It looks like Mazzarri knows Napoli very well like it was predicted, as he has history with Napoli. They have a talented squad with a lot of attacking potential. If the Napoli players can quickly adapt to Mazzarri's new system and play together as a unit, they could be a force in Europe. For this goal to achieve, The club owner and board should be ambitious with their plan and investment.

Current Napoli is different to Napoli were managed by Mazzarri  before. Now Napoli is a holding Champion who has mentality to compete at the highest level. Mazzarri as an experienced manager who has a proven track records wont have big difficulties to guide Napoli with big project in the future.

That`s exactly the hope, that`s why they called Walter Mazzarri.
The Napoli management hopes that the team and players adapt quickly to Mazzarri`s game in order to contain the damage done by the previous coach. And seems works.

we have discussed it a lot in the last week and yesterday we finally got to witness the new Napoli led by Walter Mazzarri who managed to win in a very demanding match by beating Atalanta 1-2 in Bergamo. I didn't see the whole match but from the glimpses of the match I saw a Napoli who were well concentrated and focused on seeking victory even though the match was very balanced for a long time. I hope to return to see a strong and successful Napoli with Mazzarri
Hopefully, as you said, Napoli will return to its best performance like last season with its current new manager. The match against Atalanta cannot be taken lightly because Atalanta is in sixth place in the points table, however, in the last two matches, Atalanta has had bad results, namely got a draw and a defeat so Atalanta was not in good condition, so Napoli was lucky to be able to take advantage of the situation.

I am happy that Napoli has found a suitable coach at this time so that Napoli does not experience a continuous downturn and the decision to fire Rudi Garcia is the right decision. Napoli really did not make a mistake in appointing a coach even though the situation was urgent and had to be done immediately.

I don't want to say too much but if the Napoli players immediately become familiar with the module proposed by Mazzarri we could see a great Napoli that can fight against everyone, of course the calendar has not been friendly at all with Mazzarri who must immediately compete with Atalanta Real Madrid Juventus and Inter. We will see in the next Champions League match whether this Napoli can fight against everyone or yesterday's match was just a coincidence

I don't question Walter Mazzarri's experience, in fact I know very well that he is an excellent coach, my doubt lies in the mentality of the team, will they be able to get out of this unfortunate period and settle into the module proposed by Mazzarri? or was the victory against Atalanta just a lucky coincidence? I want to hope and believe that Napoli with Mazzarri can return to winning ways and fight for a place in the Champions League, and despite this with the 1-1 draw between Juventus and Inter they managed to shorten the distance from first place to 8 points, which are not few but not many either and could also be part of playing for the championship victory

I don't give Napoli a very much chance to win a back-to-back Serie A title either. Their start to the season ruined the plans for now. Because Inter and Juventus both are doing an amazing work these days. They are like copying Napoli's previous season now. We aren't even in the middle of the season though but this still looks very promising for them.

Even one of them drops from the championship race I don't think the other one would do the same. And as for which side to drop first in such case, I would say Juventus.

Because Inter look more reliable from the system they play accordingly and because of how much productive they are now too.

For me too their season is now ruined, I absolutely agree with you on this.
Now the only thing they can do is contain the damage done by the previous coach who unfortunately wasnt up to par.
These are mistakes that are made and that happen.

at least they can try to stay inside the cup area!

Atalanta is not team that can be taken lightly and it turns out that Napoli managed to beat them with score of 1 - 2, which is pretty good start for Mazzarri because he can lead Napoli to beat tick like Atalanta.
But in the future, Napoli will face three difficult matches and this will put pressure on Mazzarri to be able to bring Napoli to maximum results.
Real Madrid will be difficult match for Napoli in the UCL and when Mazzarri is able to make Napoli have good game to at least match Real Madrid then I will really applaud his performance.
Then the next two matches are against Inter and Juventus, these are two strong teams in Serie A and the chance for Napoli to win this match is quite small.

In these three matches if Napoli can show their performance as well as possible and are able to match the three team, then there is great hope for Mazzarri in the future, which everyone hopes can bring big changes to the Napoli squad.
Mazzarri will also get an advantage because he has big chance of having his contract extended.

In my opinion, Napoli's decision to fire Rudi Garcia was so quick and sudden as a result of Napoli facing defeat against Empoli. Indeed, Napoli felt humiliated by this because they could not face a club that was said to be very weak, indeed no one knows because sometimes in football there are always surprises. Weak clubs can give surprises when facing strong clubs like Empoli did
........
But yes, I respect Napoli's decision. I hope this decision can make Napoli feel better and Mazzari can prove to Napoli that he is a suitable coach for Napoli at this time.
Many people have thoughts like this and maybe it's true like this. The proof is that up until his dismissal, Garcia was still unable to make good use of his opportunity to manage the squad better. So, it may be true that Napoli were still in a rush to take Garcia, especially since Garcia's previous track record was not suitable for Serie A. However, all that has already happened and Napoli's current step is to take Mazzarri back in the hope that conditions will be different. .And let's hope they get Mazzari right this time.

