I think in any investment it takes time. This is not something you can do for a short time and expect to generate huge sums of money. It is a process and requires long-term results. therefore requires patience and commitment when the market fluctuates because long-term investments are very risky.
I think investing on long term is a very good idea because you tend to make huge profits from it. As the coin grows, your profit increases as long as the coin in which you invested is stable and has good potentials.
I think that the main reason why it is worth keeping coins for a year and even more is the popularity of the coin and its practicality that allows an increasing number of traders to buy it

Well long term investment is pretty neat specially if you're financially stable. If you're on a crisis might as well do short term investments. The goal of long term investment is to maximize your profit within years time (5-10 years) if you could wait patiently and calmly, then it might be good for you. Priorities, depends on your stability. Since you're here in the forum, investing in coins would be worth the shot. Do invest in BTC and ETH (if you have the money) but if not, go with other altcoins that fits to your budget. And of course, think through what you're up against and don't be scared if the value's dropping, it'll certainly come back twofolds or more.
If I think long term investments are so risky I have to need to analyze and read a lot about each coin or token to understand what kind of project it is and whether it will be in demand in the future. But also long-term investment is the most profitable. I have to look at Coinmarketcap and will choose among the top ten Cryptocurrency in the list.
In my opinion,long term investment is advisable but must be done avoiding greed so as not to loose you profit made overtime as a result of fluctuation, an example is what we experienced recently and we are still experiencing. Some who did not dispose their investment that yielded so much when the price of BTC & altcoin was high are now regretting not selling when it was dropping. So long term is good but with wisdom.

foy my own opinion long-term investments are very risky, you need to analyze and read a lot about each coin / token beucase if want to get a high profit coming from your investment make sure your coin / token you choose are under going in review and if you look the coin or token are great way not to invest it very much
Long term investment for me is always consider profitable as long as we assure to do our part on the most out of every investment we choose to have in the future. I think learning and the process of experience will always help us to develop our investment for the future for us to earn more and to reach our goals in the near future.
