No apologies necessary. But you are required to crack a block before the month is over!! LOL. Really, make it so!  Cool

I actually LOL'd   Cheesy

That should be the default to anything mistyped in this thread.  Grin

i bought another S9 13.5 today to add to my farm with 4 S9
i hope to found a block this month to be my first one here
i am here from Aug with one miner
every month i got a new one until now

Patience, Grasshopper...in the American vernacular, that's the way it goes, my friend...

No offense intended at all...you're going to be doing OK with 5 S9s, so long as they hold up. I hope, as well, that you find a block this month! More, even...and me, too...

I think you've done quite well with a block a month with that hash rate.

Mine on! Cool

I think the OP meant he got a new miner each month and not a block. That's the way I read it, but I'm on beer number three. Smiley

I've been running four S9's since they came out. I don't have the first batch with the higher hash, but have three 600Mhz and one 550Mhz. One of the 600mHz is under-clocked as it has a couple bad chips. All total I'm running between 49-50TH.
I've found three blocks on Kano since I started mining. Two of my blocks were found with rentals back in the day when I was "rental crazy". One of my blocks was found with my own hardware (a 600MhZ S9).  I'm looking forward and hoping to crack another with my hardware soon. (I've stopped renting.)

If the BTC price were to jump up significantly, I will probably run one of my S7's in the dining room. I have three S7's that I held on to, but I've cannibalized a fan from one of them. Since I only have one extra power supply - EVGA 1600 - I will only be able to run one of the S7's. I'm not buying another PSU.

Anyway, enough babble.
Let's start racking up blocks for the new day.
Mine on!!!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Just wondering why the "Blocks" field on "Monthly Statistics" is so red. I mean we're only about 2.5 blocks shy of our expected block count. I would think it would be more toward the black or neutral.
Thoughts anyone?
It's (as I said when I set it up) based on the luck% (0.9 to 1.1), not the CDF[Erl]
I guess for this month that's been bright red for most of it.
It's really only the end of the month (or after lotsa blocks) that the colour matters - how we went for the whole month.

Thanks for the reply, Kano. Your explanation makes perfect sense. A larger sample size is closer to being correct. Smiley

Yeah, keep the revisions coming.
With every revision, we are getting closer and closer to perfection!  Grin

Okay, just got home from work.... I shall revise my statement once again!!! If we get lucky, we might be able to do 7-8 blocks today!!!  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

(I left for work this morn right after we found our 4th block. It was nice checking into my phone at lunch and seeing we had cracked 6 blocks! We've got time for at least another one!! )
Let's do it!!

Come on BLOCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!
Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool

EDIT: Imagine if you will, a land so very close at hand. Where six blocks crack open each and every day of the month. That's right, ~180 or more blocks each and every month, all year long. Our pool is drowning in blocks. Then the BTC price starts climbing, still climbing. Past $750. Past $800. Past $....? You get the picture.  Cheesy

I'm sorry for the bad luck, I think it was my fault...

I've gotten back in to mining in the last couple of weeks with an S3+ and a couple of SP20s and the pool had a dry spell. Today one of the SP20s has lost a hashing board and this evening the other has disappeared completely off the network, and the pool starts finding blocks!!

And of course the miners are at a remote location where I won't be able to check on them for a couple of days :/

Nope, the bad luck wasn't your fault, it was all of the S9's  Roll Eyes

I think it is because of election day here in the US.
Just like how the gas prices go down before the election...

i have 4 S9's with 49TH/s and never found a block here!

Are you being serious?

But how long have you mined here?
'Fortunately' the bad luck here seems to be just that - bad luck.
Things don't change one way or the other due to anything but bad luck, unless someone has a large amount of hash power to affect the luck.

--

Some simple ways to look at it:

If the pool was 30PH/s and someone added a mystical 5PH/s of 'bad luck', we'd still expect to find 30PH/s worth of blocks.
Miner A (bad luck) can't magically effect everyone else's miners Tongue

or

To have a 10% affect on expected luck (yeah ONLY 10% effect) someone would have to add 11.1% of 'bad luck miners' (never finding blocks) to the pool. So at 30PH/s, they'd have to add 3.3PH/s of 'bad luck miners'

--

So what's most likely happening?
Nothing - luck is just swinging around as it does ... that's called variance Smiley
It goes up and down ... and up and down ... and ...
The smaller the pool (compared to the network) the higher the variance.

--

Block!

Luck, if only we could adjust it for personal gains ........
It's been a good day today mining here I'm happy!

Nothing wrong with that ...

Took me like 2-3 years to find a block ... I found 2 with the same S7 within a few days ...
