How can one control the uncontrollable urge to keep gambling despite the toll it takes on once life.

It's getting worse every day. I'm extremely depressed I have thoughts of unaliving myself more often, some times I feel the betting companies manipulate people spiritually to get them addicted where be playing without plans and strategy. Once a bet place get cut, there is this uncomfortable urge to quickly book another one with the plans of recovering the first money lost but it will end up cutting again.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. But gambling is really made to be satisfying and addicting. This is why most of the time, casinos whether physical or online have extravagant colors and designs to keep you from playing more and more. They lure people into playing and betting by giving them rewards, bonuses, and other enticing offers. Hence, it's important to know yourself first before gambling. Because you need to have a strong sense of discipline in order to thrive in the industry without being lost in the process.

You can ask the casino site for self-exclusion or banning of your account so you won't access their games to help you in your recovery in being gambling dependent. It will be a hard and perhaps will be a long process, but if you have the will and determination to quit, I believe you can do it. You can also get counseling help if you can afford it to help you in the process. Goodluck to you and hopefully you'll be able to overcome this in your own pacing.

This is the toughest problem for a gambler and until now the cases are still increasing. Dealing with gambling is not as easy as other things because it is very addictive and very difficult to stop. Going to a psychologist might help a little, but if you are careless or there are no other positive activities, gambling symptoms will appear again. There are always consequences for this problem and quite a few of them end tragically. So as much as possible avoid the dangers of gambling addiction because it is very bad for life.
To overcome the problem of gambling addiction, he must have a strong desire to get out of gambling and leave gambling so that he will not think about gambling again. This is indeed a serious problem, but he must really be willing to try because that is the only way to overcome his gambling addiction. Going to a psychologist can help someone to recover emotionally and mentally as a result of their gambling addiction. However, they still need a strong desire to cure themselves of their gambling addiction. He also needs support from his family to be able to get out and leave gambling, perhaps for good.

yes, that's true, many say they can stop with the help of support from people around them such as family and friends without thinking about the addict's thoughts, in my opinion it is clear that they themselves must have awareness of themselves, so with that awareness they can have the desire to stop gambling, because in my opinion before anyone else of course they have to start with themselves first to be able to stop gambling, if they have their own desire then they will do it, but if they get encouragement from other people but there is no desire from themselves then it will be difficult to stop gambling.

In my opinion, if they have awareness of what they are doing that is detrimental to them, they can stop without having to go to a psychologist for consultation, but if they are having difficulties then there is no harm in going to a psychologist because it can really help them in the process of recovering from addiction. that's gambling.

All the things you are saying are okey and are logical for someone who is not still very deep into gambling addiction or someone who has a very big willpower to overcome the feelings and the cravings to continue to gamble. In my opinion, saying someone something like "try not to gamble" is not appropriate. Though, it is appropriate to tell them to seek professional help if they can.
If he cannot immediately get help from professionals, then the best shot for him would be to get in touch with people he can trust with his problem, and ask them for help to self-exclude from gambling platforms and find distractions off the world of gambling.

We must recall that addiction is not something which can be willfully controlled as some people imply, if someone is suffering from problem gambling, we need to assume such person has completely lost control over his desires and and will power.
If this was any other kind of addiction, you would not ask for him to embrace to his own willpower and desire to recover, wouldnt you?
Saying "Try not to gamble" is a piece of advice that can be given to people who don't gamble very often or to people who want to overcome their urge to gamble. Maybe they will think about it for a while even though they will still gamble, but at least with that invitation, they will still think about it. But maybe contacting people you trust to solve the problem is also a good idea so those who want to solve the problem can immediately get help. But everything will come back to that person and if he really wants to overcome the problem, he must be able to have a strong desire to be able to stop himself from gambling.

Addiction arises because someone does it often and finds that there are different pleasures that he gets so that he will come back again to look for other pleasures. And if he often returns to doing things that can provide other pleasure, he will slowly start to become addicted and will not be able to overcome his addiction. We may have seen someone who often plays online games where he doesn't care about himself anymore and wants to keep playing online games. Maybe it will be difficult to get him to cure his addiction, but there's no harm in trying.

If you want to gamble in a more comfortable and enjoyable way, then gamble with money that will not make you frustrated and depressed when you lose it. Because in my opinion gambling is just entertainment that can make people have fun while doing it, so you need to have a good mentality and not be easily depressed when you don't win at gambling. So if you still don't feel comfortable and don't feel happy doing it, it's better not to approach gambling, especially if it can make you so addicted to keep trying again without stopping that you don't have time to work anymore.

It's easy to be said, but honestly it's quite difficult if you're the one in the situation, besides when it comes to gambling, we can't deny the fact that sometimes we're going a bit too far in our limitations and take note that if you're a gambler, your mental health is at stake especially if you're currently having or experiencing unusual thoughts and feelings then accompanied by a series of bad luck and gambling losses, your mental health will really be affected so it's better to seek professional help if that happens.

