Well, it's understandable why people don't want their activities to be known around their neighborhood because it's not something that we should be proud of in the first place. We definitely know the ups and downs behind our gambling and it's one of the reasons why we don't actually vocal about it because we know that if they will know, we will be viewed negatively and surely we don't want that as it can really cloud their judgement towards us. You know, there are somethings that we can't take it back.

Keeping something a secret to yourself means you're actually mature enough to not let people know about what you're doing, that's also called privacy. Gambling habit makes you win big or lose big. If you win big, it's better to keep it a secret so not to put yourself in a situation where someone may harm you for your money or people may start gathering near you to ask for money like beggars. If you lose big, well then I don't think you've got a reason to let anyone know that you gambled because then, they'll not stop you but make fun of you (backbitching about you if not in front). So in both cases, it's better to always keep it a secret and never discuss the same with anyone because doing it anonymously helps you stay safe from the eyes of this world.

If it's to the extent that police gets to arrest people that are engaged in gambling activities it goes into detail that it's unlawful in your part of the world for people to gamble, because in my country there are police officers that also gamble too and we do see ourselves in the gamblingg house as everyone minds their business gambling. For a country like yours I wouldn't blame anyone who keeps his gambling activity a secret or call say they ain't proud of it as it's the only alternative they have for their own good

When you are looking at it from the aspect of gambling, I think you are contradictory it, a secret something that what to keep but sometimes people doesn't know why people like to keep secret in particular thing they do, their is some certain things that  worth keeping  secret and their is some things that did not worth of keep, like gambling I will say participating in gambling, it does not require you to inform your family even though you lose or you gain in the gambling you don't need to inform anyone because it involves risks and taking a risks that means you are ready to take anything that is out from it.

While I could understand the logic behind your thought process and I would say you're not entirely wrong. Societal pressures and hate from your peers when they find out you involve yourself in gambling is definitely detrimental to your mental health and social reputation. But I'd do you one better.

Try letting some of the people you trust the most that you're into gambling. Only the ones you trust the most, no one else. Why? Well if the eventuality comes that you need them for something, like connect you with a rehabilitation facility for when you feel like you've succumbed to gambling addiction, they know what to do right away. Keeping stuff to yourself would cause bigger problems when things go south. And I know people downplay this a lot but the dangers of succumbing to gambling addiction without you knowing is big and is real.

I agree! So why hide any activity if it was done in moderation and with just given extra money in your pocket I think we can surely go and bet if the money is not illegal at all then tell your husband and wife that you wanted to make a bet on something this will not only give extra income for most people but a joy that you are not hiding something from someone, no pressure included and no worrying that you might get caught, is just making an explanation that you are gambling with some extra money and not causing to deplete the savings

But I think your partner will accept it if it is with sports gambling and not with Casinos, for sure I will accept my partner to play with Sports gambling that with Casino,


They don't feel regret because they are addicted to it, and for sure they are not ashamed if their family and friends see that they are gambling Well, yes if you are addicted to gambling you can not think clearly anymore and you are just thinking about gambling the whole time, and will eventually keep on using your money to gamble it is clear that people with addiction can not control themselves anymore and with this addiction it is really uncontrollable and it is on the higher stage of addiction for sure,

Not sure though, you can only keep that secret for that long. Just a couple of months ago, I saw my neighbor in a land base casino and he doesn't want me to tell it to the neighborhood. But the thing is someone have seen him and his wife and so there is a noise within the place because his job is like to give lectures or something.

But I guess no one can really hide his gambling activity to anyone. Even today, I just got home from a land base casino and saw someone that I knew and I never thought that she is also into gambling.

This is what I did since I got married years back, I told my wife that I do like gambling and luckily it is not a problem for her.
I told her that she should help me to control my gambling habits just in case there is a time when I am out of control.
I have a plan to tell my son as well in the near future when he is mature enough to know about gambling, so there will be other who can help me to control my gambling habits.
However, I have to start from myself, I means it will be better if I can gamble responsibly or in other words is that I should not rely on them.

I hope it is better for a gambler if he keeps his gambling habit a secret. Because in the society we live in today, different people live in different mindsets. But I have seen many murubbis in my area who make a lot of bad comments about such gambling or betting who indulge in this activity. In that case it is understood that when a gambler places a bet on his name, his family is called various bad words by the people of the society. Accordingly if a gambler keeps his gambling a secret then it is definitely a good sign. Because if that person gambles without keeping such a secret, then a gambler keeps this matter a secret keeping in mind that there will be various comments about him in the society. I would say that those who keep their gambling a secret for self-respect must be proud of it.

It should be because that's what the both of you promised on your wedding day and it would be a betrayal to her if she doesn't even know that you're into gambling. Moreover, it is their given right to know what is happening inside or outside the house and we have a responsibility to share everything what is exactly happening to our life, it may be good or bad, we ought to tell them because that's what a husband/wife should do.

There are lot of things that can happen if we don't tell them anything and sure there are a lot of options to explore if we tell it to them because at the end of the day, we need them to help us and they cannot help us if they don't even know what's going on.

Agree. A wife deserves to know whatever experiencing by the husband. It includes gambling habits, a wife should know it very well. Not every time a gambler can control his emotion, sometimes the games can trigger a gambler to spend over budget. It will be worse if a gambler feels disappointed with the result, then he tries to catches the losses. If a wife doesn't know this, the gambler can be addicted or end up with losing all money. A wife can remind his husband that playing gambling is for fun only, don't waste time to catch unrealistic goal on it. I believe only a close person like a husband or parents that can help a gambler in a bad situation. In a certain situation, a gambler can be difficult to fix a problem himself. So, he needs someone who knows him well.

