Today I came across a very interesting article on the Croatian online portal. https://www.index.hr/sport/clanak/real-treba-100-milijuna-eura-kako-bi-zavladao-svijetom-modric-je-dio-plana/2175957.aspx
Here is summary:
Real needs €100m to dominate the world.
Real wants to create the best attack in the world in the next 2 years.
First, they'll bring in Erling Haland this summer and for him Real he must pay "only" 75 million euro thanks to a specific clause in the contract.
The next goal is Eduard Camavingu, a miracle child from Rennes.
Next year's main target is Kylian Mbappé, the natural successor to Cristiano Ronaldo.
To bring in two of the best strikers in the world and become untouchable again, Real want to use their three big trumps: the fact that they are the most attractive club in the world, then the fact that the global crisis significantly reduces  the cost of player compensation and also an oversized pool of own players.
Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Luka Jovic, Lucas Vazquez, Mariano Diaz and Luka Modric, all these players go on sale to raise 100 million euros to buy other players.
Real will again become the ruler of European football.

I don't think it's worth to pay much attention to such articles these days. There is football in action, but media still have to fill their websites somehow and attract readers. I don't think it's possible that Haland would move to Real this year, after being bought by Borussia this winter. I don't follow French league, so I don't know Camavingu, but I believe he is talented. But there is always risk to buy teenagers. Just look at Joao Felix - he was star in Benfica, but he haven't show anything impressive in Atletico.

Let's not overreact with those player names and think that it will make them the European champions once again right off the bat. Even if they somehow manage to get Haaland, Mbappe and Camavingu, that doesn't mean they will be suddenly an amazing team that is unstoppable. Sure that is a good team but that team is not suddenly better than everyone else all of a sudden, it is just a "quarter finals guaranteed" team if they do meet any other super teams and thats it.

I would say in a game between Madrid without bale+modric and others you listed that will be sold, and adding haaland+mbappe+camavingu versus the current Liverpool team, I would say I would still give Liverpool a bigger chance because they have been playing together longer and have a system in place.

Marca, Friday (17/4), RFEF Delegation Commission considered all possible situations related to European competition for next season. RFEF gives priority to teams that are in the Champions League qualification zone when the competition is stopped in Spain.
Mean, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Sevilla, and Real Sociedad will qualify for the highest caste competition between European clubs because they are in the top four. While Atletico Madrid and Getafe must be eliminated and qualify for the Europa League.

ATM must bury their dreams of competing in the Champions League next season if the RFEF proposal is approved..  ATM did not have the chance to catch up in the standings because all the Spanish league matches stopped, hopefully, ATM supporters will not be sad..

@Chrystora123 this news will break the heart of many Athletico Madrid fans, and I personally feel that their presence will be missed in the champions league if this decision is approved. However there’s something to cheer for Atletico Madrid fans too, as this is not the official decision and this decision may not even be approved.

Well, they still can get spot in UCL, they just need to win Champions league. IIRC, winner of Champions league get spot in next year tournament.
Such scenario would be bad for Getafe too. They would finnish 5th, despite that they have same number of points as Real Sociedad, who are 4th now.
But I think it's just theorical scenario. Ending season in current phase is just worst case scenario, they are just going to resume season when it will be safe to do it.

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) proposed on Thursday that La Liga's current standings decide which teams qualify for European competitions if the season has to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

La Liga and UEFA have not given their approval to the plan, with both governing bodies insisting they are still focused on finding a way to ensure domestic seasons are completed.

Guys, some of accepted joke about playing with facemasks too seriously Cheesy.
If leagues allow and players will go to stadiums and finish matches with PPEs, that will look very similar to science-fiction movies. I can't imagine how it looks like and sure I hope that the world will fall into such bad situation. Because if such playing style appears, it means the world has to adapt to live with the virus, forever or in a very long future, that is not good, definitely.
Quote
We aren't talking about starting leagues after few weeks. But it's possible to expect that it will be safe enough to play in June or July without spectators. Life will return to normal sooner or later. I doubt that they are going to keep quarantine for half year or longer. It's just impossible to keep everything closed and stopped and wait year until vaccine will be found.
Nations, Italy, Spain, France and even the US (where is the most severe nation in the pandemic) have all talked, discussed and planned for step-by-step to reopen economy. All steps will depend on the pace of pandemic fighting success.

Spain already allowed some factories to start working again, because they simply can't wait until it will be 100% safe. I don't see reasons why football can't be played later this year.
And when you talk about +100m transfers, you forget that there isn't just Barca and Real in football. There is lot of small clubs without huge budget and this crisis hit them hard.
I know that news. In Germany, they discussed about the wise-social distancing that will allow people back to work but still keep practicing social distancing. The elderly group will be separately quarrantined/ protected from the more infectious risky groups (younger groups), and some other proposal solutions to practice wiser-social-distancing.

Guys, some of accepted joke about playing with facemasks too seriously Cheesy.

Spain is literally the second biggest nation in the world for the infected number, second biggest! I do not think we could talk about games starting back up soon. Daily new cases number seems to be on the decline for a while now looking at the charts from the peak of over 700 to now under 500 finally, so we could say death numbers are dropping as well. Which means country will probably get better in the near future but we don't know how long it will take for that to happen.

