Self-control is what every gambler must have if they still want to gamble responsibly. The problem is that many gamblers lose control of themselves when they get pleasure from gambling and think that by using more money, they can get bigger wins and greater pleasure. And indeed, we should be able to have more activities to help us divert attention from gambling so that we can also reduce the use of money for gambling.

If we balance having fun and doing what we should, we will not experience serious problems because our bodies also need to do other things, especially physical activity, to maintain our health. By doing physical activity, we can balance everything and also divert our minds from unnecessary things so that we can manage our lives well.

We are the boss, so we must manage everything in our lives. We don't want to experience gambling addiction, especially since we have seen the impact of gambling on gamblers, so we have to be more careful and always try to limit our gambling. And if we can find other pleasures outside of gambling, it will give us the balance we want to achieve. But we can still gamble as usual but with good self-control so that we don't experience serious problems such as gambling addiction.

The self control in the gambling is enough for the gambler to get away from the gambling addiction,my friend had spend 5k dollars for the reduction of the gambling addiction. It may be seems to be the biggest money, but the fact is he is the millionaire. So my friend family decided to use the 5k treatment to avoid him to get loss of entire million dollars. But the fact is he never get away from the gambling addiction.Because he is not ready to quit the gambling from his mind.So self control was the important that spending huge money spending to get away from the gambling addiction.Playing the gambling game is not the wrong one, only the gambling addicted person doing the spoil of the name of the gambling.

I think that's one of the best ways to get rid of a bad addiction, switch it with a good addiction.

For example, get that "high" from going out for a run, or creating something. That's a much better use of your limited time on earth than gambling.

At the end, it will probably require much more time to have a negative consequence from those positive addictions than gambling.
By replacing gambling activities with other more useful activities, we can see that we can get other interesting things, which of course, can divert our minds from gambling so that we will not continue gambling, which will cost us a lot of money. If we can distract ourselves from gambling by doing other things, we can avoid losing money on gambling because other activities may not require as much money to be enjoyable.

You have the appropriate approach to handling addiction, and it is important to gamble it with seriousness. The key to success is control; more control than ever if you will. It all comes down to establishing and maintaining boundaries. You must be tough with yourself.  It's important that you diversify your routine and occupy your mind and body with activities that are beneficial to your health and well-being

Also, let's talk about balance, which is huge, important, and everything. You need to engage in healthy activities that will stimulate your body and mind without endangering it more. It's similar to managing a business in that you need to have the right people in the right positions and the appropriate habits in the correct quantities in your personal life

Reducing gambling is a big win, it's huge. It indicates that you're regaining control and becoming the boss. And we desire it, isn't that right? Not some addiction, but ourselves, is what we want to be in control of. Thus, keep going, keep pushing, and never forget that the goal is to start something good as opposed to merely stopping something unpleasant. And that's how you overcome the odds and win

None other than that happened because of carelessness that should not have been done, but yes I understand that we like humans will never escape mistakes, one of which is wrong in taking action without fully considering it. Even though there are still many other activities that can still give pleasure without involving risks for themselves, such as going to the gym or traveling to a place that can make you happy again. I think it's one of those addictions that won't be a problem at all if it's outside of gambling and there's no possibility of risk in it, after all as you said they will have a healthy and awake body.

Yes the excessive factor will always be a problem in anything, not only in gambling but in the daily activities that we do it can also have a bad impact on us if we always overdo it. Yes, I agree, therefore I hope that we can be more considerate in every decision, if it is beyond our ability then it is better to avoid it, so we must be able to make everything run in balance according to our abilities, it is better.
Therefore, if we have found another way to overcome gambling addiction, we must also be able to manage it well so that we do not become addicted to other things. We also have to remember that everything in excess is not always good for our bodies or our lives. The important thing is that we can balance everything so that our lives can run well and in balance. We don't need to do things that we feel are difficult to do because we also need to adapt to our abilities to do them, but it is useful for us in overcoming the gambling addiction that we experience. However, when we can start reducing our gambling activities, it is a good sign because our minds are no longer dominated by gambling so we can do other things easily.

And by balancing everything, we can be comfortable in living each day while we are still trying to get rid of the gambling addiction that may still be within us. And with good activity management, we can slowly cure our gambling addiction and we can definitely live a normal life like other people.

One of the solutions which is recommended by most gamblers on this forum for gambling addiction is "Therapy" . Professional help in the form of therapy. Therapy for gambling addiction is expensive. How can those who are unemployed afford it? How about the college student? Or the person receiving minimum wage. What are the other low cost but very effective solutions to gambling addiction. And typically how long will it take before the addict starts to feel more in control and less withdrawal symptoms?
Will totally appreciate your responses. Thanks.
While you are concern about the effective solution for gambling addiction and also the expenses for therapy have you consider how much those addicted gamblers will spend  if not being threated ?
the amount they will pay for therapy is just a peanut of how much they can lose in the long term while they can use the betting money for the therapy and also how much time and what are the other stake if they continue gambling.

But if you are seeking for cheaper or even free? then that is either the Church that will help them realized or their family and friends but first they must trust them before the process starts because even therapist cannot help them if they are not participating .

