What do you think, will Keeping A Record Of Your Losses Will Make You Realize To Stop Gambling?
After seeing that you could have bought a new motorbike or buy an expensive watch on all your losses that you have computed.

No, it might be the reason to trigger to gamble more.

As you can see, people tend to take back what they have lost and losing in gambling gives no exemption.  There are lots of players who go after their losses and end up losing more.  So keeping a record of losses may trigger this attitude so it is better to just forget how much we lose and keep on moving on.  It will not only save us from chasing losses, but it also gives us an ease of mind.
It will just really trigger out your emotions since you do able to see or keep track towards your losses and its just normal for you to think that you should consider on taking it back.

In result? you would play even more because you do think that you can take back those amounts that had been already given into casinos pocket.Realization wont come from listing out
your losses but it would always come into your own awareness towards your gambling activity.

If you do realize that you are losing much then if you wont like to lose even more then you should completely stop.

I have seen someone who makes hundreds of thousands of dollars in gambling and I have also seen how someone sold his house for gambling..  just recording losses will not make a person stop gambling because when he makes a profit from gambling the next day, that person will forget the losses from gambling.  stop gambling need extra energy and need awareness in yourself.
Agreed. This is one reason why I really like the Responsible Gambling at bet365 because they have a few quick tests to check ourselves, the best one is Self-Exclusion where you would be away from gambling for sometime and see if you just feel irritated and there are behavior changes in your body.

Coming back to point I think keeping track of losses and wins will help you limit your losses to a certain level.

Well it would surely make you regret gambling.
The last 2 account that I used back in 2018 and 2019 have a huge negative net profit on it,
Just computing those two account already makes me regret gambling my money.
But the big question is, have you still been able to quit gambling? Probably no because we regret what has happened in past but what we are currently doing is something we never doubt about.

It's possible if you can keep up with the diary, but I doubt these chronic gambler can, they can even lies to what they are going to put in their diary, gamblers are good in lying, they will do any kind of excuses just to continue gambling and putting a diary will not help them either.
They even can't accept that they've already addicted and keep saying that everything is all about finding enjoyment, but in reality the losses that they've got if being calculated is more than the amount of money that can be used to start a business of a better life away from gambling activities. Too much engagement with gambling keeps a person thinks differently and forget about protecting his savings.

Well honestly, i don't keep a record. Even though when you compute all my losses in gambling and realize you could buy a new house or a motorbike.
It doesn't keep me from gambling, because i know to myself that when i gamble i fo it for fun.
But sometimes when i loss big time i want to gamble more to get what i've lost in gambling.

It needs to have calmed down to see the result in that diary, especially if the result only showing about our loss. We can lie to other people, but we cannot lie to ourselves because we already get the loss before. It is okay if they don't get effect because of their losses, and they don't even think about recovering their loss in the future. Maybe we need to manage ourselves in stopping gambling, so we don't feel that it is too difficult to stop.

That's probably not gonna work.
Keeping a record will only make you more aggressive to get back those losses because you have the feeling of regret and your mind will push you to play more. Instead of realizing that you should stop when you see how much money you lose, it will give the opposite effect.
It goes down to how a gambler control his self and how discipline he can be when it comes to gambling.

If you record it and felt aggressive that you want to gamble more to get your losses back then there is a problem with your mindset already. This is how most of the gamblers think in gambling. If they lose, they will try to be aggressive and get their money back and after getting their money back they will try to get profits and will gamble until they lose again Cheesy. Kind of a cycle but that is how gambling works.

On the other hand, being a not aggressive gambler will help you especially if you recorded all of your losses and you've realize that it is time for you to stop. Never mind the loses because you can recover it in many ways like working in your job or being a freelancer. Just not get it thru gambling again because you will feel regret in the end.

And that will also gives you desperation everytime seeing the amount you’ve lost in your gambling activities, why not just let the game go and try mo make a agreement to yourself that there will be a certain amount that will be allocated in betting? So at least there will be no other regret in each time you play either win or lose?

This may sound hard to do but it will help you enhanced your self control and managing gambling habits, from profiteering to fun and happiness .
That desperation will urge you to play even more and in the end, you can't stop yourself from playing instead of limiting yourself.
About the agreement that you can set to your self, it is possible but it is only effective in the early time, in the long run, I doubt that you can still keep that agreement you made to yourself.

