Nah I bet the problem is something else
Using your main bank account to receive frequently and/or large amounts, the bank suspect you to run a business.

Their problem isn't really that you have a business but the fact that you're using your main account with it, which is forbidden by any decent bank. You are supposed to have a business account.

Now, what do they call huge amount received to think it's a business may be different from bank to bank. But in my country, once you received 5000€ within 30 days the system give you a red flag and all info are forwarded to a govt. institution that will check carefully your banking history to look for any illegal activity done.

These "neo banks" are not much different from the traditional banks as we know it. They still need to abide by the laws for criminal activities, money laundering, etc.

We are really fucked with the banksin Europe

Mistertango's accounts were probably originally meant for a local audience in Lithuania. I'm guessing the customer base ended up being too small to support the cost of operations, given the free-account-free-card price model, and they then ventured beyond Lithuania, hoping the demand for a service similar to the direct banking system (or the branchless kind of banking) might open doors to more customers.

It did, especially after the Wave Crest fiasco, but then again it also opened more doors to potential problems such as being the next Wave Crest. They do value their Lietuvos Bankas licence nr 11 to operate as an electronic payments company which is perhaps why they are being cautious and erring on the side of caution by closing accounts, instead of giving account holders a chance to explain themselves.

The problem with allowing these accounts to be freely used for receiving third party payments is it becomes a conduit for scams and fraud. Scammers will instruct their victims to wire funds into these accounts which are then withdrawn from ATMs. Difficult to investigate these crimes even if the accounts were verified with passports or ID.

Thanks for the experiences. I was tring to get verified on mistertango and their shitty system does not accept my id for mulitple times because they say it is blurred which is not. Anyway, I gave up after I see what you have said. In addition, It is suspicious that same one person is always writing positive things about this tango here on the site..

If you load these accounts from other account in your name and just spend money with the debit/credit cards it must be ok.

But what's the point of that? If I just want to spend money there are a million ways to do it.

If your idea is receive transfers and send transfers out, even a few thousands a month, you can forget these shitty banks.

My experience with this list as a localbitcoins trader.

I sell and buy btc with SEPA transfers. Because I receive from many people and send to many other people banks don't like this pattern and as you know it's impossible to reason with them. They act like fucking robots.

- N26: Used only once for localbitcoins. Blocked when transfering from kraken

- Revolut: Used them for some time. Was able to receive about €20k. Blocked

- Mistertango: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.28844528 Blocked

- Leupay: Already received 17k and stopped. Only large transfers so less sender. Still working

- Paysera: Low activity so far. Still working

As for Revolut and Mistertango I am surprised for so-called crypto friendly services, I am puzzled

I was surprised too, specially with Mistertango because it was so fast.

They call themselves crypto-friendly but they were even worst than regular banks I used.

With regular banks it took longer and much more €€€ before blocking.

As for Leupay and Paysera, it's only a matter of time before the block your account as well.

I'll try to change some things to save these 2.

Are you using only LocalBitcoin for all the SEPA transfers in and out?

Yes. I buy and sell from individual sellers there.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't registration to fidor.de closed to non-German residents? I see discussion about it in several bitcoin communities and this guide doesn't really make a clarification. I read here that it's for German citizens only.
It is now open to other european citizens.

N26 stopped to accept transaction related to cryptos activities not long ago. I think it's since they partnered with Transferwise (which don't deal with cryptos activities)

I dont think its safe to open bank account online. Hackers could get your account if you're not careful.
Its not safe. You should go directly to the bank to open an account.  Anyway, its good to see how banks are embracing new technology now. But its sad because i dont live in EU. I live in Asia. Does anyone know if theres a bank like this here on Asia?

Why wouldn't be safe? It's true there is no absolute security but if you think like that than better don't use Internet and online services at all.
Many commercial banks are offering the possibility to open bank account online and that is very convenient for many users and saves time.
Anyway, this is very useful list, it's good to know what choices we have.

Totally agree with you.
Apart from time saving i would add also the low fees.
For those who worry about security, i can tell that ebanking is way safer than traditional/physical banks.

I think it's for German citizens only. They are also quite strict these days because of the very high risk of these accounts being used for fraud. By this I mean opening bank accounts for the sole purpose of perpetrating fraud or Kontoeroeffnungsbetrug as they call it in German.

I have an account with DKB which is a direct bank or a bank without any branch network. It's based in Berlin and their services are top notch. It's a fully functional IBAN account with a credit card attached to it. The account comes with an overdraft. It's not just a debit card but an actual credit card with a credit line linked to it. I live in Asia and opened it with an Asian passport... all online. Naturally they were cautious so the approved overdraft was only EUR 100. I have had the account since 2011 and I take very good care of how I use it. No wild spending and over the top SEPA in/out transfers, no bitcoin-related transactions (DKB is staunchly anti-BTC).

What I do is I load bitcoins on my Mistertango account, then from there I transfer Euros via SEPA to my DKB account. No suspicious questions or issues. Why? Because the Mistertango account is also in my name so there is little risk of being flagged.

As for Fidor, I once considered opening an account with them. Same with N26. They are now stricter than ever and if they do open accounts, they close them quickly if they notice a pattern of transactions they don't like.

But you can send money to another Payoneer account without SEPA, you can transfer using the email ID of the person like you do with Paypal.
otherwise, you wouldn't see all the offers listed on localbitcoin. See the following link explaining about it

Yep, Payoneer doesn't allow transactions related to "digital currencies". However, people may try to use LocalBitcoin to sell Bitcoin for Payoneer, if the funds come from a person and not a company related to cryptos, it may work.
Payoneer only accepts SEPA deposits from companies verified by Payoneer, you can't receive SEPA from individuals at all.
