Stop using branwallets
I guess we should have done a KNC group buy instead.

With no sign of chips or boards yet I guess everyone is going to need a refund. But was the refund process already closed up some time ago? Is it too late for refunds now?

I went through the e-mails and there was no time limit specified. I am still hanging onto a thread to finish my 4 miners, I know I won't make ROI. I set a hard date of Oct 1st, that if no news came from steamboat, I would request a chip refund.

I wonderer how many people still want their miners.
I would like to get my miners ASAP even if they are not fully functional.

I don't believe it's too late, at least according to what we know so far. You can always request one and you'll either get coins in your wallet or miners at your doorstep.

I won't be holding my breath on that one. Yifu could have made this smoother in many ways, and now he is mentioning compensation? Right now I be thankful to get the refund.

edit: messed up the quotes

Check this out from the bitsyncom negative feedback thread :

Yifu,

Please refund me the 15 bitcoins to 1CorsCrBEcbncfnR7BVKadUZbHP7xNZCjJ.

Thanks

done.

Also there will be some compensation for trade-in and chip order customers. ( you are entitled regardless, so don't think I am trying to sway your decision. )

For those posting that they've gotten their refunds, would you mind posting when you requested the refund? Might be a useful nugget of info for those waiting for refunds...

I have not yet received refunds, for refund requests submitted on Sat 9/14.

(One of two was resubmitted on Sun 9/15, due to lack of confirmation in the browser window the first time. Possibly a browser issue.)

I received one of these chip refunds today (9/30). (It's the one from the request submitted on 9/14 that was not resubmitted.)

Just got my chip refund.  Kind of sad, would have needed the K16 to be 15 GH to equal that.  Just waiting on assembly refund info now.

Good to hear refunds are still rolling in.

Steamboat was and is a stand-up and honest person.

Refund received, don't recall the request date, something like Sept 11.  Thanks, SB.

Looking forward to doing something with those unassembled K16 parts, prefer Avalon II for me.

He likely has 10k chips (maybe 20k) that he's frantically trying to assemble, test, and get out the door... as long as firmware works. We might not hear anything until the first round of boards start to ship. Remember, he's set a 72-hour turnaround for himself. I'm interested to see how things progress.
What will happen to people who requested a refund after Yifu shipped the chips?

I was under the impression that the refunds were requested before the closure of the refund window. So as long as nothing has changed, everyone should get a refund. I don't think SB would have written that if he wasn't sure of it.

Until SB gives an update and tells us he now has a bunch of useless chips I don't suppose we can know for sure.
