Staying away when you already suffering with huge losses can be track when you have this kind of journals,  people who are still in proper mindsets will determine if they are in need of quitting, unless, you are already addicted then the chance not to value anything is high.
Tracking everything if you have good emotional control will able to lessen the chance of losing huge amount of money.

I usually track all my bets in a separate excel sheet to track every single bet I placed. This way I have a nice overview which allows me to check how much money I win/lose each month. I also track my average odds and how much money i overall placed on my bets. In my opinion tracking all the statistics, is very important to overall win money from gambling.

Right, but I'm interested to know if for example, you already sum up all the money you have lost and won for the consecutive 5 months which conclude that you didn't make enough profits, do you stop or just continue to play like you didn't see nothing on your excel sheet? I mean what is for if your not making any analysis through that information of yours to decide what to do next? whether it is for your good or not.

I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
Keeping a record of your losses over a period of time can obviously lead to the accumulation of the money you lost when you gamble and may lead to a realization that you can buy a lot of stuff.

Well, I think the conclusion to stop gambling depends on the time frame you have spend on gambling. If you have lost a lot of money during a short period of time then maybe there is something wrong on how you decide to play the game, else if you lost the money with a longer timeframe I think that is very normal.

One of my few colleague suggest that it is okay to keep track of loses using an excel spreadsheet. You can include some of the details of the casino game you are playing such as the date or the outcome of the games' win or loses. You can then make some tabulation or a graph that will show a trend which helps you to control your gambling habits or how you play the game.
Only those that know very well that they have spent too much money in gambling are afraid to keep track of it, I have kept track of all the money I have spent in my gambling activities way before I even gambled online with bitcoin and I am fine with the amount of money I have lost over the years since it is not really a big sum of money, however those that have gambled with bitcoin, especially when it was not really that valuable, really regret to have done so since now they think of all the profits they may have if they have held that bitcoin.

Of course anything will be profitable and beneficial as long as you do it in limit.
That's not true, putting a limit and doing it does not mean you will be profitable, that still based on your skills.
Putting a limit will only make sure you will not lose more than you can risk, that's it.

We must maintain our line where we must stop gambling if we are loosing to much and in case of earning as well. Because going beyond limit means we are giving other person a chance to win from us just keep your lose in your mind but never try to recover it and if you are winning then after specific amount of money stop gambling further.
You don't need to think of this when you have good plans prior to gambling as you just need to follow it with your mind and you have to stay discipline that you will not be affected by your emotion as usually that's the devil that would destroy our plan.

It still depends from people to people. Even if you have a spreadsheet of your winning and losses this will not encourage you to stop gambling. There are some websites that show your average winning and losses in your profile and yet this didn't stop other gamblers. Even without keeping track, if you wan't to stop you will stop.

It is very useful if the sites them self-provide you the profits and losses overall or month wise etc. This will enable to person to keep a check of how much money is being spent on this activity and is it worthwhile to incur loss if any. If people are in profits, then it is fine as it is an income for them but for people who are making heavy losses would need to learn from this and should be stay away if possible unless they have huge money and can afford loses.

I believe most of the online gambling sites would have the function to allow players to see their overall profits and losses on their account.
Not all, even sportsbet, I don't think they have that kind of feature added in the site.

But I still see some players who have lost more than 100 Bitcoins to keep on gambling almost everyday, I guess gamblers who are seriously addicted to gambling does not really look at their stats on their gambling records.
I think it's not on the a specific amount as everyone have their own range, if they go beyond their range or their limit, then we can assume they are out of control or maybe already addicted in gambling.

What do you think, will Keeping A Record Of Your Losses Will Make You Realize To Stop Gambling?
After seeing that you could have bought a new motorbike or buy an expensive watch on all your losses that you have computed.

It depends on the people because keeping records of your losses can make you have a good or bad realization which will be dependent on the mindset a certain individual have. Maybe for some, doing such can be helpful because they will realize that there are more important things to spend with rather than using it on playing gambing. But on the other hand, there are types of people who are being triggered to urge on playing more because seeing the record of their losses awakes the beast inside them wanting to keep on trying to play back to be able to win back their losses. There are also people who gets depress or being stressed out seeing those records of losses making them to have regrets that they should not have played gambling at all. There are different ways on how a gambler can cope up to be able to realize whether he will continue to play gambling or just stop. Such ways are dependent on the individual based on his own personality.

