Any ideas what to buy now and keep for longer?

For long-term investments you can choose bitcoin, because bitcoin is the strongest coin and will last a long time. And for alternatives you can choose ethereum because ethereum also has good potential and can last long.

We've all heard and read about this topic a thousand times, but here's my suggestion:

1. Don't depend on what people say here in this forum; instead be resourceful. There are a lot of topics here asking what to invest and most do give out great tips for longer term.

2. Research a lot! Trust me, it will be of your benefit and not ours.

3. Since you are asking ideas of what to buy now and keep longer, check this website coinmarketcap.com and you'll find things you need when trading (ideas of coins to buy that is).

4. And I surmise you barely know anything about Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies that much yet, then just stick to what you know first and go for long term with what you are familiar with like for example Bitcoin; if that's what you are accustomed to.

And goodluck to you though and happy trading!

You should invest long term for bitcoin. It will help you succeed for the profit they bring. Normally, we prefer short-term investment to get back to our capital.

Long term investment is profitable but another side risky as well.Holding your worthy coins for long term may be threat of hacking so avoid the the risk and save with powerful tools.
Bitcoin is king and other coins like Ethereum,Ripple also profitable and if hold for long term will meet fruitful results.

Long term investments should be looked at very carefully. Read up on the currency, not just their site and whitepaper, to gauge how the community feels about it. If a product starts out great and the community starts seeing that they aren't delivering on promises then they will jump ship.

My answer will be like other people commenting here which is Bitcoin because its the best among other coins and its much profitable in a long run. For altcoins definitely ETH which is second best after bitcoin. Ethereum is kinda popular for investors because of its cheap price, big profit and has a very good potential to grow.

Go for the coins with highest market cap and oldest, the top 3 would be BTC, ETH and LTC. They will be going up in the long run, no matter what. New coins, coins with small market cap can be effected from drop spikes irreversibly but especially these 3 coins will only grow stronger after a drop spike.

I think one of the best up and coming long term investments is Marinecoin. They have an amazing team and at the current moment they are incredibly under valued. Just check out their site and read what they're all about.

On top of that they are currently offering 450,00 MTC free ICO if you join: https://marineco.in/ico

maybe you think it because you get free coins Wink
dont know what i should say about marinecoin

Well, there are so many great altcoins with great potential to invest for long-term e.g Stellar, Cardano, Ripple, EOS, Verge, Trade, and Pundi X. these are my very best altcoins to invest for long-term for now.

I still can't see anyone talking about TukTuk even though it's a good project and it's value will skyrocket by the end of this year. Also as some suggested Ripple is risky but it's a risk that will payout. And ofc, ETH and BTC are always good long-term investments.

You can check out Boscoin. He will make a long term win. Now the price is very low.
First, i want to thank for you recommend me BOScoin, I think this is a full of potential project. When Smart Contract Technology is very excellent then "Trust Contract" which Boscoin is developing even better. As far as they explain:
“Trust Contracts” will provide a decidable and approachable framework for creating and executing contracts on the blockchain.
The “Congress Network” is aimed towards creating a more democratic and productive decision making process.
And the incentive scheme and issuance plan is aimed towards creating value for the coin while deterring the centralization of power.
The Modified Federated Byzantine Agreement algorithm will allow for low latency transactions while being more energy efficient.
BOScoin aims to overcome the technical and operational issues inherent in many cryptocurrencies.
I believe technical of Boscoin will be technical of the future.

I cannot suggest you anything else other than bitcoin. Me too only invest in bitcoin for long term. It inspired me because as i had done my researched about crypto currencies price chart. Bitcoin has been the most outstanding coins amongst all others. Prices has been up and down but the recovery of bitcoin was fast and proven me how strong that crypto currency is.

Your choice is right for long-term investment and you can see and research NEO, XLM, LTC and there are also some new alt that worth considering such as CND, MTH and TIO. Because they have been proven and have survived long in the crypto world. I am sure they will be very potential in the future, but do not forget also BTC and ETH.
For long time invest it should be better to hold as you can so that you can have what token would rise up for long term. And yes it would be practical to have btc and eth as we clearly see for now that it has a big improvement and progessively among others.

There's so many coins to chose from, but always keep in mind that btc done it first. So in my own terms i would rather chose btc. But if you're an adventurous type of guy, do some research and invest on altcoins. In that way you can feel the heart pumping, blood sweating type of investment.  Grin
