You might want to think about limiting the number of coins on a per-household basis.

Right now I am playing this by ear.

If someone wants to buy a large chunk 125-200 or more at once I will likely charge them a higher price for a large locked-in price. But so far i've only gotten offers up to 10 coins per user.

You have a point. It is essentially a balance because this first batch, as I said in my OP, was to gauge the interest of the community. If I dont sell any...no problem.  Smiley

Wait, wat? I'd expect a larger bulk order to have a slightly discounted price.

Obviously with a limited run of first batch he is trying to spread the coins so as to engage the community and build interest etc. selling a ton of them is stupid to begin with and I for one think its perfectly reasonable that "Big money" be 'punished' for obviously just trying to buy up supply for a profit.

Yes. This first batch as much as I would like to say is indeed without error, there is an error in the coin structure. This was not intentional and in fact I tried to remedy the problem with the mint which turned out not to be possible. The error is that the back of the coin (flat-side) does not have a small impression for the private key to reside resulting in the paper being put flat on the back of the coin and the hologram over it. The private keys will be secure but you will also notice that the hologram will have a circle imprint where the private key circle is when holding the coin at an angle to light. All  subsequent batches of coins will have the private key impression on the back of the silver coin.

so what?  this will just make them more valuable in the long run.  you should charge more  Wink  i inadvertently bought some of the original "casacius" coins with the missing "s".  that just drove up the current price above and beyond the "correct" ones".  Cheesy

i can vouch for these smoothie coins.  i know a lot of thought went into them and i think they are beautifully designed and we're getting a chance to see that Master Trolls actually can have talent and also be honest.  Wink

i know i'd buy a bunch if i were into LTC, that's for sure.

Who woulda thunk?  Grin Grin Grin

I bet you made off well with the error coins from Casascius' first batch.

I know i dont have to buy it. But its good to alert people they are paying way too much for silver if thats what they are looking for.

Guys, I just realized, we're being ripped off...

A few years ago, I bought a Toyota that weighed about 1 tonne. I paid around $15,000 for it. However, I've now come to realize it is made mostly from steel and steel trades at around $700/tonne! Luckily, I managed to sell it before the world realized this massive overpricing from Toyota.

I know I don't have to buy a car, but it's good to alert people they are paying way to much for steel if that's what they are looking for.

I want to preorder two so hard! I guess ill have to wait until the sale thread is posted!

A household limit might be good to prevent someone from screwing everyone else and ordering half of the batch outright.

Awesome work smoothie.

Thanks. Keep a keen eye on this forum/thread for the launch announcement.

reseller pricing?

Thanks man.

Are you inquiring on bulk purchasing? If so, please PM me your offer and quantity so we can discuss.

Please note the discussion above with Tomatocage on this topic. I am open to offers but I can't simply sell the whole batch or even a good size chunk of the batch for the same price as smaller orders. Essentially it comes down to a supply cornering. I'm open to hearing offers if anyone wants to make them. I am also keeping an open mind to the limiting per "household" idea.

I want to get one and frame it. I will put a digital display mounted above it which will track the price of LTC and silver and give the live value of the coin in USD

That way when the coin is worth over $100 my girlfirend will stop saying crypto is not real money

I have got to see a picture of this when you do it! EPIC! JUST EPIC!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I've got all the necessary parts..... except my physcial litecoin of course.

You can rest assured I will update when it's complete Smiley I may get it ready before purchase

Please do. This is something of a new concept I never thought of. Litecoin can be the first to have this display created for it. Good on you for being original!

As to the household limit. It may be a good idea at least for the first portion of sales. If demand is lower than you anticipated you could always remove it

Hmm Tomatocage your household limit may be the way to go. I'm open to hearing people's opinions on this. This is new for me so I am trying to be as open as possible to how things unfold.

Once again, this batch is just a community interest gauge.  Smiley

1. First batch with error = less in circulation as I add to supply over time.

2. They essentially will have a corner on the market if they say bought like 800 all at once. And there are people out there with DEEP POCKETS that could buy all 1000 in one go.

Hence the price hike to deter very large orders. But I wont turn anyone away who wants to buy big chunk at a higher price.

Ah, gotcha. I might be down for 100 @ 25 LTC.

Smiley