God, save BTC!
in fact unfortunately we have to be realistic even in the game we don't have to let ourself be taken by the enthusiasm for a big win but we have to write down both all the winnings and all the losses and pull the sums let's say monthly if the sum is negative and therefore we are at a loss means that our current game strategy does not work...
Good point.

If you are to monitor the outcome the way you gamble, it's good to have put it in records. And if the results are negative it's either there's really something wrong with your strategy or you should stop and think of it whether to push through or not.
There are people who are good in assessing how things can be done if what will be your next steps once you review the outcome of your activities, recording your stats and assess whether you need to change your strategy or you can continue and try some luck using another week or months,
then decide if nothing happened and things still not favoring your side, the next best thing to do is to quit and forget about this place.
It's the reason why you need to think of it if the results aren't in your favor.

You can quit and get out of it forever or just lie-low and take time to relax and think of another strategy that you can apply if things are still not yet good for you.

Of course, when keeping records of losses and winnings you can find errors in your strategy!
In the same way traders make records of trade deals! There is also an accounting book in business...
In general, it is better to always keep a record when it comes to money! Wink

And like what the person above you have said, it's not a matter with addicted gamblers they will proceed and will not care about the track or those records even they've already lose a lots of money the desire to play will be the priorities, not unless there's already a will of stopping it will avoid them to continue playing and give value to what they've already spend from this activities.

But I still see some players who have lost more than 100 Bitcoins to keep on gambling almost everyday, I guess gamblers who are seriously addicted to gambling does not really look at their stats on their gambling records.
Some gambling addicts see that it hurts them and considers the value of loss in the record is the value that must be taken back no matter how much capital must be spent. The greater the value of their losses in the record will make it more difficult for them to stop chasing their losses.
Lol, that means the loss statistics increasingly encourage them to play gambling.
Chasing those losses is no way to find and get it back again. It is to remember that the more we gamble, the more it possible to lose and this could never help. If we are doing this just to cope with the day we lose and applying martingale strategy, this will only worsen the situation.
I supposed to think it before but something it won't help and it only hurts us seeing a countless time in losing with only a few we got to win. Maybe it never makes sense at all, it might better to forgot the past and just enjoy gambling without thinking about the losses you've made.

If they think like that, no matter how much the money they used to gamble and they lose that money will be the hardest way to get it back. They need to stop gambling as soon as possible and never think that they can be able to recover the money after they see the record. The loss will be bigger than what they see at the record. They need to stop gambling for some time and think about the reason why they are playing gambling. They can realize that playing gambling is for fun only and not for making money.

Right, the only thing that can make them stop is their own desire because if they don't have the determination to stop and at the same time they also realize about the loss due to the losing streak suffered but they will continue to gamble and at least they will only stop or take a short break and then going back to gambling and not about quitting forever from gambling. In this case, of course, keeping a win and lose record will not make the gambler stop gambling easily because they may have other motivations in gambling to continue gambling or maybe about greed and not having control in many things.

I don't think many gambling addicts are keeping their records in gambling. But maybe for some who are already thinking of quitting, keeping a record will help them realize how much they are spending in gambling. This will be their basis on why they will quit the game. But honestly, I don't think many gamblers are doing this tedious activity. If you want to stop, then stop just what Genemind said.  Tongue

This what I would like to say too. This method is only used by a gambler who already admits to himself that he is a compulsive one, with the help of a professional, they will assess his gambling record. If a gambler who is not willing to stop have a record, it is not for the purpose of stopping. It can be for the purpose of thinking a strategy to gain back what he have lost.

Honesly speaking, it doesn't guarantee that it can trigger feeling of dissapointment upon a certain gambler. If a gambler is really an addict to gambling, he'll just neglect his known gambling record and keep pushing through what he desired. Thus, it's certainly useless for whatever type of gambler he/she is. On the other hand if you're a disciplined and successful, it's better not to look upon your losses because it might affect your mood negatively. Better to just look for what it positive though thus you'll be able to process your decision thinking while playing the game.
