I have seen several airdrops asked for KYC, but i cannot imagine myself go near them, not to talk of participating. I just ignore airdrops of such nature. I can't because of meagre amount, give out my details.

This bad precedence turns out a common practice. i remember KYC for capassity airdrop. Thanks to god i didn't pass it, and it was really funny, people received like 1-2 $ for this airdrop. I am not ready to pass KYC for such a small reward.

I think it's a bad idea to go through a KYC to get airdrop. But I had 1 time to pass the KYC to get the airdrop ubiatar, it was necessary to pass the KYC and register on the Ico engine platform, but at the last moment they acted dishonestly and removed KYC passed before and, accordingly, did not pay to many participants of the airdrop.

KYC should only be required for transactions over a certain limit not for airdrops that are generally worth a very small amount

You're taking a big risk providing your identity documents to unknown parties especially if the project turns out to be a scam so always be cautious you investigate the project thoroughly before doing so

You are right, KYC should be used for transactions over certain amount only, because no one need to wash $100 for example.
KYC for Airdrops screams scam from miles away. Stay away from projects like that.

I agree with you completely
What does it mean to present such sensitive papers for small sums?
There is a need to pause against these mistakes and I think the forum is the right place to do this

Numerous individuals don't care for KYC, however it is an answer for crypto to be perceived by the world. At that point KYC could be required just in bounties to decide whether you are a genuine individual, so you can contribute. However, anyone can make shitcoin and an airdrop for it. So for what reason should I give them my own information. I want to remain unknown in the net. So don't advance this pattern. Simply don't take an interest.

I have recently seen where bounty hunters were asked to present identifying documents.  Am really against kyc because one of the reasons I joined crypto was the anonymity which it provides. But sadly that's gently creeping away.

Now this KYC has come into airdrops. Imagine am to submit my ID to some I don't know which planet he or she or they are from for some pennies worth tokens.

It's terrible and this is a bad precedence these people are setting.

If as a community we do not say no to this,  then it would become the norm.
It's a cheap way for companies to gather data from their users. You give up your personal information in exchange for cheap or worthless tokens and you do this at free will. In our opinion most Airdrops and Bounties should be avoided in general, but those which require KYC definitely should be skipped. Your personal information is worth a lot more than that !

I think it's really absurd that some ICO requires KYC also for airdrops.. and the risk to give your personal data to scammers is high if you partecipate in many airdrops... personally I won't do that.

I dont think its a good thing to collect sensitive personal data which is a legal one just to give away few free coins. We should also stay away from such airdrops. But If you participate in the bounty of the company then they may require documents. I dont see the point risking using my personal data for couple of bucks (tokens).

Usually, I will not participate in bounty activities or airdrops that require KYC verification. This should not actually happen. Just for some dispensable coins.

Well, for airdrops I would not pass kyc, the chance that someone will take possession of your documents is very great .

KYC is one aspect that is making airdrop and even bounty campaign becoming uninteresting. I thought we are talking about decentralization here in crypto world. I really dont understand the connection between "knowing your customer" on any platform that is supposed to work on an anonymous state. maybe we will get the reasons for it later as we advance to the next level.

I fully agree with the author of the topic. Okay, the bounty companies began to introduce identification, although I am against this.
To provide your own data in the airdrops is too much.
Sincerely yours.

KYC for a free token? This is really insane. As far as I know, KYC are only needed for an investment, for both security purposes. I also don't agree to those who are asking for it before bounty token distribution. What more in airdrops. While this is the easiest way how to earn token, if legit. I would never entrust any of my documents in exchange for a shot coins.

Yes, KYC for Airdrops can be risky. When we participate in an ICO doing proper research to the project and sending our documents won't be a risk. But most people don't do any research in the Airdrops they participate in and could be a big problem when our documents fall into the hands of scammers.

According to me There's no real use of asking for KYC with bounty users. To be honest, this is complete nonsense, as they are not the investors and their jurisdiction won't get involved when no money is traded
.Actually the problem is that we can not know who we are sending our personal data, so do not pass KYC, especially for the sake of airdrop companies.

To be honest, this is complete nonsense, because the KYC process was made exclusively for those people who invest money, that is, this process is necessary for the developer only to prove where they got the money from.
