lot of attention especially for the fans of both sides. People may not care about the result but rather for what might possible to happen inside the ring.

It always the main reason of this fight is money nothing else since they always took advantage of their fame and this is most easiest way for both of them to gather millions of dollars so expect that this famous personalities exhibition match up will always happen since it became a trend now.

To Be Or Not To Be

- snip -

We'll probably see a lot of money squandered on the boxing match and it's even rumored that Tyson will get paid a pretty fantastic fee to fight Paul, but will it be worth the risk Tyson will get in the fight?
Paul and Tyson are 31 years apart so we can be sure if maybe Tyson will lose on the fight, indeed all this time we know Tyson as a heavyweight boxing legend and we know what he fought like, but no matter how great he was in the past, of course we cannot deny if at this time Tyson there is a grandfather grandfather who certainly can no longer match the performance of someone who is 27 years old like Paul.

Yes must be worth of the risk for him, because he could be paid around $100 million and of course that will be the biggest offer he can get at his age.
I think apart from Jake Paul, no one would be willing to offer him above $20M to step into the ring again.
Back in 2020, he only earned $10 million for his exhibition contest with Roy Jones Jr.

Mike Tyson was almost 60 years old I mean that's Grandpa level right, and already retired for almost 20 years so for sure it's kind of going to be rusty right now since there were only a few months before the fight. I mean this was pretty obvious since nobody would care probably about the fight, I mean just to see Mike Tyson fight even at this age there will be people for sure that are going to be willing to pay just to watch him fight again. That just means that this fight is going to generate them a huge amount of money, There might be some chances that it is going to be a staged fight I guess, as we know Jake Paul most of the fights are fixed, I mean he had the money for sure so he could just pay Mike Tyson for sure at least not to knock him out something like that, or worst case to lose that fight.

Still, Mike was looking kinda dangerous at his age as we can see on his pose, the fact that he's a heavyweight could actually be a thing, his punches on his pose and his speed is still going to be a threat to Jake Paul for sure. This is still going to be fun to watch, and gamblers are going to be entertained by this bet, would personally going to bet on Mike even though I might probably lose it still Mike is still Mike.

Even if Muhammad Ali was alive then maybe Paul would challenge him to boxing, because we know Paul is not only making boxing a joke in his content but it seems that he just wants to see boxing legends humiliated when they are no longer as young like as Tyson is now who has worn a cane, I don't know what Jake Paul had in mind so he got into boxing and continued to challenge people who have retired in his career.

I almost fell out of my seat when I heard this fight being announced, but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense.  Jake Paul doesn't fight legitimate fighters, and I'm of course not saying Tyson isn't legitimate, as he's on of the greatest boxers of all time, but he's what, 60 years old and Paul is like 30..just another money grab in my opinion. I honestly can't take any of these fights seriously.  I think they are rigged.

Mike Tyson is 57 years old. I watched the videos that are being shared on social media to show that he is still very fast and his punches very strong. However, these videos do not show everything. Show me a video of Mike Tyson doing his quick moves and strong punches for 3 minutes for 1 round and do 10 rounds of this. I reckon in the last minute of the video he will have his tongue hanging to his knees and breathing very much similar to a very tired dog.

In any case, if this is on Netflix, this is not a payperview? Will this be available for all Netflix subscribers? I reckon all sports organizations like the NFL should also do this.

Yeah exactly, Iron Mike looks incredible for shorts bursts of time in these videos, and he is one of the greatest of all time, but I just don't know how he's going to hold up for several minutes a round.  I would only watch this fight if I was getting it for free, and though technically I'd be paying for it since I pay a monthly fee to Netflix, it's included in my subscription so I'll be watching it.  But, mostly just in hope that I see him knock out Pall within a couple minutes.

Maybe Mike will be good for one to three rounds and after that we while he is almost 60 years of age and shouldn't be fighting. I think it will be available for all Netflix subscribers, that's what I understand. If not they maybe a couple of dollars, but not the true amount of PPV that we have been paying like $70-$80.

And this will be Netflix first boxing exclusive event and so their big boss might be thinking if this is going to be worth the millions. And if yes, they could have another exhibitions or even pro fights as we all know that Sho and HBO are no longer in existence. And their rival Amazon Prime is also streaming boxing events or at least partnered with some big promoters or networks to show boxing.

So this is like a real subscription for netflix users, right? I'm currently subscribed to netflix with $15 monthly payment, if this will be in PPV  i need to pay the amount price. Well, so convenient but not sure I could afford just for one event, I might just settle for free live stream since there's a lot of that in our country, that way I could use that amount to bet and there's a chance I could double it.

For those who can afford, it should not be a problem,  and since it's from Netflix, it would be easy for them to avail as it's a very popular platforms for movies and tv series.

One solid punch or counter then it could be possible.Even we do say that Mike is already old but im pretty sure that the power is still there. Of course it wont really be the same into his prime days but this is something
that you could really be able to tell that it would really be just that enough on making Jake to kiss up on the floor. Just like been mentioned by some people on here that Mike does have those stamina issues
on which if its the main problem into those prime days then how much more into this current age that he does have now?  As for watching then never ever in my experience or consideration on paying up
some PPV just to watch up any exhibition game. Replay would really be that enough for me. lol.

Just like on what you have said that this one would be on Netflix then i would be watching on this one but never ever consider on paying up to just to see or watch this fight.

But in all seriousness if the sportsbooks give very good odds for Mike Tyson it would certainly be a bet for him and wish he will knockout this Disneyland boy Jake Paul.

According to this article Mike Tyson is the underdog.

You know what, I am afraid that Mike has agreed to that fight only for the sake of money.

