Undecided To be honest, this new reality is somewhat depressing. If this continues for a long time, we will see many associated problems such as increased levels of mental disorders / suicide, etc.
The city in which I live is now the peak of the holiday season and there are practically no problems associated with the virus, but I'm afraid to imagine what awaits us again in the fall.
The consequences of this virus are going to be with us for a very long time, for example think of all the kids that are now taking online classes instead of going to school, their level of socialization will be lower and most likely they are not going to learn as much as they did when they went to class so I will not be surprised if we see a drop in the literacy rate and IQ in the current generation that is just starting school and are taking online classes.

Nah man, this pandemic should be over by next year, our government does not say that it's gonna last for awhile, so as we have the vaccine, the economy will recover and everything will be back to normal. It's just that now we need to survive, so the economy is open despite of the threat of the virus.

I have kids too, they have more online activity now but from time to time I also allow them to go outside to play and stretch that tiny bones and muscles.
This wont last forever and once vaccine is already available then we would really ease up our mind and not to worry anymore and in talks of economic aspect then we would really be surely recover.
Of course we have seen the impact in all industries from small to big and how people do adapt the new normal which is really somewhat kind of hassle thing but we dont have any choice but to
deal with it for now.Yes, theres no definite time for this on when it would be over but we are hoping and expecting for that thing to happen. For business out there, here in my country where
almost establishments is already open, local government do already allowed on such opening yet it cant really stand further more if they wont able to do so.

It was in my country that football (socker) tournaments were held. All because our President did not declare a quarantine. Now we can say that the percentage of cases in our country was no more than in neighboring countries that were closed for quarantine. We also continued to operate all entertainment establishments, including casinos. Most people of course did not visit them, but there were also those who risked not only money but also their health. After some time, many establishments then closed due to a lack of visitors.

I guess you are from Belarus. The president (Alexander Lukashenko) refused to declare quarantine and he even allowed the Belarusian Premier League to conduct the matches as per the schedule. Initially there was a big spike in Belarus. But the situation soon got under control there. Now they have very few cases. For example, yesterday Belarus had a total of 121 new cases. Now compare this to 1,112 for Ukraine, and 5,427 for Russia.

We do not need to be compared with Ukraine or Russia. We have a population of about 9 million people, which is four times less than in Ukraine. Therefore, there are much fewer cases of coronavirus.

But then again, how did other countries free theirselves from the virus without vaccine? This is how great their leader is and how great the people are following orders from them. It is for the sake of their country amd theirselves. Thay is why they can watch soccer tournaments there now like nothing happened.

Maybe you are right, and that could explain why the USA currently has the highest rate of covid-19 cases.
And yet they still open the business, so this also means that lock down is not the solution, economy is the priority, next is health, as it's the way the survive.
All must be balanced and if not then destruction will come soon and that is a crisis. Business must be run and health protocol must also be applied. An entire country may not be able to bear the economic burden of the people for an indefinite period of time and provide a little space for economic actors is the best way to prevent a crisis.

Its just that everyone has to comply with established health protocol because transmission will be lacking. I am sure Covid-19 will end soon and we will have greater hopes if the vaccine has been disseminated.

I'm sure that's what the government is doing, they want to balance but it's just that the cases of covid-19 is still rising.
Some people are not even educated about the covid-19, they think there's no cure on it but there is actually as there are people who recovered, but the risk to high is high for those who aren't healthy, so these weak people should be our concern that's why it's necessary to have the vaccine.

Anyways, vegas is still in business but not the usual.

From what I heard in mainstream media in our end, vaccines are now on its "third" stage of development, whatever that means. And our government are saying that they will plan to have a vaccine be distributed to the poor by December of this year and then to the middle class. I am not really into the technicalities of the people behind working a vaccine but what I see is that there might still be a small glimmer of hope that by next year cities will be slowly be prepared and its citizens vaccinated. This is a long battle still. It's up to the gamblers to decide if they want to gamble at the risk of getting the virus.

We can talk about vaccines for a long time. We are promised that they are about to appear. If this is the case, it may be worth waiting until each of us can get vaccinated and then visit the casino. Visiting Las Vegas is not the first necessity and I would not go there now.

But there are a lot of people thinking differently than you. It is not just casinos but also bars and I think we can't really stop them so we should be used to it by now. Vaccine might be the main solution for this pabdemic but let's be honest, we can still take care of ourselves without it.

