Hey korora, I hear you. I've heard this now from a few others and I've experienced it myself. They do clean up decently, but it's also a hassle to even have to bother with cleaning them so I get that, too.

When I went to work on having these cases produced, I chose the TPU b/c I was worried about how a hard plastic case might scratch up some of my designs - in particular any that have a mirror polish to them. I hadn't even considered that they could fog up or possibly yellow over time. Besides protecting the finishes of the bars, I also preferred the idea of the TPU b/c I believed it would protect the bars significantly more when anyone decided to ship these anywhere - they'd have a nice soft cushion as opposed to a hard, plastic one.

I would like to dig int this more, and to have a conversation with my suppliers on other potential options. I also want to be careful here... function over form might be the best path forward considering that a kialara if damaged cannot be repaired as these are sealed permanently with the screws set in with loctite.

Perhaps this issue with the cases is something I can begin to look into more seriously next year. And also, to answer your question, the leather cases are designed to hold these bars inside of their TPU cases... again, placing priority on protecting the pieces.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing.

And MJ thaks for chiming in here as well!!

Reminder to discuss this when we chat this wknd. I can provide some guidance here.

The TPU cases are clouding with age, especially the larger ones of the original batch from December 2019. I keep my Kialaras in a storage box so they have not been exposed to direct sunlight. They have been in a fairly moderate climate with modest humidity and have been handled gently and not very often. The haze rubs off with a cotton towel or shirt and the metal and glass of the Kialaras look unaffected. Dish soap and a soft brush on the case would be better, I may try that next time. Has anyone else experienced the same cloudiness?

On this note, does the leather case provide a snug fit without the TPU case? Looking for the best way to store my Kiaralas. Thanks.

Yes, this seems to be quite common in items made from TPU.

I did a quick search and these 2x articles/pages give some ok general knowledge about TPU and the cloudiness:

I got  a email somebody was attempting to change my password on here, so I figured I'd stop in and see how we are doing here.  Has there been any of the 9 other Thug Lyfe $100 bill pieces sell lately?  Still proudly own #7.

Just btw., really thanks for making those cases (just as the clear cases) even for your older stuff; I've ordered them for all my precious Kialaras and very much looking forward to putting them in Grin The suede inside looks positively lovely...

Looks awesome, thanks for sharing MJ!

And also since I've had a couple people ask - these all-gray cases are specifically for the Messengers and Builders (and any future special edition release).

Spoke with eBay, and they've told me that they removed any restrictions from my account, however... I can't add international bidders to these first three auctions since bids have already been placed.

I will make sure international bidders are included in future auctions, and may consider running a couple here on the forum as well.

There might be a workaround for now... by adding a US address to your profile and making it your default address. I'm thinking you could potentially use one of the escrow's addresses here who has a PO Box, etc... OR, I don't see why you couldn't use some sort of Pack/Mail address or random address... and I would verify the shipping info before shipping.

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Buying/eBay-will-not-let-me-bid-on-an-item-out-of-country/td-p/33943064

Again, none of this was intentional and I hope that anyone who wants to can find a way to participate. I've always gone out of my way to work with customers from across the globe.

Thank you all,

Max-

P.S. Congrats to Mopar for sweeping these million sats  Cool  https://twitter.com/KialaraCoin/status/1718369652978716859

Oh that explain why I have no issue selling there - funny I can sell there but not buy there lol

When I sell I have them pay me to my Strike account which gets converted to Bitcoin - I had to put the payouts on hold for a few months while Strike had disabled direct deposits but its back on now.

Ok, so it seems the issue is this:

https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/selling/selling-internationally?id=4132
How to sell internationally
Have earned at least 10 feedback points as a seller

So it never even gave me an option to select to allow international bidders. I had just assumed anyone could bid.

I could offer up a handful of satoris or similar at bargain BIN prices to hit that threshold of 10... assuming the buyers would be open to leaving me feedback prior to receiving them.

I did message eBay on twitter/X to ask if anything can be done, but it's the weekend so who knows. They were good about getting back to me a couple days ago via X when I had to verify my account from scratch due to a period of inactivity.

Will dive into this more tomorrow, thanks everyone.

~ and an edit to say thanks for testing it out Honeybadger!

I had no idea there were so many people excluded from participation in eBay auctions.

Ok, I may have fixed the international bidders thing... In my profile settings I unchecked a box that said not to allow bids from people with addresses I don't ship to... so maybe you can still bid and then handle shipping afterwards or maybe MJ can help out there? But I didn't see anywhere specifically to add the int. shipping option.

Here's a newer auction that hasn't jumped in price yet if anyone is wanting to test it out.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/285534477172

I tested it and it didn't not allow me to bid.

I got  the following message:  Unfortunately, this item cannot be shipped to Canada. But don't give up just yet — Opens in new window or tab.find similar items offered by other sellers. (5010)

I also noticed that they also only show up under ebay.com if i go to ebay.ca i can't even see them.