That is the only motivation for Mike Tyson to agree in this kind of fight. He is already a legend, cemented his legacy. But stories surface that he didn't have any money left when he quit boxing. Although today Mike might have survived, but the lure of money in this kind of fight is enough for him to get motivated and train harder.

And exactly in that fight, we will see a fixed fight. Right now he shows how quick and powerful he still is in his age, to make odds more juicy. During the fight, he will connect some nice shots, but wont go to finish Jake (like in a fight with Woodley), and it will end with Jakes victory by split win (because he does not deserve to win by UD). I've seen few times how former strong opponents sign for a fight while being aged, and make a clown show after in the ring.

There are a lot of scenarios, but if they will stage this fight, might be better to have this score as a draw, no losers and then they huge each other at the end of the fight. And at the back of their minds thinking of the millions already that they have made.

I have found a footage about Mike Tyson getting prepared for the fight against Jake Paul: https://twitter.com/Dexerto/status/1768099449430057412

I know the age gap between Mike Tyson (57) and Jake Paul (27). But after especially watching this kind of preparation videos of Mike Tyson I'm still feeling hyped about him. He might be old but one should never forget his career was full of big achievements.  Smiley  He is coming back from retirement after 19 years.  Shocked  Jake Paul would surely have more energy thanks to his young blood. But Mike Tyson shouldn't still be underestimated even at this age. His punches can still be very scary.

I think it's very difficult for Mike Tyson to last more than 5 rounds, age will really make a big difference in performance, if this fight is a genuine fight (I don't think it will be, it will just be fun for the public) Tyson will have to use all his technique to knock out the opponent as quickly as possible, otherwise, the longer he stays in the fight, the more likely he is to lose to Jake Paul
Hahaha at his current age Mike Tyson still looks very strong with body that is still clearly very strong with muscles that can be said to be quite tight, besides he still often does several training sessions at any time for several reasons such as fitness and health.
But it is true that Tyson will have difficulty facing Paul because of the clear age difference and Paul will have the advantage of speed or agility, it just that for punch, even though Tyson is older, he is still much stronger.
Tyson has the nickname concrete neck because he is very difficult to knock down and Tyson is boxer who has very hard punch who was really feared by his opponents during his glory days, 50 wins of which 44 were knockout wins.
I not sure Paul will be able to beat Tyson by knockout or make Tyson unable to last more than 5 rounds, age is not the main reason Tyson can be beaten easily and he will show everyone that the strength of the heavyweight legend is still there.
With the strong punch that Tyson has, I think and imagine Paul getting it in landslide and making Paul suffer knockout defeat, this is surprise that could happen.

I saw the video that Mike Tyson posted of his first training for the fight, I was very impressed with Tyson's speed and physical shape, he is in great shape, he doesn't even look like a person his age, thinking about it, I think Tyson will crush Jake Paul like he was a bug. Now I find it very difficult for Jake Paul to even touch Mike Tyson.

With Mike, I dont think all 10 rounds would be needed to win, all he needs to do is to catch Jake at ropes or got him stuck in corner and unload series of punches. No matter where they hit, head, body or block, they will hurn anyway.

On Mike Tyson, I cannot disagree and I also cannot agree. I reckon that we should watch his fight against Roy Jones Jr again heheh. It appears that he might have the stamina to finish 10 rounds without breathing similar to a tired dog with fur stuck on throat. However, Roy Jones is also very old and he also might not be trying very hard because he might have a high blood pressure attack hehehehee. But in all seriousness if the sportsbooks give very good odds for Mike Tyson it would certainly be a bet for him and wish he will knockout this Disneyland boy Jake Paul.

According to this article Mike Tyson is the underdog.

That fight with Roy Jones Jr is a set up or fixed, https://www.essentiallysports.com/boxing-news-teddy-atlas-convinced-mike-tyson-vs-roy-jones-jr-was-fixed-theres-no-doubt/

But hopefully as you have said, we want to see Jake Paul being knockout and what better way to see someone do it than Mike Tyson himself. And if everything is going to be a boxing rule and Tyson is training video is real then Jake Paul will be in trouble. And with that, it's obvious that everyone is not attracted to this fight isn't it. So marketing is very effective as majority wanted Jake Paul to sleep in the canvass and brutally knockout by Iron Mike.

I think a lot of boxing fans who are expecting to see prime Mike Tyson. I don’t think Mike Tyson has that fury in him anymore, I have watch his podcasts, he’s a very different man now. The only advantage he has in this match is his power punch, which I believe will knock out Jake Paul if he is hit. Even though I do not like Jake Paul and his approach to the sport, I do think he is a decent boxer. He’s young and quick on his feet, and will be able to avoid getting hit by Mike Tyson.

We all admired Tyson during his warrior days, back in those days he was wild and no one could stand in front of him, if Jake Paul fought a Tyson of the old days, he would be demolished like what he did against Spinks and, Jake Paul is so lucky that he is fighting an old Tyson.
Jake Paul is considered an opportunist for fighting Tyson when Tyson is 60 years and past his prime and Jake Paul is now in his prime, they are both going to make money here but I hope Tyson can still keep up with a younger, hungrier and opportunist Jake Paul, anyway, I looked at it, it's not fair.

well its indeed unfair match but the pay check are gonna be huge assuming its news of the match are spreading everywhere like wildfire everyone wanna see how tyson at his old age fare against the young boxer jake paul its gonna be really good match to attract the money of many people to be honest, this guy jake paul i think is a good opportunity seeker trying to profit off something and probably this time both of the boxer gonna be making some big bucks here so I guess thats why mike tyson agreed in the first place, he's not losing game even if he got beaten he earned that big bucks that can be good for himself.
but yeah, jake paul here, even if beating mike tyson, gonna get mocked eitherway, but I guess money is important when you can rack millions just from a match like this I guess.
