Well it would surely make you regret gambling.
The last 2 account that I used back in 2018 and 2019 have a huge negative net profit on it,
Just computing those two account already makes me regret gambling my money.

You see, I have tried this technique in the past with no fruitful results, and it is countereffective many times because once you see how much you have lost, you would want to gamble more to recover them back Tongue that's how it all works, because you would stop for a moment or so thinking about your loss and then when the urge will come again, the same resistance will act as a fuel to further gamble xD
You had it on point, I don't think we really need a loss tracker because you unconsciously want to win back all the losses or just a break even. I you want to stop gambling try to change some of your habits, even miniscule habits can help like brushingyour teeth with the opposite hand that you are comfortable with, you will in turn develop some self-discipline and that will surely affect your urge to gamble. Add visual cues to unconsciously remind you of doing something.

You should not only keep a record of your losses but also your wins! Don't look on it just from one side. You coud buy a bike with your lost money but what if you could buy 2 bikes with your wins?

You took a risk and blew your money but there are people who won and you can read their stories online. There will always be more losers in gambling not because casinos are rigged but because people don't know when to stop and don't know how to manage their money.

It's a interesting way of view your losses, but if you're thinking this way, maybe it's better to stop gambling right now

I only gamble for fun, so it doesn't matter, I'll only play the amount I'm afford to lose, it's like a hobby, some people spends a lot of money with games, pieces, collections etc
And I'm in total control of my gambling behavior

What do you think, will Keeping A Record Of Your Losses Will Make You Realize To Stop Gambling?
After seeing that you could have bought a new motorbike or buy an expensive watch on all your losses that you have computed.
I have seen someone who makes hundreds of thousands of dollars in gambling and I have also seen how someone sold his house for gambling..  just recording losses will not make a person stop gambling because when he makes a profit from gambling the next day, that person will forget the losses from gambling.  stop gambling need extra energy and need awareness in yourself.
Gambling addiction can't stop someone from gambling even if they record their losses. What they need is a realization of how much money they have lost although it may not so effective but with a proper guidance and support from one of his family or friends, I think someone can be saved by doing this.

Someone who has gambled for a long time will not be easy to stop just because they realize the record of losses, because for me personally keeping a record of losses and also the victory is not something important. When someone has been gambling every day then we know they are gambling addicts, basically they do not even have a strong desire to stop, because the main step that must be done for them to stop gambling is a strong desire and determination and not about a record of loss.

No matter how you keep a record of your losses if you can't control your urge of doing gambling, it will still not benefit you. The first thing that you have to do upon entering gambling is to set up your limits. You should know when to stop and when to continue. Allocating enough funds for gambling would be an effective strategy to control yourself.
Based on my experience, losing in gambling is part of the game but when losing a lot it make me realize about how much the money I spend on it every time I lose. Thats why It make me think on how can I stop the urge to gamble then I decide to make tracker all my loses and win then everytime I looked at it I realize all the mistake and wrong decision I made. And because of keeping a record right now I dont make any random decision, I also think before act.

I think it is a good way of making yourself feel guilty because you can easily see that you are losing all of your investments. But what if you're losing yet still winning little by little? I think it is still not effective. For me, if you really want to get away from gambling you just make the move without listing. Yes of course you cannot just wake up and like a magic you totally avoid gambling but if you really want to stay away you will find a way.

Think about it, look at obese people. They are almost certainly aware that they are severely overweight, if they step on a scales it will be made painfully apparant, while even looking in the mirror there would be no avoiding it.

And yet these people continue to overeat, not simply because they're not aware of what they're doing to themselves, but because they lack the self control to stop.
I see this as a different case for me.

Yes lack of self control is there both in gambling and in eating but eating is needed by our body while gambling doesn't. These obese people sees eating as their hobby and they love what they are doing so they are just eating and eating. In gambling, it is not a thing that we need to do anytime and you can stop it anytime you want but it will depend on the gambler.

In the end, lack of self control is the problem both with a gambler and an obese person. We don't need to record our losses in gambling because one day, you will just realize that you've lost so much money already and this will happen if you don't have money anymore.

It depends on a gambler's mindsets, maybe it would help but if they are addicted then they will surely disregard the fact that it affects their assets negatively. The problem is even if they have done that but they don't open their minds for realization then it won't work. Personally, I don't do any record with regards to my gambling expenses because I only use my extra cash, but my experiences makes me realize that I need to understand my limits. I experience playing without knowing my limitation which makes me lose some of my funds and my situation that time makes me realized that I should stop it, because it can affect my way of thinking and even my life. It makes me realized that if I gamble, then I should have self-discipline and limitation because it will guide me on handling myself properly.

Yeah, exactly. Show smokers the disgusting pictures on cigarette packs and show alcoholics the liver disease and it does not stop them. I told my friend he smokes 1/2 packs a day how much he spends in one year, and he could already even afford a new luxury car with 20 years of smoking but does it stop him? Addiction is something very special to deal with.

Depend on the persons .
If the persons is too addictive in gambling or they make it as a hobby it will never change his mind to play even he see how big  its lost from playing.

Its like other addiction- smoking and drinking if they see the amount they lost and payed having this hobby would they stop?  Of course not
They will find it difficult to remove what they already have or do every day.

Actually this was one of the methods that made me give a break to gambling. I personally didn't kept track of all my losses but the website I was gambling on had a data type of thing where you could see your statistics and it showed how much you wagered and how much you won/lost as well.

I didn't realize that had something like that for a long time and just gambled whenever I wanted to, after a while I realized they were keeping track and checked my own statistics and realized that with the amount of money I lost, I could have paid all of my debt, that made me quit gambling for a long time. I paid all of my debt and became financially alright and came back, now I have debt again so I am starting to think there is a correlation Cheesy I quit gambling last week so let's see how it will do.
Keeping a record is a good way to track your loses especially when you gamble a lot and you wll have realization about the a lot of money you spend to gamble, but even you have record to your loses, still its depend on you if you quit to gamblng to overcome your loses or not. But if you can't stop the urge to gamble then you should be have record all your win and lose, to aware you from any harm you might encounter because of it.

It is a one way to motivate yourself to stop on gambling a great way to be angry to yourself.
I am thankful that I only lose a few Bits since I don't gamble much and I would rather save it and use it on other things.
But this wouldn't really stop me from gambling since I am doing it for fun and I always limit myself to only deposit small amount.

On my personal perspectives about the computation, maybe I would regret all of that losses. It might change my plans in life and because of that record, most probably gambling might be removed on my priorities and start a new ways of life. The journey will begin and another chapter will start, because we will realize the importance of money if there's a data from that activities which will inspire us to change ourselves for good. This is really recommended and will suggest to my relatives and friends.

Nope, most gamblers are aware of their losses in gambling. Maybe not exactly how much they have lost but at least they are aware of the estimated figures they have already lost. However, this will not stop them from gambling. Most gamblers hope for a chance to win big in gambling either by jackpot or simply by playing and wagering big amounts. Even if you keep track of your losses, gamblers might even find a reason to play more since most gamblers play to chase for their losses which is not a good practice.
