A while back, one of y'all had a recommendation re a colocating/hosting company, I think it was in WA state. I'm now having to look at perhaps doing that for some of my "spare" hardware. Please PM me if you have any info. Mahalo...  Grin

I sent you a PM on the subject...

Firstly... Halo to you all here! I am kind of new and been pointing my gear to Kano for some weeks and follow this thread and discussion avidly and enjoy doing it!

clgrissom3 I am also keen to hear more about hosting options that is any good for hardware that I cant keep at home due to electricity limits if you would share with me your info or experience that will be appreciated big time..!! Thanks

This is where i have my S7 at. Very good experience with them. The person that is in charge of the data center part is great. I have his Cell number and email to him also. They always respond to my emails and he will send me a text now and then to check up and make sure things are good.

Thanks Ill go check them out a bit and let you know if it turns out that I want the direct contact info... Much appreciated

I've put the thread title back to 35PH coz it's stayed that or above for a while again.
... and I've added another node, a JP node again as we had before, except I don't expect this new provider to switch it off like the previous one did.

So, for remote nodes you can mine to any of DE, SG, DK and JP
All the same settings as each other for mining, just different first 2 letters e.g. de.kano.is sg.kano.is dk.kano.is jp.kano.is
Like the DK node, the JP is a trial of yet another provider to see how they go.

Of course, it is most advisable to have the main node stratum.kano.is as a backup after any remote nodes you have.

- and of course there's the CN node, but you can't mine to that one, it's job is getting blocks in and out of China faster.

Edit: block! Smiley

I think the CN node is working.... there seems to be a balance in the universe... whenever we get into that long red blocks... the pool gets back on her feet a bit quicker than normal.... just my humble opinion

I believe it was "Toomin Brothers", and I'm sure it'll be either confirmed or denied shortly...!!  Grin

Edit - Toomim, not Toomin.  See, already denied!

Well that didn't last long now did it Sad
DK node is currently dead and I'm trying to get to the web site to find out what's wrong ...
Anyone connected to it will have failed over.
Problems started about 50 mins ago but it's been non-responsive for about 15min.
Well it was all back up and working a few minutes after I posted that, and yes it was a network problem, not a server problem.

Their status page showed they did indeed know about it (though I was unable to get to the status page until the problem was resolved ...)

So I guess we can make a vague assumption that it was just coincidental that it happened on the first day I had it up and running and they do know what they are doing since the status page was not a vague "we're not sure what's going on" comment
(unlike linode who I find I am usually telling them about a network problem and they usually reply: "we can't see it" ... "it's all ok now" ...)

Wow, that'd be really chump if true.  That block is also extra fat and juicy; I saw it was worth over 28 BTC on Blocktrail...

Antpoo just stole block 412203 from its miners. Outer space baby.
Blockchain says they mined it but it does not show on their statistics page. Pretty damn shady.

★ these are stars ★
If it's one of the shiny new B16 S7s, yeah it's loud. REAL loud. I had to encase my two little banshees in a styrofoam wind tunnel to get the noise to something bearable, since I have no separate room for them (living room).

yeah,

I ordered one of these:
http://fr.aliexpress.com/item/Bitcoin-Miner-Fan-12cm-PWM-Fan-for-Antminer-S3-S5-S5-S7-Most-Powerful-Fan-for/32640392679.html

(a lot cheaper than on bitmain shop as shipping is 3x the price of the items)
I won't have the back fan plate but I can make one Smiley