All in all I say we should just cut all hope from all big leagues around the world and just hope that leagues do not force players to play again this year. Just let it go for the remainder of this season, what is worst that could happen? Teams may lose few billions, bohoo for them because lets be honest these teams spends hundreds of millions of dollars every single year, they may just live to a budget for the next 5 years and not spend 100+ million on transfers for a while and get back on being awesome again, doesn't that worth the safety of every player and staff? Just a few years of living within a budget and you save god knows how many lives, I say it definitely worths it.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
No way that is for not for players! Is it? I mean you are basically telling players it is risky to go outside without masks and it is risky to play football without masks and they should be wearing this "stylish" masks while playing because otherwise they could get covid and you are still expecting them to go out and play?

This is basically forcing by the owners so they could make more money. They are telling players that because of corona and because of the break they are giving right now, they can't give them 100% of their money and there should be a cut to their contracts in order to pay for every other staff, while also telling them that they have to play if they want to get their money. What are the players gonna say? No? There is no way they would say no to millions of dollars but that is a sticky situation if you ask me.
It is impossible and there is no history of the player having to use a mask in football because it will aggravate the players so that they will run out of breath, I think this is only speculated by a few people so that the word mask becomes interesting discussion and therefore I say it will not be possible .

The club has thought of everything for the players so that they will save from covid-19, the match schedule is also still no verdict so don't worry for the players not to wear masks.

Basically, the player is the main thing that must be saved and therefore there is no need to think about money at a time like this it will be more difficult if it continues to be debated.

^  You can wear an N95 and wear the La Liga mask over it.  That's what I do, wear N95 with a home made mask.  You get to use the N95 multiple times.  You still gotta put plastic wrap or cling wrap and seal the outside part of the mask if being stored tho.  Just to be safe.

Yup...  Awesome masks.
I think what @buwaytress was trying to imply is how will the players breathe well when wearing any form of mask. I mean football is a sport that requires excess breathing and having masks on will make things so hard for the players.

I have worn masks in the past while working in a pharmaceutical Industry and trust me, despite just not doing any strenuous work in the lab, breathing in and out is not comfortable. Now imagine someone running while wearing it.

Wait...  That's for the players?  They're better off not playing if the clubs really don't want them to get sick imo.  I thought the masks were a gimmick for the fans to have during the outbreak.  Lol.
The what? Playing with a mask is delusional and madness. Apart from being uncomfortable while running, hard to breathe with in intense conditions, there is a huge risk of injuries related directly to it in the eyes and ears essentially.
Although this isn't a big problem in football but wearing it with glasses sucks too...
So yeah it is for the fans and not for players, no doctor will allow his players to play with imo!!

The fact that he is too young isn't an excuse for him.
He got a huge opportunity to prove himself in one of the biggest clubs in the world. If you are a valuable player you reach top performance even from your young age - just see Messi what did from the age of 19.

I don't know why people like you are so hard up on guys like him. Give him a break, he's a teenager. And no one should compare people to Messi or whoever we don't know their lives.

Not any hate about him... My opinion stands to the fact that Barcelona spent 120m for him.
The amount of money that it is spent doesn't reflect any excuses "Give him time" or "He is a teenager".
I think that the Barcelona board expects from him to deliver as well.

When you pay something 120 million euros it is quite normal to expect a return on that investment, a certain concrete result and at least minimally you expect to see a certain effort, will and seriousness.
What should Barcelona do? They don't have time to "raise" players but expect those who can fit into their concept and help achieve a certain goal and vision.
If Dembele can't do that, he's obviously overpaid and in the wrong Club. Period.

These masks looks nice, but probably it's just a joke what @cygan posted. I can't imagine football players playing with masks. First, these masks would become wet very soon, probably they would have to change it every 5-10 minutes. And wearing face masks on football game would be pointless thing because it won't protect players. Football is not contactless sport...
I think it will interfere with their breathing when playing with masks. I don't think this will be applied in international football.
Still a mask is only needed for people walking out there but when playing football has started then I think the game will be closed and limited in a few people in it.

Looks very awesome sport face-masks. Are they available on any stores yet? Or have they only been design mode?
I see the price of cloth-face coverings (not face-masks) on Horizen's store, you can take a look at it there: https://store.horizen.global/product-tag/masks/ and build up cooperations with them if you want.  Cheesy

...Maybe he is a good player to play on a mediocre team. not a player to play on a top club.
He has the talent obviously, the only thing lacking is the mentality.

No player is made for a mediocre team, there are a couple of reasons why a player can fail to adapt at a new club; the change in environment and inability to fit into the teams playing style could be one. On this note I would put some of the blame on the manager. Under Valverde, majority of Barcelona players dropped form or remained stagnant, only Ter Stergen, Ansu Fati, and Vidal (from his time in Bayern Munich) really improved in their respective positions.

After he is given more time with Setien, it can then be decided if he has a future with the club or needs to look elsewhere.
