Are we sure about that? If I lost 850k bitcoins , I wouldn't be around people on public , even if I stole that or actually honestly hacked , I would be in some god forsaken island working some lame lame job to get away from everyone. He MUST be on drugs to be that calm and still operate everyday. There must be some people who seriously considered a hit on him.

That's not even the most shocking thing. What about the lack of cold storage and ignoring issues that were live on the server? And the shared account I posted earlier? I was shocked reading the reddit thread... Things are far worse than I could imagine.

this may be a dumb question. but what will happen to the stolen bitcoins if karpeles actually had them stored somewhere?
Nothing probably. I'm sure he has them well hidden. If you're smart it's so easy to hide bitcoins so they can never be found. He'll probably do his time then get out and buy an island when bitcoin is worth 10/100 times as much
.I'm not so sure. They have ways to ask questions in Japan. Let's just say that I will not be surprised at all if in a few weeks they have found many missing bitcoins and there are no pictures of how Mark is looking before surgery puts him back together.

The price is going down? It's hovered between $250 and $300 since like around January.
Look at a shorter time frame, not the monthly chart.
Oh, I see what you mean. The price is traveling between such a narrow band of movement maybe that is a better way of looking at it.

I don't care if he ends up in jail or not. What I care about is people's money. Fortunately, I did not lose anything on MtGox incident but I hardly imagine that people who lost money are gonna be happy because scapegoat - Karpeles is in prison. Where are the money? Stolen by hackers? Everything? As you said before justice is reparation of errors and not creating semblance of it by punishing idiots.
