If you are like me who doesn't go outside the house more often and always staying inside the house most of the time then online casinos will be a perfect fit for you Cheesy.

On the other side if you really want to socialize with other people and maybe an extrovert then Physical casinos will fit you. For me, the only difference between the 2 is the environment only which is quite obvious already. I didn't tried physical casinos yet since there is no near one in my place so online casinos really help me to gamble in different sports events even I'm at my house only.

I rarely go to the casino alone. We usually do this with our friends. So much fun. It's fun to compete who will win more money starting with the same amount of bets. You can't get such feelings in an online casino.

What you shared is a big figure, "$14.4 million a day" is a huge amount of money, we can just imagine also how much is the government are losing in a daily basis since that amount also has a tax due.

nevada was losing $2 million a day year over year in taxes during the lockdown. at 50% capacity, i assume they are still losing close to half that. local governments are expecting a 20-40% drop in tax revenue as well.

people are at least visiting the city and gambling, but it's hard to be that optimistic about this situation. even at 50% capacity---where i'm sure the city and state are still struggling financially---the coronavirus is spreading faster in nevada than any other state in the counrtry: https://www.rgj.com/story/news/2020/06/29/coronavirus-nevada-covid-19-updates/3278534001/

i can't help but think this situation is temporary and more restrictions/closures are coming.

Does it also mean that they have reduce their manpower to 50%?

Casinos not making their expectation anymore, it should result to reducing employees otherwise they'll operate at a loss, so if it's happening then probably a lot of jobless people in that state due to this, and though we can say some are thankful that the casino resume operation but others are also affected since it cannot employ its usual numbers and these unemployed people could be a burden to the government as government has to provide support to them.

how many clients did they lose actually due to the pandemic?

the reopening has gone much better than expected, with many more tourists and gamblers coming out than anticipated: https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/las-vegas-is-back-coronavirus/index.html

but right off the bat, they are losing at least 50% because vegas is limiting them to 50% capacity. i really don't know how profitable these operations are under those conditions.

during the lockdown, the big casino companies were losing as much as $14.4 million a day. Shocked

Quote
Las Vegas-based Boyd Gaming Corp. is burning about $3.2 million daily during the shutdown and would run out of cash in about 9.4 months at that rate, according to the report. MGM Resorts International is burning $14.4 million daily and would run out in nine months. Penn National is burning $6.4 million daily and has 5.2 months before it runs out. Red Rock Resorts is burning $1.7 million daily and has 13.8 months; Golden Entertainment is burning $1 million daily and has 10.4 months.

https://www.reviewjournal.com/business/casinos-gaming/las-vegas-casino-companies-burning-up-to-14-4m-a-day-report-finds-1989791/

They are losing even more as during this time, they can't expect to get their average, so the revenue would already reduce and more since they limit only 50% of the capacity.. Gamblers over 60 should just have fun doing it online.

At that age, I think only few of the gamblers are doing online, most old age gamblers are doing old school gambling, they hate computer to use in gambling, lol.. Maybe it's time for them to learn now? but no,.. I think they would not be interested anymore, they really want to do the way they used to.
people over 60 will have difficulty adjusting to online gambling...
You are right that people over the age of 60 are very difficult to teach to play computer, I say this because the majority of the elderly in my neighborhood who I know really hate computers and even difficult to open an android smartphone.  (≧y≦*)

Correct usage would be to wear glasses with the mask, not breathing in the virus but having it exposed to the eyes is going to result in an infection.

LOL, face with glasses and  mask at the poker table in Las Vegas casino, can not imagine that

Would it help guy to win? Being such equipped he will remain  impermeable not only  to  virus but to glances of the  opponents gambling on cards

The phrase poker face picks up a whole new meaning

60 years old and above or those who we can consider senior citizens should not be allow to go to gambling sites and play, the gambling casinos should not allow that, they have no choice but to play at home, old guys who have been playing in casinos for a long time will badly miss playing but they have no choice but to follow the protocols

Well, it is not just about 60-year-olds

People with chronic illnesses can fall prey to the virus as easily. Realistically, we don't know beforehand how any single individual is going to respond to the infection and whether he will pull through at all. 100 years ago the Spanish flu had been killing the healthy young people, which would be unfathomable if we didn't know that it was not the flu that was killing them (their own strong immune system had been the culprit)

Some probably don't want to stay at home and just gamble with computers but some also want to be chilling while at home as they gamble. For those that are not yet adopting online gambling, they have no choice but to start adopting it.
It's for their good as well so that they don't have to go outside.

