what is this?

First ever decentralised exchange.  No coding required.  details:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=829576.6720

first? i don't think so, you know about bitsquare right? or bitshares 2.0, they are both pretty popular and they are very old decentralized exchange

Today would be a good day for this thread to be labeled officially dead and placed in the trash bin.

technically this is only a pump, remember what happened with the halvign, a pump and then a dump and was forgot again, still looks very dead to me, the value isn't moving much from the first 2x that was reached for segwit

So by pump you mean artificial and it will get dumped again? I was hoping that litecoin would follow in the steps of dash and ether and at least get to $50 before I sell.

Litecoin in unpredictable actions. Looks week. Maybe reason for bitcoin rising.

I personally can not trust for open position at this time. There seems to be a lack of motivation.
Yes, but litecoin is good be traded on poloniex because the trend of litecoin is increasing
it is good time for make profit from trading altcoins, although maybe today is time for going down of litecoin,
what I know why litecoin is increasing because of the activation of segwit in litecoin,
although it is not 100% true but it is good news for litecoin.

This year is definitely year of alts! This including LTC, maybe it is not best one but still has much potential for pumps and dumps (for earnings). Im listening stories about "LTC is dead" etc from 3$ per coin, what happened? BTC is ok LTC is even better!

I agree with you. Taking a long time depressions and value losses of alt coins caused brought these stories.

In later months even if btc is strong, i also believe that this year will be much different for the alt coins.

If there is an agreement of block size increase, the price of bitcoin will rise a lot.

The bigger item to note (not a problem, a feature) is there is no regulation in the bitcoin marketplace, thus this type of manipulation is part of the point of the damn thing. We didn't want any of that annoying govt stuff, we're getting some dictators.

I often wonder why AM even bothers selling miners at all, just keep them and rule the market. Any competitor shows up either sue them into oblivion, or just sell your castoffs for $10 each.

Hm.

Yeah, the last thing the crooks pulling the levers on this system want is regulation because it would hamper their highly corrupt, profitable venture.

They sell ASICS because there is more money in selling unprofitable equipment and manufacturing more efficient chips.

Oddly enough I have no problem with using ASICs as a shortcut on the algo (Asic Boost). Every person on the Earth is looking at SHA256 to see if there are places for efficiency and if found they exploit. Technically KNC and others exploited their own type of ASIC boost in order to make Scrypt run on dies (lots of cores with little memory each working on a smaller segment of the problem instead of fewer cores with a monster memory map as is GPUs). So you know, there's that.

The bigger item to note (not a problem, a feature) is there is no regulation in the bitcoin marketplace, thus this type of manipulation is part of the point of the damn thing. We didn't want any of that annoying govt stuff, we're getting some dictators.

What interests me in this particular grab is that litecoin per se isn't the point, the point is to squash development of segwit on litecoin (which if successful would pull stuff from bitcoin, put pressure on bitcoin to adopt it, gather all sorts of happy press, etc). This can be done by adding 25% hashing power to the litecoin network (to forever block it) which would at 90k difficulty levels take only a thousand or three L3+'s.

At roughly $300 each to manufacture in China land and no support costs (they own em, who cares if they blow up) that's a good solid 300k to sink segwit, protect your bitcoin market, and roll along. Pennies if you think about it.

Now if you had other ASIC manufacturers in business you might have a counterweight on this, but BFL, Avalon, AMT, KNC, GAW, CoinTerra, Spoondles, and others are all gone. Done in by bad feedback, crap products, skyrocketing difficulty and the like leaving AM standing.

I often wonder why AM even bothers selling miners at all, just keep them and rule the market. Any competitor shows up either sue them into oblivion, or just sell your castoffs for $10 each.

Hm.

edit: I was wrong..bitmain is even more evil then I thought not 2 miners for him for every 1 to us..he is keeping them all

seems a firmware problem is delaying the next batch times

how frigging lucky he is huh Wink

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/661ycw/more_jihan_games_litecoin_miners_which_were_due/

So bitmain will stop seg witness...probably at least double if not triple the difficulty do so....then we get our miners after that

nice to know I paid for 4 miners to 'go pure evil' for bitmain and its killing of seg witness

FML

(also editied my previous main post on what I thought was going on...obviously .more evil then I can contemplate is moving about) Sad

Literally every ASIC manufacturer has done that. There are practically zero repercussions for anything in cryptocurrency.

Pay a large sum, larger than you could ever hope to pay back mining, for a miner advertised arriving several months before it actually shows up that has been used to the point of failure and is no longer as profitable because they have used the order money to produce a new batch of asics for themselves.

You forgot short the coins in the meantime just because, but that sounds quite possible. I think it's highly unfortunate that there are no other miner manufacturers left (well, Inno), they seem to have been run out of the market.

Hm. No, I'm going back to bed.

Yeah a lot more peels to this onion. Of course UASF could fix this. But remember asic
boost works dandy with that. Also you have 2/3rd's more asics in hand from selling and
keeping. To keep your army intact. Then slow sales and you control the faucet on pow scrypt.

Not to drop a rock on anyone's parade, but I just took a look at Segwit's support on the LTC network: It has dropped from ~80% a few days ago (est) to 63.7% support in the last 24 hours. No, 63.19%.

http://litecoinblockhalf.com/segwit.php

Segwit miner support within the last 24 hours (last 576 blocks)   364 (63.19%)
Segwit miner support (percentage of segwit blocks signaling within the current activation period)   1750 (76.29%)

What's happening? Not sure, but apparently a big boost in hashing power is coming online from our friends at Bitmain. The company who runs antpool IIRC, which does not support signaling on the Bitcoin network, same company who just dropped a lot of L3+ units on the network.

I wonder where they are all mining to.

Fuck.

Bitmain. Evil geniuses. The plan imho.

1) tell everyone you don't use asic boost that gives you 33% advantage. It's a lie.

2) look like you are walking away from seg witness which reinforces 1) above.

3) with that in place offer crap load of miners. At, in hindsight too cheap a price.

4) put up cloud flare on your site to protect the bitmain sales page from ddos attacks. That will come
in the future.

5) ramp up production to stop seq witness dead and add to that every L3 or L3+ sold at full price
and paid back. Pays for 2 more L3+s in their data hall. In that they control most asic
They could do this a long time

6) then assuming the whole point of this's dog and pony show was to stop seq witness
for keeping 33% gain/edge to themselves.

7) also this manipulation makes it too werid for other mnfg scrypt pow to build
and at 2 to themselves because the profits of that one sale to you, can adjust amounts to the world
because bitmain is too big to fail as mostly only maker of asic's

Cool cloudflare ddos is already in place for backlash.

Thus can have it all. Then when settles out you own pow scrypt

Bruhahaha (evil laugh)

So too recap. Cheat, fake retreat, sell 1 get 2 asic's back off profit for own use. Attack
With even more hash. Win and keep cheat and drive all from the field in victory

Then of course retrench in position by, after say doubling difficulty 2x slow stop miners
sold to others to keep your win secure

Damn

$LTC miners which were due to be shipped by @BITMAINtech between 15th & 20th April have been delayed because of a "firmware problem".