I share with your sentiment because it's not something that we're supposed to be open with in the first place because often times, if not all of the times, people will always connect negativity towards gambling and we cannot blame them for that because they also have a point but that's not the whole point as when they will find out that you're gambling secretly, just expect that they will use the term "addict" on you as that's how it is on their perspective. We may or may not want to be judged, it is still better for us to keep it ourselves and only share it to few selected people that will understand us, preferably gamblers as well because they do know the feeling, except to our own family because they have every right what we are doing.

I believe that this Type of behavior occurs a lot in third world Countries, because things like that in Europe , the USA , China , Japan , I don't think they are thinking about Something like that, the game is the game, the casino , betting is They see it as something normal and not as something negative. The people with whom I have talked about these things , are very dedicated to religion because some of them do nothing but live thinking about religion and everything that it means to have these things, there are people who, from the moment they wake up, what they do It is going to the churches to "work" but it is something that I do not Understand , because they do not receive any type of monetary gratification, and I wonder, how do these people make a living? how do they eat? with what? What do they give you only in Churches ? Only those who are pastors do is ask for money from those who attend, they ask for up to 10% of their salaries from each one, so that type of thing exceeds my logic about religion, something that does not fit in my Head.

So, in my opinion , that is bad, but not for them, because they have to maintain the status of a pastor who has everything , latest model trucks, a super luxurious house, and the best delicacies for them, I think sometimes people go too far stupid to believe that a pastor, father, pope, is closer to God the Heavenly Father than each one and their spiritual growth, and less that it has Something to do with casinos and Gambling.

The truth is that people when it comes to things to spend, fun to some it seems Bad , or Diabolical, and the truth seems to me that they are nonsense, people who do not like that, it seems to me that as a way that nobody Plays or out of envy they begin to invent that, then things will always have that tinge that they will have enemies from the walk, I think it is that those people who are Dedicated to Inventing this type of thing , should go to the casino , it is It is very Difficult that they do not like the Games,  that they experience the emotions on Another Level , that is what is Needed.

On the time that you do find yourself dealing up with something and already becomes a habit then it would really be particularly means that you are really that spending more specially in talking about gambling.
We know that you cant be able to gamble if you dont have money which means that it is really that more expense you do have aside on your daily living expenses. Its not really that bad to gamble if we do just know our
priorities or simply having that borderline in talks about money spending. Keeping yourself that silent on whatever you do isnt bad specially on gambling because whether we do like it or not on which the community or most people do always have that bad views towards gambling and would be having that kind of conclusion that it is really that something that negative to deal with. Well, we do know that lots or tons of people who do wrecked out their lives in terms of finances just because of too much gambling and this is why they do really end up on a disaster.

In overall it isnt really that wrong whether you do gamble or not or making it as a secret or public or you wont really care at all. Its your money that had been used and its none others business on what you
would gonna do with your money since its not theirs but completely yours.Therefore, it would be always your decision that would be followed.

Secret are vital information If when expose will spoil one's reputation. Privacy is entirely what we want to do or have already done without drawing attention to ourselves or others. To be a bit more specific, not everyone knows how to keep a secret to oneself. People will always undermine one's advancement schedule, even if given the slightest opportunity. We all have strengths and weaknesses when it comes to gambling. My gambling behaviors are something I keep to myself, and it is one of my secrets, which only a few of my close friends are aware of.

Why should I be proud of my gambling activities, in my country there is no pride in the gambling activities that are carried out, moreover the police will continue to arrest gambling players (players or business owners) because of the strict laws that make many people label gambling activities as haram and very detrimental to citizens, even though if it is studied more deeply, the income that a country can get because of gambling is very large. I will continue to keep my gambling activities a secret from my neighbours, the level of trust others have in me will decrease if they know I gamble quite often.

Having a "gambling habit" is not a good thing in the first place, it implies that you might have lost control and be in a place where you feel compelled to spend money on it. When you start to mention things like ideology and religion, then you usually end up referring to countries where gambling is actually illegal. So regardless of your feelings on the topic, you should probably avoid gambling or move to a less restrictive area, because not only might in be frowned on culturally but if the government were able to track your online betting down you might end up paying fines or getting jail time. Besides that, it's better to be open with your family and friends, because it's less likely to be an issue if you're not trying to actively hide it from them.

Well, every challenge can be surpassed and overcome but I've got not idea on how they're going since it was just like a message/DM that I've received but I cannot avail to help them that time. There's really no turning back on its effect but just have to deal with it and become the better person if you keep doing the wrong thing.

I hope so too. There have been problems that they need to deal with and I think this is not the toughest that they've been through. Anyway, that's the lesson there that if we're a family man, we know our priorities and we need to do things comfortable for them even if we want to gamble or not. You know what to do and it's fine to such activities but make sure that you don't compromise your priorities.

Gambling doesn't make you a bad person especially if you're responsible in dealing with its risks. People will always say negative things about gambling because they all have personal views about it specifically those who aren't fully aware of how if really works but I don't think their opinion really matters.
 
If you are a sensitive person and won't be able to deal with the negative opinions that you might hear, then better keep it a secret so you could gamble freely and happily. What important is, you know for yourself that you are doing it responsibly and you are managing your finances in silence. Just reach success silently and just enjoy what you're doing.