There would really be no negative if you are really just that responsible towards your actions and that intent of yours when it comes to gambling. You wouldnt really be finding yourself
for any problems neither positive or negative if you do really have just simply having that moderation when it comes to your gambling spending. You wont really be making yourself
a problem and this is something that must be done by everyone on the time that they would really stepping into the world of gambling.
The key on here is that you shouldnt really be that making yourself that get addicted or else you would really be ending up on a disaster or something that you
didnt expect that it would really happen into you.

Do you mean cross addiction? I think that's a good idea but you have to know that all excess activity is not good for everyone's physical and mental health, If someone might replace gambling addiction to a good addiction like physical exercise or other thing that has a positive outcome to a person then it's good but there's a tendency that even a good addiction might cause something bad also. Much better if a person will teach how to balance everything so that it can't lead to any obsession.

Getting addicted is not "always" bad, if you can get addicted to something good. I had a friend in my friend group that we all joked how he was addicted to gym, he felt horrible if he didn't went to the gym even for just a single day and he kept doing stuff at home before bed just in case, like he has to work out every single day.

That is actually good for your body to a point, obviously even that would be very bad for you if you do not know what you are doing, but if you are just doing enough, nothing insane like lifting 200kg or something like those body builders do, then a decent level of fitness should keep you healthy instead. So if you want to replace one addiction with another, you can find less harmful one, or even a helpful one.
Being addicted to something good certainly won't become bad. But the problem is that many people are addicted to something that is not good, so that it harms them and their lives. It was a good decision to go to the gym for his health, and if he doesn't go to the gym, it's like something is missing from his life. That means he is addicted to sports, and by going to the gym, he can get a good body, and his health will always be maintained. His body's immunity will always be in good condition, so he will not be easily attacked by disease.

But even so, he doesn't need to force himself to do things that almost exceed his strength limits in the gym. It's also bad for his health because he could sprain himself while exercising. And if that's the case, anything in excess is only sometimes good, and that's why we have to be able to keep everything in balance.

Like you say, therapy is expensive and it's unlikely that the people suffering from gambling addiction would have the restraint to pull together though funds. Frankly, the best way with the most accessibility is just to train yourself to go "Cold Turkey". That is, don't expect to ever gamble again and completely remove yourself from scenarios that lead to you gambling. Use the self exclusion facilities and block yourself from all your favorite gambling sites for the longest period possible. You must be on guard in the early days and not fall into routines that led to you gambling before. Catch yourself before boredom sets in, build some other healthy habits like going for a walk when you feel the urge to bet some money, just break the cycle.
This is actually a very good advice, but it will only be possible if you are brave enough to admit that you are becoming a gambling addict. Because we all know that majority of the gambling addicts do not admit that they are falling deep into gambling addiction, their only reason is that they just want to recover their lost money so they have to keep on betting in order to do that. Not realizing that the more they chase their losses, the more they fall into deep gambling addiction.

Based on the experience of some addicted gamblers, the first solution to it is self-admission. Know that it is only yourself that you can best rely on when gambling addiction is already here. After that, by training yourself to avoid gambling temptations, you will slowly prevent your addiction from growing. Develop some new interest and skills that will help you forget about gambling, the more you do that, the higher the chances that you can get rid from gambling in a short period of time.

I believe some people can really underestimate the power addictions have over the will power of people, that "solution" about simply letting addicted people to run out of money does not make any sense, otherwise addiction to gambling would not be a social problem anywhere and people would rehabilitate themselves as soon as they see their wallet completely empty, because their actions.
In reality, when a seriously addicted individual realizes he does not have any money of his own left, resorts on adquiring debts, stealing, commiting fraud... We have even seen some news here in the forum of someone who was willing to kidnap their own family member for money to keep up gambling.
That vision of the world and how addictions work is very idealistic. I would wish it worked that way, this planet would have less evil.
That will be a bigger problem than just the gambling addiction problem that we usually find because if that is what a gambling addict does, he will get problems that he never imagined because of his gambling addiction. He really had to cure himself of his gambling addiction so he wouldn't experience bigger problems. However, the problem of gambling addiction has become a more serious problem, especially amid modern technology like the one we now enjoy, where someone who often gambles becomes someone who enjoys gambling and becomes a gambling addict without realizing it. That is why we must be able to control ourselves and limit ourselves from gambling because once we are addicted to gambling, it will take a long time, which we don't know for sure, to cure gambling addiction.

This is a very complaisant interpretation of the word addiction and whether it is physical exercise, alcohol or gambling, there is never something good about doing too much of anything, and as soon as positive effects stop outweighing the negative consequences, the word addiction obtains meaningfulness. If someone exaggerates in a gym, there are also negative consequences that may not be felt immediately, like wear and tear of the joints or increasing fatigue. But this is not to go into too much detail here, I just want to say that the word addiction describes the pivotal point where something you do will at some point result in a net negative.

There are a lot of free options out there for the ones that do not have the money to pay for a therapist, they just have to look for them and see what it is available near them.

