~ It's like when Ronaldo  left from Real Madrid , but Madrid has proven that even without him they can win La Liga, what about Barcelona?
No, it is a bit different case! Ronaldo makes Real Madrid be stronger but he is not the soul of the team. Ronaldo was also not a captain team. While Messi, he is a captain and the soul of Barcelona team for years. Losing Messi on the team will instantly decrease the strength of the team as a whole because they have relied on Messi for years. Also, no Barcelona attackers with a big influence as big as Messi there.

It was kind of expected, they will have presidential elections soon. New presidents often came with huge promises and loads of money so I expect it to be the same this time.

It's reported that Messi cannot stand Bartomeu anymore and that they aren't even speaking to each other, a new president arriving might be enough for him to extend his deal.

Barcelona is probably lucky that no club bar Man City can attract Messi in the current situation, I'd gamble on him staying there.

It is not wise neither from Messi's side nor Man City's to reach a deal.
The best move that Messi can do is in a club in China or Argentina. There is no point in leaving Barcelona for another big club. He cannot stand the pace of those games anymore.

No sane coach will come to Barcelona while there is Messi. While there is a Messi no one can implement his own game scheme, he cannot buy the players he needs. Messi is a big problem for Barcelona at the moment. But even without Messi Barcelona cannot.
Barcelona has been dealing with many problems those last years related or not with Messi. He is a key player and games tactics mostly rely on him whether the coach likes it or not.
New coach will surely have dozen problems with Barca this year, cannot buy new players, have many old ones, conflicts between some of them...

Changing coach and some executive that had problem with Messi may will make him stay. But I don't think it can be happens. If they released 12 players and Messi refused to extend his contract next year, maybe Barca need a coach like Rijkaard who can build a strong team from limited player. Messi's contract will end June 2021, most player will extend his contract before mid season, it will shocked Barca fans if Messi really being a free transfer players.

~snip~ If Barcelona failed to renew the contract, then it is likely they will start letting Messi go next season rather than go with a free transfer.
I think the renewal contract will happen soon. Barcelona still needs a Messi. Just look at some matches without messi the results are not good. In addition, news that 12 Barcelona players are ready to be released by Barca, including Dembele and Philippe Coutinho will make Barca weak.  I think management might consider changing coaches because I see messi doesn't really respect the current coach and I think the coach's interpretation is also not very good. But if this happens Messi out from Barcelona  it will be a new era for Barcelona, for 15 years Messi has been a mainstay of Barcelona. It's like when Ronaldo  left from Real Madrid , but Madrid has proven that even without him they can win La Liga, what about Barcelona?

The story with Messi's contract every year develops according to the same scenario. And it ends the same way. No team in the world will buy Messi now. It's just that there is no money for him, and he does not need him. So it’s better to end his career in Barcelona.

Yeah, for Barca there is no rule saying - No player is above the club so they have drama all the time. To me this is absurdity, but that is how things are today. There is not many clubs left that can say this, even Man Utd lost this as soon as Sir Alex left and Pogba is creating chaos in his own whey there.

It seems that Barcelona lately can't live without drama and conflict  Grin
Barcelona president Bartomeu facing vote of no confidence proposal at Barcelona.
''Cor Blaugrana, a group of members of Barcelona, are preparing to put forward a vote of no confidence in president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
It seems that they already have near 5,000 signatures behind the movement.
Barcelona has huge problems this year due to bad results, bad atmosphere in the club, conflict in the club's management, coaches without authority, dissatisfied Messi etc.
I think the last chance for the club president is to stay at the head of the club if the club wins the European Champions League.
Otherwise, I think there is no chance for him to survive in that position with so much opposition.

I think its not about Messi versus others type of situation right now, its not really that much easy to fix. Just because you send Messi, a great player, you will not become a good team, that makes no sense at all, you are getting rid of your best player and you think that will make you better?
Note, player like Messi brings best out of playing mates, Messi is a coveted and peaceful player that exhibited a good strategy of team maker, if Messi out of the clubs meaning downfall of clubs and players, that's why his opted to remain in the club and signed a new contract of stay. Barcelona knew the important of the current ballon Di'or winner with distinctive calculations for brighter future of the club.

NO. I don't think this will happen, especially about how much Inter should pay to bring in a special player like Messi.
So far, Messi contract in Barcelona is still unclear. If the player still does not extend the contract, and still upset with the executive interfered Barcelona player transfers, it looks like this could happen. If Barcelona failed to renew the contract, then it is likely they will start letting Messi go next season rather than go with a free transfer.

