for general purpose with debit card what is the cheapest account with Personal IBAN?
n26 is reliable?

I would suggest Mistertango. The account is free. The card is free too. You only pay when you withdraw cash from your card.

Here's the website: https://mistertango.com/en/

Best of all, you can load the account with bitcoins. You get an IBAN account which allows you to send and receive SEPA payments and the card works worldwide.

Thanks for this complete answer.
I will try mistertango and n26 and later tell us feedback Wink

N26 is reliable but they might require German PostIdent identity verification and for that you have to be in Germany.
They don't require PostIdent, just a normal video call verification.

Mistertango also requires verification and you can do that conveniently on their iOS or android app.

No harm in trying it. You won't be charged for opening an account.

Revolut announced during TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin that they're upgrading their crypto services.
You can now buy, exchange, and hold BTC, ETH etc.

Official blog announcement:
https://blog.revolut.com/revolut-launches-easiest-fastest-way-to-buy-cryptocurrencies/

Has anyone already tested the cryptocurrency features of Revolut?

This could either be a great way to easily buy cryptocurrencies or an expensive way to buy
cryptocurrencies compared to conventional exchanges. Nonetheless, this shows the increasing
acceptance of Bitcoin among these new fintech startups.

Haven't tried it yet, but they did make some huge announcements during TechCrunch Disrupt in Berlin earlier this month. I can follow-up with the community and ask if anyone's using it already.

I wonder if you can also send to other exchanges via SEPA now, if you don't want to use Revolut's exchange rate?
Apparently you can.

I have opened an account with ferratumbank.com. So far it seems free, perhaps they should be on the list too? I have yet to use the account but I'd like to ask them first if they'd be ok with BTC related transactions.
You should open account at www.mistertango.com, we are bitcoins friendly EMI. You could even get a bitcoins transfers to your account and they will be automatically exchanged to euros.

Just a few more advantages of "MisterTango":

- Free and fast account opening
- There are no monthly fees
- Dedicated IBAN
- Free incoming/outgoing SEPA transfers for EU based clients
- Free and instant transfers between "MisterTango" clients
- Free "MasterCard" for EU based clients with no monthly fees
- Free mobile app
- Business accounts
- No limits

Could I use your service to deposit on bitcoin exchanges provided that all exchanges ask for a specific message to be included with the tranfer? AFAIK you include "Sent from Mistertango" as a message to all outgoing transfers. Couldn't that be a problem for depositing to bitcoin exchanges?

Don't worry about that, you could deposit to any bitcoins exchange from your "MisterTango" account. We even have some well-known bitcoins exchanges between our clients already.

I have opened the MisterTango account, but in the transfer page there's no place for me to put in the "description" field, only the "Purpose of the Payment". I suspect they're not the same, right?
If you don't provide the "description" field, how could we successfully deposit to the bitcoin exchangers?

I can highly recommend using Mistertango's account and card products. I use it and been happy since the day I got the card. The account is free and you can open it online. The app is user friendly and easy to use. You can do SEPA transfers to other banks participating in the IBAN system.

The card is a life saver. ...

I was also thinking about opening a Mistertango account. However the 200 € withdrawal limit per month for the card seems rather low.
Is there a way to raise this limit (e.g. by providing additional documents) ?

We give ability for our clients to use a free 200€ withdrawal in any ATM. But you could always take some more if you want for a 2% fee.

Apparently N26 is shutting mw down because I requested a transfer from kraken.

I have no other explanation because I didn't use the account in the last month and the day after I requested the transfer from kraken I received this:

Due to usage contrary to the contractual agreement, in accordance with § 19.3 of the N26 Bank terms and conditions, we will terminate your account XXXXXXXXXX with extraordinary notice on

...

I would have expected that N26 would be more welcoming to a new technology like Bitcoin.

Could you quote the § 19.3 of the N26 terms? I looked into the terms at the following website,
but I couldn´t even find this clause:
https://docs.n26.com/legal/small/en/account-terms-and-conditions-latest.pdf

Maybe the real reason wasn´t the transfer from Kraken, but simply that your account was pretty inactive
aside from receiving the Kraken transfer. And you incur certain costs for N26 if you don´t really use
your account, because they have to pay partners like Mastercard irrespective of your actual usage.

I'd like to know this too. I've been doing transfers in and out of exchanges on almost a daily basis with N26 and never received such a notice. Can you please do a public service ask N26 why they shut you down as the clause quoted can't be found? It;d be important to know if it was for bitcoin. Here's a list of phones to call them: https://n26.com/eu/contact/

The card is a life saver. Cryptopay deactivated my MyChoice visa card after Visa Europe acquired Wave Crest. Thankfully I had this back up plan.

There are countless other EU accounts but most require that you open them on site at a physical branch. I also have an account with DKB in Germany which I opened online and while living outside Germany. That was back in 2011. Not sure if the rules have changed but this is one bank that gives me peace of mind. I don't use DKB for bitcoin transactions. They are known to be anti-bitcoin but the nice thing is I can sell my bitcoins to Mistertango and move some of the money by SEPA to my German account.

Apparently N26 is shutting me down because I requested a transfer from kraken.

This was Kraken reply to my support ticket:

"Hello XXXXX,
Please find attached the proof of payment for one of the transfers as provided by our bank. All transfers have already been sent. If you are unable to find the transfers using the information provided, please report back and we will ask our bank Fidor to trace the transfers."

N26 is totally silent.

It seems they have my money and want to keep it.

Yes, Wirecard Bank AG, so you get a German IBAN.

Sent Paxum an email asking if it's allowed to send/receive to/from crypto exchanges.

Edit: They replied, and it's prohibited due to their banking agreements.