However this will require a genuine desire to improve and stop gambling, and there are many gamblers that despite their claims when you look at their actions it is clear they do not want to change their ways, and they are just doing this in order to make it seem as if they want to improve, even if this is not really the case.

At the end of the day it has to start from within the person.

If the gambler doesn't want to change, no one will be able to change them.

And if the gambler wants to change, then they should take it one day at a time, and build momentum slowly. Just be slightly better today, and slightly better the next day, and so on. By your own metric. Evaluate where you are, act differently, and see the outcomes the next day. Repeat. Shortly you will see a difference.

Well, this is likely difficult situation but I think looking for some alternatives will be the best choice and there are lot of free consultation online. I believe there are solutions for it if you look for them and you're really that willing to be healed from gambling addiction. It's you or someone near you that persevere to make that happen, look for alternatives until you'll be able to afford it.

Simply put, every time there is a problem, there will definitely be a solution that can solve it, not that it is impossible or difficult but maybe they just haven't found the best alternative to solve their addiction problem, because of course everyone has a different way of solving their problems, what you think is effective doesn't necessarily mean it will be useful if applied to other people's problems. Therefore I think only they know about what alternatives can be done and of course what can really be useful to overcome the problem, especially gambling addiction, it really involves a person's mental and psychological, so only they know.

Yes, they can use free consultation servicess online, and I hope that those of you who are addicted to gambling can be open to those who will help you, because with you open, people will know what actions to take that are clearly in accordance with what you need for the healing process.

I think it can happen, if someone has spent all their money then they don't have money to pay for a therapist or other medical care. However, in my opinion, the most effective medicine to stop gambling is when the person no longer has money. Gambling does not cause drug withdrawal effects like people who are addicted to drugs so it doesn't matter if someone doesn't gamble, they will still be healthy.

Gambling activities must be carried out with money, if someone does not have money then he cannot gamble. So that in the end a gambling addict will recover on his own when he no longer has any money
That doesn't guarantee that someone running out of money will stop gambling because he could just borrow money from someone else, and he really can. It is difficult to stop people who are already addicted to gambling from gambling, and this requires serious attention from themselves and also from the people around them. So if he didn't have anyone near him, perhaps he would never be able to heal himself. Unless he takes the initiative to do it for himself, then he will start looking for the right way to make himself more aware of what has happened to him.

Maybe he would try to contact the friends he used to have and ask for their help. If he still had good friends, they would come and help him immediately. But if not, he has to try alone, and if he can't, no one can help him. That means he has to rely on himself to recover from his gambling addiction, which will be hard for him.

Correct.

Yes, that's right, I didn't think that far ahead. It is true that if someone has run out of money, has a lot of debt, then it is very likely that he will commit unlawful acts such as stealing or even worse acts for the sake of money. I think this is the bad impact of a very serious gambling addiction

In my opinion, it will be easier for people to become gambling addicts when playing on online gambling sites. Easy access and being able to play anywhere is one of the advantages that encourages gamblers to continue gambling even though they are working or in the office. Even in my country where gambling is legally prohibited, there are still many gamblers and gambling addicts. Nowadays many young people in my country are involved in gambling because looking at gambling sites can give them money instantly. In my opinion, slot machines are a game that easily makes people addicted to gambling

Self Exclusion, Block your credit/debit cards, Lock your crypto funds then you won't be able to fund your bets but these things can work only if the user is really trying hard to quit but the person who are highly addicted and needs the medical treatment then these kind of remedies will not be effective at all.
There are numerous free rehab centers and support groups for some low-income individuals which may help since there’s plenty of support and understanding available for them. Also, one thing that I know that consider as an effective solution is the advice from your family and loved ones. If a gambler wants to stop gambling but are having a hard time, I suggest them to consider seeking help from a mental health professional. To avoid a relapse and focus on building coping skills, it’s important to commit to quitting gambling completely.
If I am not wrong OP seeking alternatives from medical help because it can be expensive and also the rehab is suggested already so I said the other few alternatives which can be just in the next minutes from where we are. But I am not going to agree that one person who is capable of spending money on gambling which should be too much to get seriously addicted but can't able to do for medical help?

Which itself seems to be an excuse to avoid medical help and continue to gamble.
Your view is quite logical that when someone can spend a lot of money on gambling but cannot afford to seek paid medical help that is certainly much better than free rehabilitation.

That's true but it's relative, because people who are addicted to gambling have relative money, for example someone who is addicted to gambling when he can only make 100$ but puts more of it into gambling every time he gets money, while medical help costs $500 for example, Of course, this price will be difficult for gambling addicts if they really want to treat their addiction with medical help, therefore they need steps that can possibly be taken without spending a lot of money to treat their gambling.

Some people whose families are relatively well off can definitely get gambling addicts to get medical help, but those who don't have it will definitely have a very difficult time.

One of the solutions which is recommended by most gamblers on this forum for gambling addiction is "Therapy" . Professional help in the form of therapy. It is good and very effective but how many persons can actually afford it? There is a fee for each session that lasts for a duration of 60minutes. And there are more than one session.
Thanks.