Anyway, the match between Atalanta and Napoli is their match. So we might know how Mazzarri will take Napoli in the future. At least, this time Mazzarri has to do his best because after all, Atalanta is a strong team and is not easy to beat. This will be a truly challenging match for Mazzarri at the start of his debut with Napoli.

you're right friend, on Saturday we'll see how Napoli starts to behave with Mazzarri at the helm of the team. Unfortunately for him it starts with a very challenging and important clash in Bergamo against Atalanta, where he shows up for the match still without Osimhen. I believe that many are waiting for the return of Serie A to see this very important match for both teams

It will be a difficult and demanding match, whatever the result (such as Napoli winning) it is always too early to judge Walter Mazzarri's work.
I don't mind him as a coach, he's not bad, he does his homework.

difficult and demanding are the right terms, I sincerely hope that Napoli win, maybe they gain a bit of morale and go back to fighting to win Serie A, and also because I really dislike Gasperini and he seems like a very domineering man

It's not easy to catch up on the points that Napoli are going through at the moment because Napoli has lost a lot of points, but it seems like slowly Napoli can still catch up with the remaining matches in Serie A because Napoli still has to face 25 matches if Napoli can maintain its consistency and continue creating a victory Napoli can win the title like last season.

If Mazzari can bring Napoli to become champions, I admit that Mazzari is a suitable coach for Napoli and Napoli is not wrong in appointing Mazzari as manager to replace Rudi Garcia. Currently we cannot see Mazzari's performance as a whole, but we can see Napoli when they face Atalanta can win this match easily because these two clubs only have a small difference in points, which means that Napoli and Atalanta have almost the same performance.

Honestly, I really dont think Napoli can win the scudetto, I find it really unlikely, so I dont really agree with you.
Instead he can definitely aim for the cups if he starts playing a little better and losing easy games, it will be difficult but he can do it. I think this is the goal of Walter Mazzarri.

They still have Napoli chance of winning the title this season, especially because this season there are still many matches left that they can try to improve their progress. In the champions league they have a chance to qualify for the round of 16 because napoli is 4 points ahead of braga and they only need to aim for 1 more win to strengthen their ranking. I am sure that in the hands of Mazzarri, Napoli will be strong again in Serie A and Atalanta will be the match that will determine Napoli performance under Mazzarri.
There will still be a chance for them to be the winners of this Serie A. However, Napoli will definitely have to work extra hard to get it because, however, their position is still in 4th place currently with a fairly large difference in points from the top of the standings. So if they want to win again, they can't lose again and waste their chance. So it can be said that Mazzarri actually has quite a heavy burden here this time, perhaps heavier than when he was here before. And of course this won't be easy because after all, other clubs like Inter and Juventus won't let it happen, especially since they've been trying so hard lately.

What is going on with Milan these days by the way? Their winless streak has reached 4 matches in the league now. They at least have got in the game again in the Champions League by that win over PSG. However they need to do something about the Serie A as well immediately. Otherwise they are likely to find themselves out of the Champions League area in no time.  Sad

They couldn't score any goal in 2 of these 4 matches I mentioned. They had better focus on being productive consistently firstly.

Not being able to score against a team like Udinese is horrible for a team like Milan for example.

@babo I’m not sure if Mazarri can do anything special with Napoli now because this season they’re completely broken and therefore i doubt that they can now recover from this mess that they have created for themselves. Furthermore they should target someone like Zidane because he would command respect and be able to unite the board and the squad and get immediate results but getting him to come won’t be easy.

Of course, at this point in the season he can't do much
but he can avoid doing further damage, the problem was that Garcia was continuing to do damage, this is the problem that led management to fire him
otherwise they would have kept him for the season

there is a but! that is, they are two presidents with different traits, Moratti had the obsession of winning with his favorite team, he invested billions without looking much at the economic return. on the other hand, De Laurentis is not a Napoli fan, he is obsessed with winning but sells his best players without any problem. two presidents similar but different in some circumstances, and if he were to fall into the trap into which Moratti fell, a decline would begin for him

True, you are right, they both have an obsession but which ultimately leads to nothing. Football is not a business but a disposable and expensive hobby (as president and owner) there are very few teams with a profit on their balance sheet, not to mention unique and rare.

It is true! Moratti changed coaches at a frightening pace, I think the longest-serving were Mancini and Mourinho. Unfortunately he was obsessed with doing better than his father Angelo Moratti until he succeeded. Now De Laurentis must not fall into this trap, the team has been coached by 3 different coaches in 6 months and I don't think this is a good practice to follow because each coach has different schemes and it is not easy to get used to a new scheme in such a short time time

I really believe that he fell into the same trap that Moratti fell into at the time!!!
A president must not decide technical things, he must limit himself to being the president without intervening, also because his job is not to be a coach. I hope he understand.