Messi departure is still a big question mark. In my opinion, it seems like there aren't too many opportunities to leave. Not that I mean messi can't leave Barcelona. There are many reasons clubs cannot accept messi because prices are certainly very high. The club prefers younger players and can get 2-3 players at the same price as messi.

Could Barcelona soon have a big shock and the earthquake, the departure of Messi? ~
NO. I don't think this will happen, especially about how much Inter should pay to bring in a special player like Messi. Messi is like a Barcelona icon, yep he is the soul of Barcelona team for years. I am not sure Barcelona management will decide a worse thing by put Messi on the transfer list. It will risk the future team, reduce the popularity of Barca + instantly decreasing much on the team strength. In addition, we all know that Messi has indebted to Barcelona as it saved him from a rare disease when he was a kid. I assume it is also a big reason why he always stayed in Barcelona.

@EdenHazard I'm trying to quote you but the whole work is messed up. You can't judge any team by the few matches they played in after the break. A lot of these players had fears withing them, they had given up already. Let's assume Barcelona would be Aston Villa without Leo, Madrid felt the same impact of Ronaldo's absence in the first season, I'm glad they've restructured their team with the help of Zidane.
I go with the ideaologies of those who believe strongly in Barcelona's deform when Messi leaves; it's a bad thing to build your entire team on a single player. He has since been there for over 15 years bossing the whole team, let's see how things unfold for them in the coming match against Napoli.
Ahhha np, i got u.
Makes sense. I'm not judging directly.. i mean i just can see how the players mood getting worse and worse even messi himself who rarely celebrated the freekick goal in anger , cranky.
He seems knows the whole team are playing like shit and he can't see his beloved team playing like that in case he have to retired or leaving.
Anw the transfer exit saga of messi would be a beneficial for a lot of people , there will be a new business created during the process and of course the media will get mad!
I'd like to see that happen instead he retired there.

Messi’s transfer would be beneficial for a lot of people. even Messi can earn a lot of money. but I think it is a great honor for Messi to retire from Barcelona. because you know, Messi did not change clubs in his entire career. he started his career from Barcelona and will ended here. so, I think it's a lot more honorable. and the Barcelona club will honor Messi with a lifetime of respect.
We have many big names in this list in past but now there is nothing dignity for this as most of new generation players want more money so they change clubs very quickly I want Messi stay in Barcelona until end of his career because he is really legendary player and need to live with this honor hopefully he will announces about this in near future.

First of all Messi will not go to any other club, dude was basically born here (I know not literally but close) and has always been here and become who he is here as well. I do not see him change, the owner can change, the general manager can change, coach can change, but Messi will not, he is the core of Barcelona and won't move anywhere. If he is not happy with Barcelona, he will get rid of people who makes him sad instead of leaving.

But, let's assume he could be sent away like any regular player, dude will not require anything remote to 800 million or whatever, if you want to transfer him, offering 100-150 million will be more than enough. If I was Inter and I had that chance and money for it, I would do it, even if not for success which would come, but for the chance to finally break Juventus championship streak and also Messi versus Ronaldo is epic anyway.

I agree that Messi will not move from Barcelona, because for Messi Barcelona is his birthplace. Because Barcelona made Messi
as it is today, and there is no question about Messi's loyalty to Barcelona. I hope the owner, manager and coach of Barcelona
could change mind not to sell Messi to Inter.

since match between La Coruna and Fuenlabrada is postponed due to corona outbreak in Fuenlabrada team, all play-off matches in Segunda are postponed, and it will be interesting how the third team from Segunda will be choosen for next La liga season, they need four matches to play in play-off, and one more between La Coruna and Fuenlabrada before next La liga season, and there is no start date at the moment
Well, situation looks very complicated. I read that there is 28 confirmed cases in Fuenlabrada team, so it's not likely that they will be able to play soon. And main problem that there is not that much time left until new season and we still don't know last team playing in La Liga and who have to prepare for season in Segunda. And judging from articles in press, La Liga and football federation have no idea what decision they should make.

What needs to happen is that Barcelona needs money, and it needs money a lot, we are talking about 100+ million dollars, and that could only happen if they sell some of their players and none of their players worth that much, almost all of them are role players that fill a position.

So what can they do? They can forget about success for 2-3 years, play players like Ansu Fati type of players and they can grow to become a better player that way, they could get rid of all the players they are not playing at the bench and fill it with young players and give them a lot more chances. Not because they will use them in the future, if they are good they will use them but if not, they are going to have a lot of money saved and they can buy any player they want.