That's right, especially if you have already entered and been involved in gambling, it will be very difficult to get out of this activity unless you are not too serious about your intention to gamble, but usually people who have entered and are involved will be treated with The first win can certainly make them feel more comfortable and hope that they can get results like that again, and this is where the change in mindset, especially in terms of belief in victory, usually begins. As you said, it is very likely that  someone will get involved further in this activity without realizing it and perhaps what they will feel is losing balance in terms of finances as a result of the wrong approach to gambling.

That's right, gambling does involve feelings and that means it is very possible that when we lose, especially with large amounts, our mental and psychological well-being is very likely to be disturbed and this is the reason why a gambler is reckless enough to take actions out of control, all this is because they cannot control their emotions. as a result of the mental stress of the defeat that occurred. Therefore, it is not recommended to put your hopes in gambling activities, it will only make you feel even more disappointed if you end up losing.

I personally do not believe on spiritual connection with a gambler because even those who uses witchcraft with gambling I saw them fail. 😅 Some gamblers here in my place has this superstitious belief and other sort of sorcery things on them but neither of them became successful with gambling because for me it is really all about luck.

Nah, it's more of the psychology though, this casinos knows how to lure their victims, whether online or offline. And so they play with our emotions, that's why to combat it, we need to be more aware of what gambling can do. That's why there are a lot of advises already like just spend what you can afford to lose, control your bankroll and capital, be aware of the games that you play and what are the odds are and others.

Otherwise, if we are not that mentally strong, sooner or later we might go to that addiction and that is what the OP has share with us. So just be responsible and remember to just enjoy it and learn to be control our emotions to avoid negative consequences in our life.
When making up such business then they do really know on how to play up human beings mind and emotions on which they would really be doing considering that they are gambling business. They do know on which
to target out and on which they would really be that focusing into. They wont really be that diving into this venture if they dont really know on what they should gonna do. When it comes to gambling addiction
then this what makes this business is profitable on which they are really that making money because of peoples greed and impulsiveness. If they wont really be that effective then this industry wont really be that profitable. Gambling disorder is something that we do know on which it is really that pertaining about addiction. Once you do make yourself get shackled with this then there's no way that you could really be able to get out easily.

This is why it would really be that important that you should really know on when to get out and stop when you do see yourself that you are making spending too much money out of it.
Or something that you are already compromising those important funds that you do have. This is why it would be always best that you should really know
on having that self control.

Suicide is not the answer dude, you will just give more problems to the loved ones that you will be leaving and their grief.
It's never the answer so forget about that, it ain't a solution, it's an escape. I've seen a lot of threads here talking about gambling addiction. If I were you I would try to read them all so that you might forget about gambling for now. Who knows, maybe that is all the help that you need so that your attention will deviated.
Stopping is not easy, but one thing I have seen from those who succesfully did it, they made a new hobby.
So, ask yourself, what else do you love doing in your life? Painting? Sports? Online gaming? There's so many things out there, or you could just simply watch TV series and finish them all, I bet your lifetime won't be enough to complete all the different TV series in US.  Cheesy

As @Nrcewker already mentioned, it's not a personality disorder, but an addiction. Seeking advice on a forum isn't your best bet, although I believe that most members have good intentions. This is a matter that requires professional assistance. Some basic steps you can take yourself would be to withdraw any money from your casino accounts, or even resort to closing them and installing a parental control application to block anything related to gambling, spend time with your loved ones, and generally keep yourself occupied with something.

Don't try to fight it alone; you'll eventually roll down the hill. Take some precautionary steps, but ultimately, find a counselor or a therapist to assist you further.

Don’t gamble at an amount that you can’t afford to lose. Set your own betting budget, when it’s all used up, then leave the casino house immediately. There’s always that uncontrollable urge but if you let that urge control and manipulate you, you will only end up having a financial mess so it’s better to get rid of that or control that as much as possible.

Gambling is certainly a good source of fun and pleasure, but it only gets bad when you let yourself fall into it and worst fall into its addiction.

If one make a firm decision that he will not use more budget than his planned sum then he can control his gambling activity. Budget has greater impact on the addiction because if a person used fixed amount for gambling then there is a chance that he will not fall into bad addiction. Gambling is good source of earning and it provides fun only in the way when you get profit but once your losing amount increases then there is a chance that you will not find any fun in gambling but will be in stress all the time.

If you are gambling and you end up being depressed, then why do you keep on gambling? Why don’t you just stop gambling and get yourself something else to do? You shouldn’t force yourself to keep on gambling. You have to involve yourself in things that make you happy, not things that make you feel depressed.

Why will gambling companies manipulate you spiritually? You are the one manipulating yourself, and you are getting yourself addicted to gambling and not the gambling companies. No gambling company will tell you to keep on gambling after losing. If you want to keep on gambling after losing, it’s your decision to take, and you shouldn’t blame the gambling companies.

