Question...

How much would I make if I join your pool with one Antminer S9?

I used to mine a LONG time ago and looking to possibly get back in. Just have no idea what the math looks like. Assume I pay 0 in electricity costs.
Best to look at the monthly graph and then work it out from there assuming 100% luck.
Luck goes up and down ... transaction fees go up and down ... expected reward per THs changes every 2 weeks (diff change) ... etc

I guess the simplest way to look at it, if you are comparing to other pools, we only charge 0.9% fee - less than any other larger pool.
We use PPLNS so you get reward variance that you don't get with PPS, but always the 'expected' reward here is higher than the PPS pools.
We expect to average close to 2 blocks a day at the moment, so we're big enough so that most rewards stay current with regards to the network difficulty.

If you use a calculator that calculates based on 100% PPS, then we 'expect' to reward 100% PPS + Transaction Fees - Pool Fee (0.9%) - Orphans

did anybody write to --- for kicking this site?
Or doesn't this make any sense?

I mean the domain was created on 2017-06-30
so it's obvious that they steal the data and name from your pool kano.
Yep - I emailed them.

Will it help, when some of us email them too?
The more the better / faster shutdown from this scam site?
I've no idea Smiley
Not sure if they take notice at all, or what criteria they use.
Hmmm - they're using cloudflare ... I'll send them an email also.

They also tried to ddos it doing 675 bad password checks from the IP 89.23.171.182 - but that has no effect on it ...

It's probably the (Russian) owner of kanockpool.com who just forgot their password.

Using some expensive heaters
Having a bit of trouble with the web server.
Seems like vh's iPhone app is going rampant ...
I'll kill his connection if it continues ... but I'll give it another 10 minutes to see what happens ...
Seems it was someone using the iPhone app protocol to ddos the web server Tongue
The iPhone app accesses suddenly rose up about 20 times the number of web accesses, then it dropped back down again.
Seems ok again ... and I made a little change on the web server so hopefully the extra iPhone requests will have much less effect ... if any.

No. I read messages in order from last message and last page from when the last time I was on the forum to the last page of the forum. I don't read the end to where my last spot was Sad Just a habit I learned from long ago.

Thought I would share this for those that try to understand Kano pools accounting and why some of us like it.

I downloaded my bitcoin transactions and ran a simple spread sheet calculation.

I currently run 2 S9 miners, one of which is only operating at 2/3 as one of its hashing boards is not working.

That gives me a hashing number of  13.6 + 9.2 or 22.8TH/s

For the last 14 days the average total payout per day is 0.007548879285714 bitcoin

each individual payment is between .0039 and .0035 bitcoin

On some days I get 1, or 2, or 3 or maybe even 4 payments. On some days I may get no payments, depending on if the pool finds a block.

The reason the payments vary is due to Kano including the transaction fees collected for block creation and those transaction fees change depending on
factors outside of Kano's control. The blocks found can vary between 12.5 up to and even past 16 bitcoin.
Most "other" poos, er pools, keep that 0 to 3.5 bitcoin but Kano passes it on to us!

The average payment is higher than I would receive for any other pool currently operating.

This is why I stay with Kano.

If you get on Kano pool and mine it for a day or two there is a chance you will not receive any payments or a very low payment. This is due to the payments being divided into 5 roughly equal parts, that are then paid out over 5 payments. Once you have been mining long enough for 5 payments to have happened you will start to see the full amount of your mining on every payment. Payments happen when blocks are found, this means you may see payments right away, or may not see any in a 2 day period. I have seen kano pool find no blocks for over 48 hours and find 4 blocks in 12 hours. Kano provides extensive information on his web page showing what is happening.

Why am I promoting kano pool? Well, the more people that mine here the greater total hashing power. The greater hashing power the more blocks will be found. The more blocks found will keep payments flowing more regularly. I won't make any more money, since with more total hashing power you pay out to more people, but it would provide a more consistent flow of money.

If you wonder what I meant by more hashing power means more people but the same payout for me, look at it this way.  If kano pool has 80PH/s each of my payouts is as stated above, about .0036-.0037. If hashing increased to 160PH/s, then my payouts would drop by about half, but I would get twice as many payouts in the same amount of time. This is because my percentage of hashing is not going to change, unless I buy more equipment. That means my percentage of hashing between a pool total of 80PH/s and 160PH/s would drop by about half, but, we would find more blocks, so I would get the same amount in the end.

I guess Kano would make more money, assuming he would not need to invest in more equipment and fixed costs to support a larger hashing base. I see that as a good thing because I like the way Kano does business.

Think for yourself
the last 2 payouts report as "unconfirmed" in one wallet (Mycelium) and "Low fee" in the other (Electrum).

anyhow they are both not confirmed.

Blockchain.info reports as unconfirmed

Other explorers report as 70+ confs? For both transactions.

Any ideas whats going on here?  Is it just Blockchain.info thats confused the wallets?

I have three like that. I just assumed it was due to the rise of BTC and the number of transactions that have grown due to the rise. Traders are trading like crazy at heights like this. I would like them to arrive at some point but eh, there is always an accelerator if no luck naturally Smiley

Did you read Kano's response?
