People with such kind of habits will never choose gambling like platforms for their entertainment because they are like living based on calculating their income so they will give that amount to saving rather than spending. But if you are a regular gambler and betting on different games, different websites then you should keep track on the wins and losses or else you may keep losing money even without your knowledge.
Right, I also think that the people who are cautious about their losses stay full of defense by being extra careful on each of their wager on their bets. They are the type of people who chose to gamble for money. It's hard to be a person like this because if you lose you will have a grudge to earn back your loses and can possibly turn into more mess b losing more.
It's not gonna happen if you have the discipline, yes everyone who aim for money in gambling will always try to win back their loses and be profitable, but there is always a limit,  especially on the bankroll management and they will have to improve their strategy by correcting their mistakes as they won't be able to be profitable without consistency.

Honestly it all depends, just because you feel sad or just because you don't feel sad shouldn't really mean that you are addicted or not. Let me give you an example I have gambled probably 4-5 times a week early last month, I was gambling and basically losing as well but I was having fun, it was basically a collective thing together and I was having fun with friends. Never felt bad, never felt sad, never felt like I am addicted.

When all of that was over and we got into quarantine so I stopped gambling with my friends and never felt the need to continue gambling without them. Simply put there is no connection between what you are feeling and your addiction.

So if recording money that you losses make you sad don't do that but for sure recording all your winnings makes you happy.

And that's going to make you sad too, because I'm sure the total number of your winnings is much lower than the amount of your losses, it is pretty frustrating to know that you could still count it in all of your fingers, or it is not yet even close to 100 after all the years you are playing gambling. I'd rather not to list anything at all to avoid the backfire, in my opinion. Enjoying every result or having self realization will do.

Indeed. It is ba for me to always look for your past losses since it will only frustrates me and regret the move that I do . Once is enough for me, if I see that then the next time I will not do the same strategy, but I will forget that since it will become a regret that can never be change nor improve. So let go of the record and be more productive and disciplined in gambling.

Keeping a record of your gambling losses will make you sad hahaha LOL.

I would consider this as a good indicator that you are still far from being addicted to gambling. If you are still feeling sad looking back at your losses, that means your sanity is still intact. That is basically good. You should be afraid when you are on a long losing streak and you feel nothing at all. If you start to feel numb over the amount of money you have wasted on the gambling table and yet you keep on coming back, that is already alarming.

Yes because in the end of the day you will realize that your losses is to much and you wouldn't add more than that and self control will be applied when people who do that see his records, but its hard to find people doing this thing since most of the gamble doesn't even care if they lose or win since they are just playing just to have fun.
True, why people track their record is they want to take gambling seriously, their goal is to win and they want to know if they are already consistent or not, it's their guide to ensure that they are going into a journey with a realistic approach, typical gamblers does not need this, we just go in and out,.. we are not here to fully focus with a mission.

Of course because money is hard to earn and what if the money that they earn is the salary to their work.
So if recording money that you losses make you sad don't do that but for sure recording all your winnings makes you happy.
I believe a player don't need to record any money they lose or even winnings just controm yourself is enough.

Maybe for the others keeping recording their all losses after the computation what they lose maybe they think that instead of playing gambling they save the money so that's the point that they have chance to stop playing gambling.

But I did not do that because I can manage myself right now so there is no need any computation those people I think to do that is the player who become addict.

I agree that is why I stop looking at all my losses, it's very depressing seeing how many money you have lost from gambling but it cannot stop me from gambling I just minimize the funds I spend and the time that I allocate, it will keep you in a safe side if you can control yourself.
This is only for those people who cannot control themselves when playing so they must have realization how much amount they are losing because of their falls gambling habits but for responsible?nope this is not necessary since everything can be settled by our own activities.
Enjoy playing and don't take it seriously because if you did?then either frustration, bitterness or addiction is what you will get.
I don't think it works like that.
Even if you can control yourself and by the time that you see your losses you will feel the same way. Having control over yourself doesn't mean that you don't lose in gambling, right?

I have always kept a record of my gambling when it comes to sports betting as I like to track if I'm making a profit each year or a losing year. My strategy is when I have a losing week or I see more then two days in a row where I've had losing days, I take a break and come back in 3-5 days time and I have found that this helps me out a lot. Its always good to take a break after a bad couple of days as for me it stops me from betting more to make up losses which so many do and end up losing more so I suggest people take breaks when they have a losing patch, it can help a lot so keeping a record can help track losing days.
Tracking our past records of our gambling history is necessary especially if we want to know if we are still profitable in doing gambling. I have spreadsheets where I record my history their everytime I bet in esports or any sports related online betting for me to know my strength and weaknesses. Before I bet, I also record my emotions and also after the results; I also record my emotions and feelings. I always giving care on how I feel because gambling psychology is also important and we cannot ignore it especially if we want to be a better gambler.

This means that you are a long term sports bettor, and I presume to have a bankroll for the whole year or whole season of the games you are gambling.
As for me, I only manage to tally my record for the whole season, I like betting on NBA games so I make a record of my history and there its easy to determine my profitability rate as that will tell if we are successful or not, then adjustment will happen.

Keeping a record of your gambling losses will make you sad hahaha LOL. But, still it's not gonna stop you from gambling, stopping on gambling will make difference in every person so it might boost you to get back those losses and bet big or just like you said it might stop you considering that, it will make you sad. For me, there's only one way to stop from gambling and that's like every addiction solution is; little by little, cut the time you are on gambling and focus on the other thing in that way, you are slowly stopping on gambling and that's the very effective way to cure your any kind of addiction including gambling addiction.
It is really depends on how you see your records, maybe there are people who seeing it as motivation to become more better gambler or maybe they seeing it as a way to stop gambling especially if their records are more on losses. I do recording but my reason why I do it is simply because I want to improve my skills and develop the area that I am weak. I am not part of the people who recording because they want to stop gambling, I record because my goal is to learn and not to stop.

for some people this technique will work, but mostly those people in the middle status specially, in the lower rank, if you show them that this is what you have lost, what they will going to do is do more, why? because people always want't to win, but instead of winning they will lost more, this will only make them gamble, so i suggest you give them other ways or approach if you want them to stop permanently.

If you know that you are losing a lot or just could not control yourself from getting hooked to the gambling, then actually maintaining the books is very good idea. Though you will feel bad and sad about loses but it only help you in your future and time will come where you can have full control on yourself where either you can just play for fun or only play once a while.

In Code We Trust
What if it happens the opposite way? Because not all the time people losses, there are some that are fortunate to their betting. Well, if we figure out that we are betting huge amount of money too often then we are winning through it, will it make us stop gambling? I guess not, so what we should consider to stop gambling is our losses, and it doesn't directly mean that if we record just our losses, we will stop gambling. Try to compare winnings and losses and see the results. Then analyze the result to form conclusion that will make us a better gambler, not to surrender, there are ways to limit betting, because believe me or not, if we are betting for a long time, it is like taking something a part from us and that will make us feel sad and incomplete.