There is no solution to the pandemic other than the vaccine. No matter how much careful you're in meeting people , wearing gloves and mask, you can still get this covid-19 if you move around outside in public.
There are only two solutions to this, either stay at home or wait for the time until vaccine is developed.

Yah, stay at home until the vaccine is developed. Only problem is that is really easy to say than doing it if we look on how many governments around the world respond to the pandemic. If you tell people not to go out then we have another problem, how will these people be able to survive while inside the home? If we talk about the rich, then theres stockloads of supplies that would last a few months perhaps. The middle class, depends on how well the middle class person was able to save money. Lower middle class and the poor and those who work to survive won't be able to earn so they will ask government for assistance. Government helps then good, if not then the people might protest. Another problem facing this is that the economy will be stagnant and will not be able to contribute to taxes etc. Which in turn will hamper governments effort to get the needed money to help the people.

If the government chose the other scenario, which is to open the economy and have people carefully go back to work and observe protocols, then we get a different scenario. Not everybody is disciplined enough to follow the protocols strictly. One way or another another person will get infected and will pass over to many people along the line. Which in a few weeks would become a nightmare if it continued unchallenged. The medical establishment will have a hard time and people will also complain to government in the long run because of inaction.

Goverments around the world are doing this delicate dance of balancing one factor to the other, otherwise things will get worse.

Is it proven that it is more difficult to spread in hot environments ? I read that humidity plays a big role, but temperature was not a significant factor.

I had posted this before. The COVID virus is present in micro-droplets, which are released when a person sneezes or coughs. These microdroplets remain more active in temperate climate, while they get quickly evaporated in more warmer regions. That doesn't mean that those living in warm regions can't get the infection from air. It just means that the chances are lower when compared to the colder regions.

Now this is our own responsibility to take care of ourself against this pandemic situation. Everything is now getting unlocked as government cannot continue to keep it locked till months due to the economic pressure and the employment. Thus, now everyone must maintain them self with some distance and move out only for the immediate works or some businesses related. Res of the things if can be avoided better it would be for ourself.

This really depends on the people now. These bars and casinos are opened not for them to openly go to it without taking care but for the country to recover its declining economy. Discipline not just in gambling is needed here though we can't really stop them gambling in these places since usually it is the part of their lives.

Aside from the scientists that are working the cure in the US, there are some vaccines that have been created by other countries. Its a rat race where the first to create the virus will be the winner Cheesy.

I like though the move of the government that they will distribute the vaccine to the poorest people followed by the middle ones. We know already that the poor are the ones who are suffering the most right now although we all really are suffering. December is the target date for the cure to be done and with the progress of these scientists, I think that this deadline will be meet. The average time frame for a new antivirus for a new virus strain to be created is 12-18 months but with our technology right now, this maybe shortened.

With regards to the gamblers especially in the US, people are stubborn there to be honest. People are going outside without any masks for some reasons. It will depend on the gamblers like you said if they will risk their lives and still gamble in casinos. If I'm in their situation, I'd better gamble online than going to a casino.

What is your current climate? It is hot enough in my region, and despite the almost complete absence of soial distancing and, in fact, living by the old rules, I do not see an increase in the number of cases. But unfortunately, I understand that when autumn comes, the situation will radically change, since we regularly have a flu epidemic at this time. Expect Covid-19 to do well during this time.

Complete absence of social distancing? Should I say lucky for you? I think it is hard to implement if the government is not very strict about the punishments when someone failed to comply the rules. Only when the situation got worse will they be strict. But for you and other's sake, I think it is best to follow safety protocols even if no one is asking you to.

I agree with you, but in my city the situation now looks like this:

I live in a resort town and despite the pandemic this year is not very different from the previous ones, there are many visitors. I try to take precautions, but they are ineffective when most people do not follow them.

Is it proven that it is more difficult to spread in hot environments ? I read that humidity plays a big role, but temperature was not a significant factor.

Yes, I heard about it too, but maybe the fact is that in a humid cool climate people have worse resistance than in a hot one.

You have to be ready, a few months ago, our country decided to open businesses once again. And now we are facing almost 4k new cases per day, we didn't even flatten the curve when our country decided to open up again because of the economy. We are just getting 800-1k cases per day by then, but now, we are reaching 4k cases per day. We can't even call it a second wave cause we are not done with the first wave yet. I hope someone can really help us, its kind of frustrating complying to everything but nothing really happens.

And yup, we are definitely learning to live just like this, but we are still hoping cases will slow down. You are right with the other problems too, unemployment, business closing down, depressions, hunger, death, medical practitioners dying, and etc.