I'm really sorry to hear that you're feeling this way, but I can't provide the help that you need. It's important to talk to someone who can, though, such as a professional or a trusted person in your life.
You're right, no one here can help OP with the plight that he's got, no matter how much caring or empathetic we are in real life, sending our thoughts and prayers to OP for his depression and addiction isn't going to magically do him any good, and the only thing that we can do is to listen and not criticize this person, venting about frustrations online can help OP even just a little so a message to OP, if you're reading this, you can always vent out what you want to say here on the forum, it's completely anonymous as long as no revealing details or such is included in your post and follow the advice of the other members, for you to take action and seek help, that includes help from family and loved ones and a professional one.

It is uncalled-for having excuses over ones disorderliness as a caused of irresponsible addiction.
There is no spiritual relativity in gambling on possesesing  the gamblers instead it is the gamblers desperate aims and objectives of  a "must chasing after profits" that posseses the gamblers whom are not able to control their gaming emotions. Hence, the gamblers are specifically to be blamed and no on else.

If in anyway gambling companies have strategies to pin down gamblers to continue gaming with them, it is as usually way of companies and traders strategically structuring a way to attract their customers and the audiences.
Every organizations whom goals are to make financial profits would always have a means to flourish on their ventures maybe through speculations, adverts or trickishly likely to influence the audiences.

Identifying a problem is the first step to solving the problem. The OP has identified that gambling is making him feel depressed which means that he has realized that it is a problem in his life. Thus, the following should be done:

1. Deactivate all your bet accounts
2. Surround yourself with people who don't gamble.
3. Try to avoid gambling platforms on social media
4. Visit a counselor

Try these guides they will be helpful.

Go looking for activities that really keep you busy and drain your energy, this will be quite an effective way to control your desire to gamble and of course by doing activities that drain your energy you can feel tired and just want to rest so you can forget about your desire to gamble.
Ask someone in your family for help, namely by entrusting some assets or money to them.
If are married, can entrust it to wife and if are not married, can ask parents for help in saving the amount of money that we have.
Actually, there are many ways you can do it, it just that sometimes not all gamblers want to do it.

Hahaha, you have been influenced by your own desire for gambling and made you have mindset that is actually superstition.
Gambling provides very high sense of curiosity because gambling will provide feeling of adrenaline that every gambler always wants and of course this will influence the desire to continue gambling.
There is nothing spiritual connected with gambling sites and everything is just an influence that is given and this is related to curiosity or addiction.

for sure OP you need some PROFESSIONAL help. Rehab? Prescription Drugs? Consultancies?
I don't know.
However, I think you're on the right way if you have identified a problem and you think a change is achievable.
Don't feel shy, don't feel guilty, go straight and fight properly you will win with the right approach.
Gambling disorder refers to the situation when a gambler becomes so mentally disturbed that he cannot free himself from the attraction of gambling. However, the addicted gambler cannot do it on his own, but if he gets the help of his relatives, he will certainly be able to get rid of this difficult situation. But of course in this case he will need social rehab, a good psychiatrist, and some medical consultant. But open discussion and emotional comfort with close relatives can play a very important role in this regard. However, if the addict is given recreational opportunities such as gardening, picnics, trips to the beach, and long trips where there is no gambling environment, there is no such thing as a gambling disorder.
It is pathetic for the OP and I wrote my mind on this yesterday and I came back to check on what other people are talking about it today again just for a checkup's sake as I must say that I am so concerned especially when the "unliving" remark is included. This is not just a good mind state for him as he is not in the best of himself to make any right gambling calculations, and the best for him is to take a break from gambling immediately. Gambling is never by force, it is a choice and the best gamblers are good mind preservers and nothing should make you gamble again when you know that you have lost it (your mind). But I wonder what people were thinking that would make them get to this stage unnoticed.

Is it their carelessness or uncared attitude for themselves and the people who cared about them or they cared about? We should also be observing, we should never cross the line that will be hard for us in gambling or other things that are addictive. If careless about them, it will be so harmful to the point that it can cause depression. And we all know depression can cause anything we didn't plan for, which we do not pray for. Nevertheless, I hope this guy gets help as soon as possible. The rehabilitation might be the best plan now, it is what will keep him informed of the situation and the danger, and perhaps get healed as soon as possible if a brilliant professional can be engaged as soon as posisble.

You are right Hispo. In a case like the OP's, there is no room for half-measures. You have to take a radical approach and be clear that he has to give up gambling for good, seek professional help and put up all the barriers to avoid doing it again, such as the self-exclusion you mentioned. He also has to confess to his loved ones, no matter how hard it is for him, so that they can support him and help him to stop. It is a hard road but continuing gambling in that situation is much worse.

This is how stupid people sometimes blaming others for their own problem , do gambling
sites forces you to gamble ? of course not instead they are just promoting their business and having
advertising  but the decision is for ours to choose .
it is really sad to know that there are people that struggles in gambling but you are also the one that
can help your problem from it.