Based on some reviews and other peoples perspective, keeping track of your losses may lead to both positive and negative impact. As for example there is a tendency that you would like to earn your losses through gamble again. On the other hand you can also choose to decide whether to continue or stop overspending on loss.
I definitely agreed on the last part because that same thought i have in mind, stop or learn to limit ng spending is what must we decide.
Try to look for the whole possibility, as it was discussed, it may lead to both positive and negative. Don't look only to the positive part that you can stop overspending or learn to limit, there is still this tendency that you act to earn your losses back.

No matter how you keep a record of your losses if you can't control your urge of doing gambling, it will still not benefit you.
This is partially true because if you keep a record of your losses you will quickly analyse that you are loosing too much and let me remind you what Einstein said " He called Compound interest the eighth wonder of the world" similarly I feel recurring losses in gambling is as big as that because you loose some extra money daily and if you add them up you could have saved a lot.

The first thing that you have to do upon entering gambling is to set up your limits. You should know when to stop and when to continue. Allocating enough funds for gambling would be an effective strategy to control yourself.
But, even setting limits is letting you loose money, right? If you keep a track of records you will be able to stop gambling much quickly. If you don't know how much you are loosing you won't find a reason to stop gambling.

I never imagine saving can bring bike/ house because currency also have volatility and create flow money circulation is the right answer, even I must use gambling platform. This time, economy is our big problem and should have solution. If my investment fails, gambling is the recover plan.

Before I keep recording or computing my losses in gambling but I realize that it's not helpful to me because you why it turn me to trigger to play more and spend more money that can result more losses.

So now I did not compute any losses any amount I lost and it helps me because I contented of what I win now.

In my own opinion, even you keep all the records of your losses it wouldn't still make a gambler to stop in gambling because it won't bother them even it cost a new motorbike and an expensive watch. The only thing would really stop a gambler from gambling is if someone from his relatives or loved ones will tell him that he should stop or limit himself from gambling.

Keeping a record of your losses will not help much to stop gambling because you only see the loss in that record, and that can make you want to recover the losses. You don't need to have a record of stopping gambling, but when you want to stop, you should have the power to quit gambling right away, and you don't need to say much about your plan to stop gambling. Stop gambling will be difficult, especially for people who are already playing gambling for a long time because they feel that playing gambling is like a routine activity that they still do every day or every week.

The important thing to know is that you know where your money is going.

For example, Money Tracking Applications.
  • There would be categories like Food, Utilities, Transportation, etc.
  • You could allot a budget for those categories
  • It would help you understand where your money is going and if it's still within your budget

Sharing that analogy, you could now say that you are really at your fault knowing that it's either you went overboard your budget or not.

There's nothing you could get good upon thinking that "You could've had this material thing if you didn't gamble" mindset but instead, know that there are risks involved in what you are doing and upon doing so, you accept that risk and there should be no regrets.

If you are determined you are an addict, this could help you understand the comparison with what you could have and what you couldn't. It's a matter of will.

A big "NO" for me. If you are a regular gambler, it's not making sense to do this. It will just build regrets and frustrations. What should I focus is on how to maintain winnings. That's the more important thing to do rather than to think about all your losses.

If a person can't withstand all of the amount losses while doing gambling, to the point that they will list it just to think that they should have already bought expensive things if they didn't do gambling, then definitely, they shouldn't gamble the moment they feel frustrated on every loss. Why still continue after that.

To realize when to stop gambling is not about listing all losses. Honestly, it's not effective after all since it will just urge a person to bring back and recover those losses.

Well I think that would be an effective way to finally stop playing because of the guilt and regrets on spending your money in gambling instead of using it for other important things.

However if we lose our money in gambling sometimes we like to forget about that moment because remembering our losses is quite depressing too. So taking note how much we lost in a particular game cant help us to move on, but of course it depends on every gambler since we have different way to deal with losses.

That could work but I think that could build frutrations more, meaning it can be also dangerous.

I think you should do this starting now so you will be able to track the losses you are doing, listing the losses in the past might be a problem. Most of the gamblers that are already addicted to gambling is already aware and depressed, listing them suddenly might trigger more frustrations and will affect themselves making their depression deteriorate.