True, there are gamblers who are willing to break the law or risk themselves just to gamble in their usual ways.
Actually, online gambling is only very popular in progressive countries, in poor or 3rd world countries, only few people are really doing online gambling, maybe one reason is most of them are not computer literate?

That is the same here in our country.

As far as I know, those old people, 60 and above are more vulnerable in this pandemic which is why they need to stay in their houses. I don't know about those people aged below 18. I think that is normal when it comes to lockdowns or maybe when it is curfew. There are cases there too of COVID in below 18 years of age and they are just so pitiful. Just imagine a 10-year-old being quarantined. Gamblers over 60 should just have fun doing it online.

Not many of the gamblers in their 60s and 70s are comfortable with the idea of online gambling. On top of that, gambling for them is an avenue for socializing. There will be no socializing if they do gambling online. I have said this previously... the clients for physical gambling differs a lot from those who indulge in online gambling. And this is the case in all the countries.

It is their decision though.

For me, those people over 60s should really stay at their homes. It is not advisable for them to go outside if they want something maybe they could use an application to let them buy that for them. If they really wanted to gamble, I think they should be also adapt from the situation and try online gambling. I know that it has no socializing at all or maybe boring for them but it is for their safety.

Going to physical casino isn't the only way to socialize though. There are lots of things to do to satisfy your socializing needs, not just casino.  Its online gambling that is much preferred in this situation and people are just using zoom and facetime to chat as a means to socialize. Its already adopted by millions. Gamblers from traditional casinos might as well get used to it.

Humans though are social being, we are inherently wanted to go and be in a groups. However, I do agree that physical casino is not the best options for us right now because of the pandemic. And Las Vegas are simply opening because they need to make money as casinos are reportedly losing as high as 10% because of the lockdown. It's not just because people wanted to socialised in a casino, but gamblers need to play (win or lose) to keep casino going.

We can only hope that the vaccine will pass the tests successfully. The world needs a coronavirus vaccine. And I really hope that we will get it in the autumn.
COVID-19 vaccine is still a hot topic to be discussed..  I am optimistic that the vaccine will be found, but for the time being, we all cannot be sure. before the vaccine is really found and spread, we must protect our families against this virus infection.  at this time the US is still the country with the worst COVID-19 patients. Hopefully, with the reopening of casinos in Las Vegas, it doesn't make things worse..

It is still risky for them to open the casinos. Unlike other countries, we all know how people gather in Vegas and how it can be so risky in these times. Cases are still adding up and even though they follow the new normal, they would go out and might be contaminated by the virus outside the casino. It is still better to bet or wage online.

I don't often play in casinos. I do it for fun. For me, playing in an online casino and being in a real casino room are completely different things. Online casinos don't have the same festive atmosphere. I've only been to local casinos, which don't even make sense to compare to Las Vegas casinos.
Anyone who likes emotions in Las Vegas is unlikely to be able to get the same emotions in an online casino.

People in that age range are exactly the people who should avoid in person in doors possible close contact activity like gambling, online would be really ideal to make an effort with at present.    Cant get a bigger payoff then staying alive really.
What they really need is a uncluttered design, just simple options stream lined for specific games perhaps.    Theres definitely a range of games possible but its mostly familiarity and how awkward it is to get the bet going.

Changes can really be felt but we dont have any options left but to deal with is since we dont have any options to take since this is the new normal now.

which means betting online will be the normal now and yeah is awkward but sooner or later you would really get used to it and it is way more better rather than

forcing yourself to go into these physical places just because you do really need to gamble. As long vaccine doesnt exist i wouldnt still play into these places

since we know the risk on how you get infected.
